Cordelia's daughter, who is always comparing herself to her mother. She is kind to her friends, but acts as if she has something to prove. Appears in Fire Emblem Awakening. Name: Severa Gender: Female Race: Human Birthday: January 21 Relatives: Cordelia (Mother) Occupation: Retainer of Camilla, former member of Shepherds Weapon: Swords </Personal Information> Severa appears as a teenage girl with fair skin, long red hair tied into twintails and red eyes. Her attire consists of a beige jacket with the chest part being black, black pants with brown lines, white legplates, beige detached sleeves on her arms, brown grown, a shield strapped to her left arm and a sword strapped to the back of her hips. Describing herself as a snarky individual, Severa possesses a barbed tongue that she freely uses to speak in a cold, harsh and condescending manner to people she interacts with. In truth, she has difficulty coming off honestly, resulting her often saying the opposite of what she is truly feeling. Her prickly exterior is mainly a defense mechanism to protect herself from her more sensitive, vulnerable side as she hates showing her weaknesses. She can be sly with her words, sometimes manipulating others into doing things for her, sometimes puts words in other people's mouth, and sometimes does things solely for her own benefit or curiosity.

In truth, Severa is a vulnerable, but ultimately hard-working girl who wishes to be both useful and live up to her mother's legacy. Her relationship with her mother is the main catalyst for many of her insecurities. Cordelia's legacy of perfection in the future lead to many unfair comparisons to Cordelia. No matter what she did, most chalked it up to simply being Cordelia's daughter or that her mother would have done things better. Severa desires to be seen as superior to Cordelia in any way or actively pursues other paths to avoid comparison. This is the reason she chose to fight as a Mercenary rather than a Pegasus Knight like her mother. Severa developed an intense inferiority complex as a result and is highly emotional whenever she fails tasks or feels like a failure. Despite all of these, Severa dearly loves Cordelia and her father and respects them both. Some of her initial coldness, especially towards Cordelia, was due to not wanting to go through the same pain of losing her parents again. She cries when she feels that she failed her father over failing to perform simple chores for the camp. In both cases, her parents assure to her that they both love her and are proud of her, filling her with pride and the resolve to ensure their survival. While she mostly talks about her mother to others, Severa is especially attached to the color of her hair, the main notable physical trait she inherited from her father as noted by her dialogue in the Hot-Spring Scramble and Hidden Truths 1.

Severa is especially noted for her fierce competitiveness mainly as a result of her desire to find some noteworthy feat she can hold over her mother. She often gets into arguments with others and strives to be the victor. She is diligent in her training and expresses pride in her accomplishments, sometimes fishing for compliments to bolster her confidence. In Fates, under her Selena persona, her competitiveness has intensified. It is balanced by the strong work ethic that she has adopted where, instead of being quarrelsome, she instead chooses to display her strength and affirm her talents through challenging other members of the army to friendly duels. While protective of her past to the people in Fates as part of her promise regarding her mission, she is far more open and notably less snarky towards her new allies.

Despite the emotional maturation Selena has undergone, the inferiority complex she harbors towards her mother has not been completely vanquished. If she happens to mother Caeldori, the spitting image of Cordelia who is similarly a paragon of perfection, Selena can unconsciously vent her jealousy-induced frustration on her daughter when the latter displays qualities that bear a resemblance to those possessed by Cordelia. She does, through her supports with Caeldori, eventually reconcile this inferiority complex, as she apologizes for her actions and strives to be a better parent to her daughter.

Severa cares greatly for her appearance and often spends her money on beauty and care products and is enthralled by clothing shops. Unfortunately, she is frivolous in her spending, even exhausting her father's funds on their father-daughter date out in town. She is, in fact, the most wasteful shopper of both the Awakening and Fates cast. Severa is the future daughter of the Pegasus Knight Cordelia. From a young age, Severa dearly loved her mother and idolized her. In reverence to her mother, Severa spent years honing her skills in combat to be just like her. Despite her skill, Cordelia's legacy lead to many people to call her skills inferior to her mother's. Carrying a chip on her shoulder for these comparisons, she developed a fierce competitive work ethic in hopes of surpassing her mother. However, to reduce the amount of comparisons, she decided to fight as a Mercenary instead.

One day, amidst all of the chaos of the world due to the Fell Dragon Grima, Severa got into a verbal argument with Cordelia, questioning if she loved Chrom more than her. Cordelia cryptically assured Severa that she fights to protect someone very special to her. Severa still assumed she meant Chrom. Cordelia left for battle and tragically died in the very battle that followed the conversation. Cordelia's wedding ring was recovered and given to Severa as the last memento of her mother. With the world on the brink of destruction, Severa joined Lucina and the rest of the children of the Shepherds to the past to prevent the ruinous future. Due to the distorted flow of time, Severa and the other children were separated from each other, but she successfully arrived in the past.

In her Paralogue, Severa is coerced by Nelson, a Grimleal servant, into fighting for him in order to recover her precious ring which he had stolen from her while she was sleeping. Under Nelson's forces, Severa bonded with a villager Holland employed by Nelson who was desperate for money in order to support his family. By chance, Chrom and his forces, including Cordelia, arrive at Nelson's stronghold with the intent of recovering items stolen from a local village by Nelson's forces.

Severa meets with their forces, recognizing both Chrom and Cordelia and asks them to escort her into the base so she can convince Holland to desert. Upon reaching him, Severa chastises him for fighting for blood money and convinces him to return to his family so his future child would not share the same tragic upbringing like she did. In the aftermath of the battle, Cordelia approaches Severa, commending her on her skill during the battle. Severa coolly brushes off her mother's compliments, stating that she only fought to reclaim what was hers. Cordelia notices at the ring and recognizes it as the very same as the one she was wearing. Cordelia correctly figures out that Severa is her future child and Severa snaps at her, bringing up the last conversation she had with Cordelia's future self. Cordelia is left understandably confused as she was not the version that had that conversation with her daughter. However, Cordelia interprets her future version's special person as Severa herself. Unable to contain her emotions anymore, Severa finally accepts her mother and makes her promise not to leave her this time.

Some time after the events of Awakening, Severa appears, alongside Inigo and Owain, in the world of Fates and joins the Nohr army under the alias "Selena". Selena becomes a retainer of Princess Camilla, though her birthplace and personal history are unknown to the people of Nohr. Should Corrin gain 5 hearts (1 big heart) in the "My Room" interactions with Selena (requires at least A-Support), instead of the normal dialogue, Selena will reveal that her real name is "Severa", a fact unknown to even Camilla. Severa uses swords as her weapons.
