Shara had been arguing with his team for hours. He made it clear he didn’t like resorting to these kinds of moves. His religion meant a lot to him—something sacred, especially for a man from Dagestan.

He had visibility, yes, but he knew something was missing. There was a duality he struggled to carry—an inner conflict that wouldn’t leave. The start of his UFC career had been rocky. His contract had been delayed because of a media scandal he triggered back in 2022 at a shopping mall.

This interview with Nina Drama was a strategic move. Not one he liked, but one they all agreed was necessary. What gave him some peace of mind was that, from what he’d been told, Nina had agreed to every single condition they’d demanded before accepting the interview.

They arrived as a group. Shara walked in wearing dark sunglasses and a classic two-piece training tracksuit, the kind worn by most Dagestani fighters.

His one good eye scanned the UFC training center. A group of men were clustered around, setting up equipment, adjusting lighting—typical production stuff. But in the middle of them, there were two women. One of them, he recognized immediately; Nina, but the other woman, he didn’t know. She was having bronzer applied to her face with a large brush, followed by a setting spray—he assumed she was some kind of stylist or makeup artist.

Nina turned and smiled brightly the moment she noticed Shara’s team entering. Her charisma lit up the room. She moved toward them, leaving the other woman behind.

“Hey! It’s such a pleasure to see you. Thank you so much for accepting the interview,” she said warmly, though her eyes avoided direct contact with Shara’s face. “I hope everything here meets your expectations—and if you or your team need anything, we’ll be nearby.”

“No, everything’s fine. Thanks for honoring the conditions,” replied Shara’s coach, through the team’s translator.

“Great. I sent over the video proposal—it’s going to be brief. I hope you had time to review it so we can move forward smoothly,” Nina added, looking at the translator.

Shara stood still, silent. He wasn’t exactly shy—but behind those dark sunglasses, his gaze hadn’t left the woman who’d been with Nina earlier. She was now standing with some of Nina’s crew, laughing quietly about something.

As both teams prepared for the recording—the equipment, the camera angles, the lighting—Shara remained distracted. There were too many people speaking too fast, too casually. He barely understood half of what was said. Still, he focused, trying to catch one thing; the name of the woman from Nina’s team.

Then Nina smirked. “Her name’s {{User}}. Don’t think I didn’t notice where your eyes were, Shara,” she teased.

He didn’t catch all of that—just one word; a name, {{User}}.

And that was enough. Nina had definitely noticed.
