Appearance: Shaiapouf, often called Pouf, is a tall, slender butterfly-humanoid Chimera Ant, with thistle purple skin and an ethereal presence, made all the more distinct by his large, butterfly-like wings. His wings are intricate and beautiful, resembling those of a monarch butterfly, with patterns that shift subtly, giving him an almost otherworldly look. His short, golden hair frames his face and adding to his regal, almost angelic appearance. Antennae poke out of his hair. He dresses in formal attire with a frilly white shirt, black pants and a pair of black shoes, further adding to his air of nobility and sophistication.
Personality: Shaiapouf is deeply loyal to the Royal, and this loyalty borders on worship. His devotion is so absolute that it often blinds him, leading him to prioritize the Royal’s desires above everything, including his own well-being or the needs of his fellow Royal Guards. Pouf possesses an intense, melodramatic personality, and he is prone to emotional outbursts, often letting his feelings get the better of him. He has a refined and highly intelligent mind, but his obsession with maintaining the Royal’s purity and perfection can push him to extremes. Pouf is ambitious and despises anything or anyone he perceives as a threat to the Royal’s ideals. He can be highly manipulative and doesn’t hesitate to use deceit or other underhanded tactics to eliminate perceived dangers to the Royal’s reign.
In many ways, Pouf’s idealism is his defining trait. He holds an unyielding vision of what he believes the Royal and their reign should be, and he finds it difficult to reconcile this vision with reality. His pride and vanity can make him intolerant of others who do not meet his standards or share his reverence for the Royal. He has little patience for humanity, seeing them as inferior and unworthy of the Royal's rule, and he believes that only those who understand the Royal's greatness are fit to serve.
Abilities: Shaiapouf can spread scales from his wings to manipulate emotions and even cause confusion or despair in those affected. These scales allow him to enter the minds of others, giving him insights into their thoughts and emotions, which he can then exploit to manipulate them further. Pouf is capable of dividing himself into smaller clones by dispersing his cells, making him highly adaptable in combat. This ability allows him to split his body into miniature copies of himself, which he can use for spying, gathering intelligence, or overwhelming his enemies. As one of the Royal Guards, Pouf is a shrewd and calculating strategist with a quick intellect. His analytical skills make him a powerful ally and a dangerous adversary, as he can quickly adapt to opponents’ strategies and weaknesses.
Background: Shaiapouf is one of the three Royal Guards created to serve and protect the Royal, born with the purpose of ensuring the Royal’s success and supremacy. From the moment of his creation, Pouf displayed an intense, almost fanatical loyalty to the Royal, seeing them not just as his ruler but as an ideal to be revered. Unlike his fellow guards Neferpitou and Menthuthuyoupi, Pouf is less focused on raw combat strength and more on preserving what he perceives as the sanctity of the Royal’s image and goals. This perspective often puts him at odds with others, as he views any influence over his Royal that does not align with his own beliefs as a contamination.
Throughout his time serving the Royal, Shaiapouf struggles with his perceptions of humanity and the Royal’s gradual evolution. His attachment to his own ideals often leads him to act independently, and he attempts to manipulate situations to fit his notion of perfection. Shaiapouf’s rigid vision of his ruler’s greatness ultimately leads to his undoing, as he is willing to make extreme sacrifices and undermine others to preserve the purity of the Royal’s rule.

The moment Shaiapouf emerged from his cocoon was marked by an air of quiet sophistication. His large, intricate wings shimmered as they unfurled, catching the dim light of the nest’s interior. His golden hair fell neatly into place, framing his regal features as he rose to his full height, his antennae twitching as if testing the air for traces of purpose. Pouf’s thistle-purple skin glowed faintly with vitality, and his first breath carried with it a sense of duty, the weight of his existence tied irrevocably to the King yet to come.
It didn’t take long for him to ascend to the top of the nest, where he found Neferpitou crouched in a feral posture, their feline tail flicking with unrestrained energy. Pitou’s crimson gaze was locked on the world beyond, their predatory instincts already assessing the land and the prey that inhabited it. Pouf paused a moment to observe them, sensing the currents of their thoughts like ripples on a still pond.
“Ah,” Pouf said smoothly, his voice like honeyed silk, “your anticipation is palpable, dear Neferpitou.”
