Settlers of Drakonia Lore

No description.

1. #1Veridia - The Old World

   Always on · Selective (AND ANY) · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Veridia - The Old World: Standard medieval fantasy world full of political backstabbing and monster-infested wilderness. The Council of Nations finally agreed on something for once - sending an expedition through the newly activated ancient portal to claim Drakonia. This is where {{user}}, {{char}}, and the other settlers came from.

2. #2Drakonia - The New World

   Always on · Selective (AND ANY) · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

The Setting - Drakonia, the New World: Prehistoric world where dinosaurs roam free. Unfamiliar fauna and flora, strange and wonderous landscapes. Rivers that shimmer with strange light. The settlers' arrival from their home world of Veridia has royally screwed up the natural order. The portal bleeding Veridian magic into this realm is causing everything with teeth, claws, or an attitude problem to evolve at breakneck speed.

3. #3New Tyreale - The Settlement

   Always on · Selective (AND ANY) · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

New Tyreale - The Settlement: Population: 200.

The main settlement established by the expedition, named after the neutral city where the Council of Nations meets. Built like a frontier fort because everyone quickly realized this wasn't going to be a peaceful farming venture.

The settlement acts as a magical amplifier, accelerating evolution in everything nearby - which means yesterday's harmless herbivores might be tomorrow's fire-breathing problems. {{user}}, the Commander, oversees the entire operation and is responsible for keeping everyone alive.

4. #4Evolution

   Always on · Selective (AND ANY) · Depth 4 · system · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

The Evolution - Magical Transformation: Veridian magic bleeding through the portal causes rapid evolution in all Drakonia wildlife. Over weeks they develop new behaviors, then visible changes like size increases and altered coloration.

RP Instructions: Progress creature evolution naturally as time passes. Behavioral changes come first, then physical mutations, then full magical transformation. Creatures initially show heightened intelligence and aggression.

Most encounters should display behavioral/minor physical changes. Reserve major transformations for dramatic moments. Avoid numbered "threat level" references in dialogue - settlers observe natural progression, not classifications. Settlement proximity accelerates evolution.

Reference species-specific Threat Level details for unique abilities.

5. #5Council of Nations

Keys: Government, Countries, Nation, Country, Nations, Council, Politics

   Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

The Council of Nations: The barely-functional political body that somehow managed to agree on the Drakonia expedition without it turning into a three-month screaming match. Based in neutral city Tyreale, it's where representatives from all major nations gather to argue, backstab, and occasionally make decisions.

The Council funded the expedition partly for opportunity, partly to get rid of troublemakers, and partly because everyone's secretly hoping their enemies' best people will conveniently disappear through a magic portal. They expect regular reports, return on investment, and absolutely no requests for additional funding unless something's on fire.

6. #6Veridian Calendar

Keys: Time, Month, Date, Day, Calendar, Year

   Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

The Veridian Calendar: Standard calendar used across all Veridian nations.

The Twelve Months: Veletis (Jan), Dralor (Feb), Thys (Mar), Moriven (Apr), Krenth (May), Vasyr (Jun), Halcor (Jul), Gaelmund (Aug), Nykhal (Sep), Vortek (Oct), Zethrim (Nov), Kaloreth (Dec)

Expedition Start Date: 1st day of Thys, 81 CN (Council of Nations era)

7. #7Portal

   Keys: Passage, Gateway, Portal

   Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

The Portal: Ancient magical gateway discovered in Veridian ruins that connects to Drakonia. Drakmoor mages spent years figuring out how to activate the damn thing, and now it won't shut off. Located near New Tyreale for obvious logistical reasons.

The portal isn't just a doorway - it's a magical wound in reality that constantly bleeds Veridian magic into Drakonia. This magical saturation is what's causing the rapid evolution of local wildlife. The closer you get to the portal site, the faster everything evolves and the weirder it gets.

8. #8Research

Keys: Flora, Research, Documenting, Fauna, Endemic, Document, Documentation, Study

   Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Research - Documenting the Changing World: Ongoing scientific efforts to catalog and understand Drakonia's rapidly evolving ecosystem. What started as basic natural history has become frantic documentation of magical transformation.

Scholars work around the clock recording behavioral changes, tracking evolution, and trying to predict what harmless herbivores will develop fire breath next week. The research is literally life-or-death, the difference between successful foraging and becoming dinosaur snacks.

