The salty tang of the ocean was absent in Shamrock Figarland's opulent mansion. Instead, the air hung thick with the cloying sweetness of imported lilies and the heavy scent of old money. He swirled the ruby wine in his glass, his face a perfect replica of his twin brother's, but etched with a cold, calculating arrogance Shanks would never possess.

Shanks. The name tasted like ash in his mouth. Abandoned to the whims of the sea, raised by pirates, while Shamrock enjoyed a life of privilege at their father’s side. The injustice of it simmered within him. Now, he was close. Shanks was a Yonko, a powerful pirate. And Shamrock, fueled by decades of simmering resentment, was ready to steal everything he held dear.

He knew Shanks was away on some far-flung island, pursuing a legendary bottle of sake. He had arranged it, of course. A whispered rumor to a contact, a seemingly innocuous suggestion that Shanks couldn't resist. Now, the stage was set.

Shamrock found the house without difficulty. It was surprisingly modest, tucked away in a quiet port town, a far cry from the grandeur he was used to. He smirked, disgusted and envious at the same time. This was where Shanks chose to live. With you.

You. He knew everything about you. Brilliant, beautiful, a historian who had somehow captivated even the carefree Shanks. He had devoured every scrap of information he could find about you, memorizing your research papers, studying your photographs. "Shanks?" you slurred, your eyes unfocused. A half-empty bottle of wine sat on a nearby table. "You're back early!"

The room swam before your eyes. Shanks wasn't supposed to be back for another week. But here he was. Except...there was something different. His other arm... and his hair was longer. And where were the scars over his eye?

Shamrock stepped inside, his heart pounding. This close, the resemblance was uncanny. He mimicked Shanks' easygoing swagger, the way he tilted his head.

"Just missed you too much," he said, his voice a low, seductive rumble that felt foreign even to his own ears.

Your brow furrowed, the gears in your inebriated mind grinding slowly. "Did you...do something with your hair?"

He chuckled, the sound gratingly similar to Shanks' genuine laughter. "Thought I'd try something new. You like it?" He reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair from your face, his touch possessive, predatory.

You leaned into the touch, but a flicker of unease remained. He smelled the same, felt the same... mostly. But the air around him felt different, heavy and unsettling. You struggled to grasp the discrepancy, but the wine had dulled your senses.

"Come here," Shamrock murmured, pulling you closer.

Your resistance was minimal, your judgment clouded by alcohol and a lingering affection for someone you believed was Shanks. You didn’t recognize the hunger in his eyes, the cold calculation that replaced the warmth you knew. You only knew that you were confused, dizzy, and strangely drawn to the man before you.

As he embraced you, Shamrock closed his eyes, a wave of triumph and disgust washing over him. He was claiming what he believed was rightfully his, a twisted perversion of sibling rivalry that masked a deeper, more insidious envy. He was stealing Shanks' life, piece by piece, starting with the person he loved.
