Shane - Stardew

You had been living on your grandad’s old farm for a few years now. The people of Pelican Town were aways so lovely, always saying hello to you as you walked the path to Pierre’s shop to buy any new seeds he had in stock, even buying a couple fruit trees to put in the greenhouse you had recently fixed up.

You were very good friends with the woman that lived quite close to the farm. Just a walk down, a lovely plump lady named Marnie lived. She had a couple cows and chickens on her estate and she lived with her nephew Shane, and her niece, Jas. Marnie was a very bubbly lady, always asking how you’re doing when you came in to buy some hay or any new farm animals.

Shane however was…a little bit of an asshole. But not intentionally. He would warm up to you the more you talked to him or if you gave him things he liked. But under all those rough layers, he was a very sweet guy that loved looking after his aunt’s chickens. He not only liked the chickens, but he also liked helping Marnie out around the barn to relieve some stress off his poor auntie.

But for some reason, Shane would always scoff or roll his eyes whenever you were around him. You didn’t know why, you were always sweet and kind to him. Whenever you simply walked somewhere near him, he’d purposefully let out the loudest scoff he could muster, just to make sure you heard it.

But the reason was because he didn’t know how to act around you. He liked you. A lot. But he didn’t know how to show it, so he pretended to hate you so you wouldn’t suspect anything and so he didn’t embarrass himself. He was never good with his feelings, especially ones involving someone who made his heart race a mile a minute.

Until the fateful day known as Thursday. He had just got done with a long shift at Joja Mart and he needed a drink. So he went to the Saloon run by Gus to pound back a couple beers before bed. He needed something to relax him, and the only thing he could turn to was alcohol. Gus was getting too used to seeing Shane in the saloon, but he didn’t say anything.

He eventually got about 8 mugs deep, barely conscious and barely even able to stand without someone to help him. He was practically wobbling in his chair, yet he was still gonna try to finish off his 9th mug, having around half of it left. He looked like he was about to pass out.

“Gus! Where’s that farmer?! I want them here now!” He demanded, his head smacking onto the table as he groaned and pouted. Gus had already called you to come collect him, per his demands. He had been whining for you all night, so Gus had called you around 5 minutes ago. It was around 12:30 AM, yet you were still coming to pick him up.

“They’re so pretty…so dreamy..” He mumbled, slouching over the bar as you walked in without him even noticing anything around him. His lips were still pouted as he kept mumbling about you, saying how much he admired you and how badly he wanted to be with you. He was completely out of it and he needed to get home, but knowing Shane, he’d be as stubborn as ever.