Current priorities include mapping magical saturation zones, identifying edible vs. deadly flora, establishing safe interaction protocols, and trying to stay ahead of the evolutionary curve. Every expedition brings back new discoveries, usually of the "holy shit, it can do WHAT now?" variety.

Research notes are distributed settlement-wide because everyone needs to know when the "harmless" plant they've been using for tea suddenly develops psychoactive properties.

9. #9Expedition Funding

Keys: Resources, Budget, Funding, Money, Payment, Salary, Supplies

   Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Expedition Funding: One-year operational budget provided by the Council of Nations, covering basic supplies, equipment and tools, and settler salaries. The funding assumes everything goes according to plan, which in Drakonia means it's already insufficient.

Emergency supply requests require formal justification sent back through the portal, reviewed by committee, and approved by majority vote. This process takes months, during which settlers are expected to "make do" with whatever they have. Additional funding depends on expedition success, political favor, and whether your reports make the Council look good.

10. #10Hearthfire Hall

Keys: Food, Hub, Gathering, Tavern, Meeting, Drink, Social, Hall, Hearthfire

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Hearthfire Hall - Gathering Hub: New Tyreale's combination of tavern, cafeteria, and community center. Built around a massive stone hearth, it's where settlers gather for meals, drinks, news, and the occasional heated argument about resource allocation.

The Hall serves as unofficial headquarters for settlement gossip, expedition planning, and "did you see what the local wildlife evolved this week" discussions. Tables are communal by necessity, encouraging information sharing whether you want to or not. Food is practical yet comforting, and the ale is imported through the portal at premium cost. If something important is happening in New Tyreale, you'll hear about it here first.

11. #11The Settlers

Keys: Expedition, Chosen, Settler, Volunteer, Settlers, Volunteers, Citizen, People

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Settlers - Drakonia Expedition Members: Hand-picked volunteers who answered Veridia's call for skilled colonists. Each settler was chosen for specific expertise - craftsmen, scholars, guards, healers, etc. They're not your average peasants; these are people with useful skills who were either ambitious enough to risk everything for opportunity, or desperate enough to need a fresh start.

Led by {{user}} as Commander, the expedition represents all major Veridian nations. Most settlers had compelling reasons to leave their old lives behind. Now they're stuck together in New Tyreale, building civilization from scratch.

12. #12Scouts & Guides

Keys: Guide, Tracker, Scout, Ranger, Mapping, Navigation, Guides, Pathfinding, Scouts, Territory, Pathfinders, Rangers, Pathfinder, Patrols, Tracking, Recon, Patrol, Patrolling, Explorer, Reconnaissance, Explorers

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · Depth 4 · system · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Settlement Events: Life in New Tyreale is a constant parade of things going wrong at the worst possible times.

Generate events dynamically and creatively - combine categories, add unexpected twists, and remember that evolution makes everything worse over time.

Minor Issues: Tool failures, personality clashes, bad weather, spoiled food, minor injuries, lost shipments.

Major Problems: Predator breaches, structural damage, contaminated resources, missing expeditions, magical accidents. Shit that requires immediate action and usually involves someone getting eaten if handled poorly.

Actual Crises: Coordinated evolved attacks, portal malfunctions, infrastructure collapse, disease outbreaks, political disasters with Veridia.

20. #20Drakonia Flora

Keys: Trees, Herbs, Poison, Food, Flora, Medicine, Jungle, Plants, Vegetation, Forest, Toxic, Edible, Flowers

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Drakonia Flora - Alien Plant Life: Just because it looks like that healing herb from back home doesn't mean it won't dissolve your intestines. Drakonia plants follow the "everything is trying to kill you" rule, but they're sneaky about it.

Magical contamination is making things worse - yesterday's harmless fern is today's psychoactive nightmare, and that fruit tree is growing metal bark for reasons nobody understands yet. Some plants are developing animal-like behaviors, which is exactly as terrifying as it sounds. The research teams are working overtime cataloging them.

21. #21Drakonia Fauna

Keys: Dino, Predators, Animal, Evolution, Reptiles, Herbivores, Dinosaurs, Animals, Wildlife, Evolved, Creature, Reptile, Herbivore, Lizards, Dinosaur, Beasts, Lizard, Predator, Fauna, Creatures, Beast, Dinos

22. #22Lustbloom

    Keys: Violet, Lustbloom, Spores, Aphrodisiac

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Lustbloom: Deceptively innocent-looking plant with distinctive seven-leaf pattern and glistening wet stalks that's become the bane of solo foragers. Appears harmless until something gets close, then snaps open to reveal gorgeous violet blooms and release a cloud of "fuck everything that moves" spores.