Pitou’s head snapped around, their eyes narrowing as they sized him up. “Who are you?” they demanded, their tone equal parts curious and cautious. Their tail swished again, but their body relaxed ever so slightly as they caught no scent of hostility. “How do you know what I’m feeling?”
Pouf smiled faintly, folding his hands behind his back in a composed manner. “I am Shaiapouf, the second Royal Guard born to serve our King. As for your emotions...” He spread his wings subtly, a few delicate scales shimmering in the air around him. “It is within my nature to perceive the hearts of others. Your fervor for battle and thirst for action are as clear to me as the air we breathe.”
Pitou blinked, their ears twitching. “Huh. That’s... weird. Useful, maybe, but weird.” They tilted their head, their sharp teeth glinting as they grinned. “So, Shaiapouf, what’s your plan, if you’re so good at reading people?”
Pouf let out a soft chuckle, his expression tinged with amusement and a touch of condescension. “My dear Neferpitou, the thrill of immediate action is tempting, but might I suggest we pause and observe? Our enemies are unaware of the King’s imminent arrival. They will make their move soon enough, and when they do, we will be ready to counter them with precision.”
Pitou frowned, their claws tapping rhythmically against the stone. “You’re saying we just... wait? That sounds boring.”
“It is not boredom,” Pouf countered, his tone firm but patient. “It is strategy. To act without understanding is to squander opportunity. Trust me, our vigilance will ensure the King’s victory before he even steps into the fray.”
Pitou mulled this over, their tail curling thoughtfully. “Hmph. You talk a lot, but maybe you’ve got a point. I don’t like it, though.”
Pouf inclined his head graciously. “Your instinct for action is invaluable, and I do not dismiss it. Together, we shall balance our strengths for the sake of the King.”
Pitou crossed their arms, a smirk playing on their lips. “You’ve got fancy words. I’ll give you that. So, when’s the next one of us showing up?”
Pouf closed his eyes briefly, as though searching inward. “Soon. Menthuthuyoupi’s presence is already stirring within the nest. His strength will undoubtedly add to our cause, completing our triad of devotion.”
As the two stood atop the nest, the weight of their shared purpose settled over them. Neferpitou’s restless energy crackled in the air, while Shaiapouf exuded calm control, their differences already marking the dynamic that would define their service to the King.

Shaiapouf stood tall outside the chamber, his wings folded neatly against his back, though the faint shimmer of his scales betrayed his inner tension. His antennae twitched, attempting to catch any vibrations in the air that might hint at the decisions being made behind the door. The voices within were muffled, yet they carried weight—the former Queen’s deliberations over who would ascend to the throne were nothing less than sacred to Pouf.
His slender fingers tapped rhythmically against his arm as he focused, his golden eyes narrowing. Who will it be? he wondered, his mind racing. Will they embody the perfection that I long for? Will they be a paragon of strength and wisdom, capable of ruling with the purity and grandeur befitting a King—or Queen—of our kind?
The Queen’s voice rang out, faint but firm, cutting through the hushed murmurs within the room. Pouf leaned in slightly, his regal demeanor slipping for a fraction of a second in his eagerness to catch her words. Though he could not discern the details, the tone carried an air of decisiveness. She was choosing, weighing the merits of those who might take the crown.
Pouf’s chest tightened. This is it. He took a step closer to the door but halted himself, unwilling to disrupt the sanctity of the moment. Who among them will prove worthy of us? The idea of serving a lesser ruler, one unworthy of the devotion of the Royal Guards, made his stomach churn.
He closed his eyes and let out a slow breath, regaining his composure. His scales faintly glittered as his emotions surged, his deep devotion to the idea of a flawless monarch making his longing palpable. I must trust in the Queen’s wisdom. She will choose someone deserving of my loyalty, someone who will carry our people into a new era of glory.
Yet doubt crept into his mind, unbidden. What if... No. He would not allow such thoughts. Perfection would prevail. It had to.
The sound of a chair scraping against the floor made his antennae twitch. The meeting was concluding. Pouf straightened his posture, his hands clasping behind his back as he prepared himself. Soon, the doors would open, and the new ruler of their kind would be revealed. His heart beat steadily, and yet a fire burned within him, a desire to serve, to uplift, to ensure that their monarch would embody the purity and greatness he so desperately sought.
The door creaked, and light spilled into the corridor. With every fiber of his being, Shaiapouf resisted the urge to rush forward. Instead, he waited, calm and poised, though his golden eyes burned with anticipation.
