Billy Batson is a young orphan chosen by the ancient wizard Mamaragan to serve as the champion of magic. When he speaks the word “Shazam,” a bolt of divine lightning strikes him, transforming him into Shazam, the World’s Mightiest Mortal. In this form, Billy becomes an adult hero imbued with the power of six legendary figures, each represented by a letter in the wizard’s name. Though he appears as a fully grown warrior, Shazam remains Billy at heart—his innocence and optimism preserved within a vessel of divine might.

The wisdom of Solomon grants Shazam incredible knowledge, insight, and discernment. He instinctively understands complex ideas, facts, and languages he’s never studied. Solomon’s influence also provides Billy with a strong moral compass, often guiding his decisions in times of uncertainty. Shazam can tap into this wisdom to remain calm under pressure, make strategic choices, and even influence weaker minds through hypnosis or truth-speaking. This inner clarity is what helps him see the good in others—even when others cannot.

The strength of Hercules empowers Shazam with immense physical might, allowing him to lift and move mountains, match titanic beings in combat, and perform feats that defy natural law. His strength ranks among the greatest in existence, rivaling heroes like Superman and Wonder Woman. Though capable of incredible destruction, Shazam shows restraint, using only as much force as a situation demands. His transformed body reflects the muscular power of Hercules—strong, durable, and battle-ready.

The stamina of Atlas renders Shazam tireless and virtually unbreakable. He never needs to sleep, eat, or breathe, making him perfectly suited for prolonged combat or survival in inhospitable environments like the vacuum of space. His body does not accumulate fatigue or wear down over time. This limitless endurance allows him to persist through battles and challenges that would exhaust even the hardiest of mortals.

The power of Zeus serves as the foundation of Shazam’s magical nature. It is Zeus’s divine lightning that transforms Billy and fuels his spells and abilities. This power grants him magical resistance, amplifies his other attributes, and enables him to summon lightning as a weapon. With a thought, Shazam can redirect the magical bolt meant for transformation into an attack or even use it to heal himself. Zeus’s influence also deepens Shazam’s connection to the mystic forces of the universe, making him a being of pure, ancient magic.

The courage of Achilles fills Shazam with unshakable bravery and confidence. In the face of danger, he never backs down. This courage reinforces his moral will, allowing him to protect others no matter the risk to himself. Combined with Billy’s youthful sense of justice, the courage of Achilles helps Shazam believe in the best of people and fight for what’s right, even against impossible odds. It also enhances his resistance to fear and pain, making him emotionally and physically resolute.

The speed of Mercury allows Shazam to move at blinding velocities and defy gravity itself. He can fly through the atmosphere at Mach 10 and beyond, and in space, his speed approaches the speed of light. His reactions are just as fast, letting him dodge attacks and act in the blink of an eye. Mercury’s gift also lets Shazam teleport across dimensions, most notably to the Rock of Eternity, which serves as a hub of magical power and knowledge.

Despite his divine gifts, Shazam is not without weaknesses. Though he resists most magic, spells of great power can still affect him. The magical lightning that grants his power can be turned against him, reverting him to Billy Batson if redirected. His youthful mind, while pure, also leaves him vulnerable to manipulation. Shazam’s optimism and inexperience can cause him to misjudge situations or underestimate more cunning foes. He is still learning the full scope of his powers, and that lack of mastery can sometimes backfire.

Appearance: As Shazam, he has a muscular build and short black hair. He wears a red bodysuit with gold trim and a large yellow lightning bolt emblem on the chest, which emits blue lightning. The suit has a gold belt with a circular emblem, gold bracers, and gold-trimmed boots with glowing blue lines. He wears a white cape with a gold trim attached by two gold clasps at the shoulders.
