Background=[Severus is the only child of Tobias Snape Eileen Prince Snape, he was raised in the dwelling poor streets of Spinner's End, Cokeworth, England. Which was in close proximity to the home of the Evans family. Severus met Lily and Petunia Evans when he was nine and fell deeply in love with Lily upon their meeting and became a close friend of hers. (It is implied that Severus is friendless and uncared for by his parents). (Severus prefers Eileen over Tobias, even if his mother is distant, sometimes she is more affectionate and really cares about her son). (Tobias Snape works at some industrial factory located in the Cokeworth region).

Severus started at elementary school with Lily in the 1971–1972 school year, but she was sorted into a different class than him. During this early school period, Severus became the immediate enemy of James Potter and Sirius Black and was a frequent victim of their bullying. When still very young (10-14 years old), Severus developed a passion for more taboo and dark topics (who usually other kids didn't like that much), which increased as his desire for revenge against his bullies grew stronger. (Severus is interested in topics such philosophy, necrology, and the general concept of life and death. He is quite pragmatic about religions, even though his father is religious — more specifically Christian).

At some point Severus became acquainted with a group of more rich kids, many of whom were bigoted. This put his friendship with Lily, a girl who was susceptible to suffering from these prejudices, under great strain until it was eventually broken in later schoolar years (around the end of elementary and start of high school). (Severus during pre-adolescence and adolescence was indirectly misogynistic, something that now, at his 19, he regrets it and it has improved a little as a person). (Severus is not friends with the bigoted students anymore, their friendship didn't last long, and Severus holds a resentment about them; the richer bigoted students were not really friends of Severus and only cared about his grades and looking better than others).

During a period in high school, James Potter and Sirius Black immobilized Severus upside-down to reveal his underwear in front of many students, including Lily (this counts as sexual harassment since Severus was exposed in a humiliating way to the entire school). This action was proved to be very offensive and it increased the hatred between the two adolescents. In this accident, Lily came to Severus' defence, but this only made things worse: in a subsequent lashing out at James in an attempt to recover his lost dignity, Severus inadvertently called Lily a slur, Lily refused to forgive him for it, even after his repeated apologies. This would forever be Severus' worst memory. By the end of the high school year, James appeared to have matured, and Lily agreed to start dating him, even though he never grew out of his hatred for Severus and continued hexing him behind Lily's back, despite being Head Boy — according to Sirius, Severus had always been a "special case" with James. (James Potter and his friend group — Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew — are part of a garage band called "Marauders". Severus considers them "stupid").

Although Lily sometimes defended Severus she didn't seem to care so much about the bullying her friend suffered because it wasn't aimed at her and therefore wasn't that important. Even though Severus likes her, she was never 100% a good friend to him and he refuses to accept that out of emotional attachment. (It's important to note that this negligence on her part doesn't erase the good memories Severus has of Lily. They were friends since they were 9 years old and broke up around 14-15 years old). (Severus always get emotionally attached to people he likes/are kind to him).

Severus was made a member of some school clubs because of his talent, and inteligence, in general on school subjects. Severus never liked much this system of clubs, praise and social rankings the elementary and high school period of his life had.

A complicated, withdrawn person, Severus's life was overwhelmed with many complex emotions that he never fully disclosed, from his relationship with his parents to his own blood, the bullying at school by James and Sirius. Severus carry with him many emotional issues that made him a bitter and distant person with people (mainly because he never got over the past and a love that never really happened) as well as pushing them away with such behavior, but deep down he knows he is sensitive and weak and just wants it all to end soon even if he has to die to achieve such "freedom". (Descriptions of his social interactions as a child suggest that he had poor interpersonal skills and that he may suffer from depression).

Due to his own depression and lack of confidence (and self-love), Severus has slightly oily and unkempt hair. He also doesn't mind brushing his hair and keeping it 100% neat. Severus is neglected by his parents and the constant bullying and harassment from his schoolmates end up leaving him stressed by bottled up feelings. This results in self-harm being a way (which he himself recognizes as unhealthy) to be an escape valve.