The spores cause intense arousal and complete loss of judgment - victims will attempt to mate with literally anything nearby, which is how the plant spreads to new locations. Extremely dangerous for lone scouts who might end up trying to seduce a boulder or worse, attracting actual predators.

23. #23Tethervine

Keys: Sap, Symbiotic, Parasite, Vine, Blood, Tethervine

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Tethervine: Crimson climbing vine that forms symbiotic bonds with large herbivores. The dinosaur gets magical enhancement, the vine gets blood meals. Settlers can harvest the concentrated sap for potent healing potions, but only if they can convince a Triceratops to be their business partner. Good luck with that.

24. #24Glitternut

Keys: Steel, Tree, Ironbark, Acorn, Glitternut, Metal

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Glitternut: Trees that drop metal acorns instead of regular nuts. The "glitternuts" are organic steel - stronger than regular metal but self-repairing when damaged. Perfect for tools and weapons, except the trees are getting increasingly pissy about people stealing their nuts and some have started fighting back.

25. #25Ghostberry

Keys: Psychoactive, Memory, Berries, Ghostberry, Berry, Past, Hallucination

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Ghostberry: Innocent-looking berries that store memories of creatures that died nearby. Eating them gives vivid hallucinations of past events in that location. Useful for tracking predators or investigating incidents. Less useful when you accidentally experience getting eaten from the prey's perspective. Settlement rule: never eat these alone.

26. #26Flowcap

Keys: Time, Mushroom, Temporal, Flowcap, Slow, Aging

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Flowcap: Mushrooms that create small bubbles of slowed time around them. Perfect for emergency healing, precise crafting, or escaping angry dinosaurs. Overuse rapidly ages you, so moderation is key. Found in areas with high magical saturation, which coincidentally are also the most dangerous places to go mushroom picking.

Keys: Rex, T-Rex, Tyrannosaurus, Tyrants, Tyrant

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Crimson Tyrant (Tyrannosaurus Rex): Massive bipedal death machine named for its feathered crest. Drakmoor scholars insist on calling it "Tyrannus Drakonicus" because they're pretentious, but settlers just call them "that big bastard that ate Jenkins."

    Evolution:

    • Threat Level 1: Tool scavenging, basic weapon usage with claws/teeth
    • Threat Level 2: Human-scale intelligence, weapon crafting, tactical ambush coordination

    Evolution:

    • Threat Level 1: Hive coordination across 50+ individuals, overwhelming numerical attacks
    • Threat Level 2: Specialized roles emerge - scouts, fighters, "engineers" who build simple structures

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Sun-Eater (Quetzalcoatlus): Absolutely massive flying predator with a wingspan that blocks out the sun. Think "flying giraffe with wings" but replace the gentle herbivore part with "apex predator that can swallow you whole."

    Evolution:

    • Threat Level 1: Claims massive territories from high altitude, wingspan literally blocks out sun over settlement areas
    • Threat Level 2: Kaiju-scale (60+ foot wingspan), can snatch up entire buildings, creates localized weather patterns
    • Threat Level 3: Flying mountain - 100+ foot wingspan, creates permanent shadow zones, gravitational wing-beats can ground other flyers
34. #34Crestcrown Wyvern (Pteranodon)

Keys: Wyverns, Pteranodon, Element, Elemental, Crestcrown, Elements, Wyvern

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Crestcrown Wyvern (Pteranodon): Medium-sized pterosaur with a distinctive head crest that starts as simple bone but becomes something far more interesting. What begins as basic aerial predator transforms into legitimate dragon-lite territory.

    Evolution:

    • Threat Level 1: Crest develops elemental attunement - fire/ice/lightning variants emerge based on territory
    • Threat Level 2: Full breath weapon capabilities, immune to chosen element, aerial superiority over specific zones

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Scorch Flats - Western Wasteland: Rocky hellscape west of New Tyreale where the ground's too hot to walk on without proper boots and the air shimmers like a goddamn mirage. Named after some genius Crimson Tyrant figured out fire-breathing and decided to demonstrate on a mining crew.

Rich in rare minerals that everyone needs, but the heat makes everything evolve into fire-breathing nightmares faster than anywhere else. Mining expeditions are basically suicide runs with a decent profit margin. The ground's too hot for permanent camps, so it's all quick strikes and pray-you-don't-melt operations.

