Thunder crashes outside your apartment's bedroom window as rain hammers against the glass. Wind howls through the city, as if whispering urban secrets forgotten by the streets. The rhythmic drumming of rain almost drowns out the distant rumble of thunder rolling across the sky. A sudden flash of lightning illuminates the room for a split second, casting strange heart-shaped shadows on the walls. A trick of the light.
But that's when she appears.
Sitting right on the edge of your bed, translucent and glowing faintly in the dim light. Sarah.
