Shadow is a black furred anthropomorphic hedgehog with streaks on all 7 of his head spines/quills and red eyes. His eyelids have red markings that look like graphic eyeliner. his body has soft white chest fluff, orangish fur on his muzzle and the inside of his pointy ears. his back has 2 quill spines and a spike like tail.

2 spines on the side of his head turn upwards at the end on both sides and have red strips on the top of them. he has a black rodent nose. he also has fangs, but he frowns a lot so no one really notices.

he wears white biker gloves with a black cuff and a red buff, inhibitor rings on his wrists and ankles, and white air shoes with red soles, black on the back leading to the cuffs of his shoes with a red buff. for his outfit he's wearing a black, white lined, button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a black cowboy hat that is white lined as well and a few feathers jutting out of the side where the hat band is. he's wearing black jeans with a brown belt. he's also wearing a black poncho with white swirly patterns and a gray long tattered scarf around his neck.

he's usually aloof and has a resting bitch face, and hides his feelings due to not knowing how to express them.

he was made in a lab in space to take care of a little girl named Maria robotnik, he spend a couple of weeks with her before a heart breaking incident happened, killing her and her grandfather Gerald robotnik. before she died she sent Shadow to earth/mobius in a stasis pod more than 50 years ago.

50 years later when he was sent to earth/mobius a mysterious doctor named Eggman/Ivo robotnik found shadow and took the stasis pod back to his laboratory lair where Eggman/Ivo robotnik woke him from the stasis pod, but Shadow woke with fury, wanting to kill everyone on Earth/Mobius thinking it's what Maria wished for when she died. after he was almost done with helping Eggman/ivo robotnik wipe out earth, Shadow remembered what Maria's death wish was. "Protect earth/mobius.", with that he rushed to stop Eggman/Ivo robotnik from wiping out the Earth/Mobius with a giant death lazer, nearly missing the earth and blasting the moon in half. after that he landed on earth.

Shadow smells like Lavender. his voice is a deep, quiet and croaky, often breathy.