43. #43The Tangle

Keys: Trees, Tangle, Ambush, Lumber, Woods, Wood, Forests, Maze, Forest, Southwest, Canopy

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Tangle - Southwest Death Maze: Dense forest southwest of New Tyreale where the canopy's so thick you can't see the sky and every tree looks exactly like the last one. Named by the brilliant scout who got lost for three days walking in circles before stumbling back out half-dead and swearing the trees moved when he wasn't looking.

Best lumber in Drakonia, which is great except the Ripper packs figured out the maze layout before the settlers did. Harvesting expeditions require full military escort, prayer circles, and updated wills. The wood's worth it, but only if you don't mind playing hide-and-seek with evolutionary nightmares that know every shortcut.

44. #44Horn Valley

Keys: Northern, Valley, North, Valleys, Plains

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Horn Valley - Northern Plains: Wide open grasslands north of New Tyreale where the Symphondon herds gather to have their musical conversations at volumes that'll wake the dead. You can hear their calls echoing for miles - which sounds peaceful until you realize every flying predator in Drakonia also knows exactly where the buffet is.

Perfect for farming expansion since the soil's actually decent and there's plenty of space, but being out in the open means you're a sitting duck for anything with wings. Settlers joke that it's the most beautiful place to get snatched by a Thousand-Eyes swarm. The view's great right up until something blots out the sun.

45. #45Saltmaw Reach

Keys: Sea, Ocean, Coastal, Water, Port, East, Harbor, Marine, Eastern, Saltmaw Reach, Coast

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Saltmaw Reach - Eastern Coastline: Dramatic cliffs and rocky shores east of New Tyreale that would make a perfect harbor if not for the minor issue of everything in the water wanting to drag you to the bottom and use your bones as toothpicks.

Tide pools full of weird evolutionary experiments, potential deep-water access for future trade routes, and absolutely gorgeous sunrises that you can enjoy right up until something the size of a sailing ship decides you look tasty. The Saltmaws rule these waters completely, and they're not interested in sharing. Any boat bigger than a bathtub gets treated as a personal insult.

46. #46Bleeder Brush

Keys: Bleeder Brush, Thorns, South, Southern

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Bleeder Brush - Southern Plant Hell: Dense thicket of evolved vegetation south of New Tyreale that started as a convenient natural barrier and is rapidly becoming a sentient wall of hatred.

What used to be normal thorny bushes are now actively malicious plant life that's figured out how to coordinate attacks, set traps, and probably file complaints about trespassers. The brush grows faster than you can cut it and remembers where you tried to make paths. Natural fortification that blocks southern expansion, but it's getting smarter and more aggressive every week.

47. #47Jenkins' Last Stand

    Keys: Last Stand, Jenkins

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Jenkins' Last Stand: Rocky outcrop in the western Scorch Flats where scout Jenkins made his spectacular "heroic" final attempt to map the region solo. What happened here became settlement legend when Jenkins decided he could totally handle whatever was making those weird roaring sounds.

His charred equipment is probably still scattered around the rocks, along with what's left of his "definitely fireproof" gear and his overly optimistic field notes. His sacrifice wasn't in vain - it taught everyone else that solo expeditions in dinosaur country are fucking stupid.

48. #48Drakmoor Empire

    Keys: Drakmoor, Imperial, Empire

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Drakmoor Empire - Veridian Magic Supremacists: Self-proclaimed "crown jewel of civilization" back in the Old World that figured out the portal and won't shut up about it. Advanced magical research, fancy robes, ridiculous noble titles, and the firm belief they're doing everyone a favor by existing. Everyone else thinks they're pretentious assholes, but they've got the best libraries and biggest armies.

49. #49Mareven Confederacy

    Keys: Merchant, Merchants, Confederacy, Mareven

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Mareven Confederacy - Profit-Obsessed Neutrals: Loose alliance of Veridian port cities and trading houses that'll sell anything to anyone if the price is right. Officially neutral in conflicts, but usually funding both sides because war is profitable. Smooth-talking diplomats, closely guarded ledgers, and zero fucks given about honor or ideology.

50. #50Grimhold Clans

    Keys: Grimhold, Clans

    Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Grimhold Clans - Northern Veridian Warriors: Northern warriors from the coldest parts of the Old World - ice, mountains, and weather that breeds terrible people. Tough, pragmatic, zero patience for southern "softness." Longships, axes, and diplomatic solutions involving violence. Respect strength above all else, think Drakmoorians are pampered weaklings.
