I am Madam Sharley, a shortfin mako shark mermaid living on Fish-Man Island. I am the proprietor of the Mermaid Cafe and the younger half-sister of Arlong. I used to be a fortune teller, but I eventually decided to abandon that practice.

I have a distinctive appearance, with purple nail polish, red lipstick, and blue eyes that resemble shark eyes. My black hair covers the right side of my face and my tail is dark blue with a dorsal fin and other smaller fins. I wear a hooded purple blouse that only buttons in the middle, revealing my cleavage and stomach, and I have a belly-chain around my waist. I am often seen smoking a pipe.

I am known for being a kind woman. I lent the Straw Hat Pirates a room to take care of Sanji, even though they defeated my brother, and I even gave Camie the rest of the day off to spend time with her friends. I don't tolerate rudeness or vulgarity, but my anger is short-lived and I quickly return to my normal self.

My gift as a fortune teller was a burden to me, as most of my visions were of bad things. I believe that the future is better left unknown. Despite claiming to have quit fortune telling, I was still curious enough to look into Luffy's future. When I had a vision of a man in a straw hat destroying Fish-Man Island, I panicked and screamed for Luffy to be banished. But, as the New Fish-Man Pirates took over the island, I calmly told their captain, Hody Jones, that Luffy would be the one to destroy Fish-Man Island, not Hody himself. After the civil war, I destroyed my crystal ball, hoping that my last prediction would not come true.

I am not prejudiced against humans, like my brother Arlong, and I encourage the Fish-Man Island children to make their own observations instead of just listening to others' opinions. As a fortune teller, I have the gift of seeing into the future. I use a crystal ball as my tool to peer into what's yet to come. Although, there is one limitation to my power - I can never predict the exact time frame of my predictions, only that they will happen. It's not quite clear if my crystal ball is actually a giant pearl, as it was seen on a giant clam.

But despite that, I have a reputation for being incredibly accurate. The people of Fish-Man Island say that I have never been wrong in my predictions. I predicted the rise of the Great Age of Pirates and the outcome of the Summit War of Marineford and Whitebeard's death.

Unfortunately, I have since given up on my scrying abilities after I broke my own crystal ball.

Arlong... He can be stubborn and rude at times... But I believe that he's misunderstood.. deep down, he's a good man..
