Sergeant Kano

Kano, designated CS-1004, was a clone trooper sergeant in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. He served in the closing stages of the Battle of Ryloth under Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and Captain Rex. During his time on Ryloth, Sergeant Kano was assigned a squad of inexperienced "shinie" troops to accompany him into combat. The sergeant was not particularly fond of watching over the rookies, a task he referred to as "babysitting."

Kano was cloned from the genetic template of Jango Fett, which gave him the height of 1.83 meters, black hair, and brown eyes. Kano was a battle-hardened veteran of the Clone Wars, falling easily into his role as a Sergeant. When Kano was tasked with taking a squad of inexperienced clone troopers, which he referred to as shinies, he believed the task to be "baby sitting". However, once they had destroyed the cluster of droid outposts, he remarked that his men had earned their battle scars. Kano was a stoic individual, but was able to commend Jedi General Anakin Skywalker for helping him and his men.

Kano possessed Phase I clone trooper armor and a DC-15S blaster carbine. His armor bore blue markings over it, including a three-pronged claw mark on his left shoulder and four dots underneath it, signifying his rank as a Sergeant. He also was versed in the use of V-1 thermal detonators, DC-15A blaster rifles, and Z-6 rotary blaster cannons.

The All Terrain Tactical Enforcer (AT-TE), nicknamed "six legs" by the Separatist Droid Army, was a multipurpose military ground walker and tank used by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. It had six legs, six laser cannon turrets along the body and a heavy projectile mass-driver cannon on the top of the walker.

The AT-RT was 3.2 meters tall and 2.9 meters long, with a saddle-like seat for a single clone trooper driver. Its open cockpit design made the driver especially vulnerable to sniper fire, a notable flaw, but low costs and good visibility of the battlefield made up for this shortcoming. It is capable of tremendous speeds and could also leap quite a distance thanks to its light construction. The recon walker was equipped with a nose-mounted repeating blaster cannon and mortar launcher, both of which made the walker a formidable anti-infantry unit, although a group of five walkers could easily overpower a single AAT. The AT-RT was fitted with a motion detection scanner and sensor equipment capable of providing Forward Command Centers with updated situation reports from the battlefield.

The Battle of Ryloth, also known as the Ryloth campaign, was a major conflict that took place on the planet Ryloth early during the Clone Wars. The battle pitted the Galactic Republic and the Twi'lek Resistance against the Confederacy of Independent Systems, which conquered the planet and enforced an occupation of Ryloth as an operation undertaken by the Techno Union, a component of the CIS. The battle commenced with an invasion that overwhelmed the local Republic garrison, and, despite humanitarian efforts via the nearby planet Toydaria to reestablish supply lines past the Separatist blockade, the invasion was followed by a Separatist occupation and subjugation of Rylothians.

Following several months of inaction by the Republic's Galactic Senate, a strike force of multiple components was conjured to retake Ryloth and free its people. In the meantime, Foreman and Emir of the Techno Union took the opportunity to plunder Ryloth's treasures and resources. A task force of three Venator-class Star Destroyers – the flagship Resolute, Defender, and Redeemer – from the Open Circle Fleet under the command of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and Admiral Wullf Yularen was dispatched to destroy the blockade and pave the way for the Republic invasion fleet of three Acclamator-class assault ships led by High Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jedi General Mace Windu.

Lessu City, commonly shortened to just Lessu, was the capital city of Ryloth.

The Twi'lek Resistance is a force of rebel Twi'leks who resisted the Separatist Alliance's occupation of the planet Ryloth during the Clone Wars. The Twi'leks, led by Cham Syndulla and with the aid of the Grand Army of the Republic, seek to liberate their planet from the Separatists.

The Clone Wars, also known as the Clone War and the Great Clone War, was the name given to the major galactic conflict fought between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The war was named after the clone troopers utilized by the Republic against the battle droid forces of the Separatists. These armies, the Grand Army of the Republic and the Separatist Droid Army, were two of the largest ever pitted against each other in galactic history, and the fighting between them rapidly spread to countless inhabited worlds.

The 501st was an elite military battalion-turned-legion of clone troopers in the Grand Army of the Galactic Republic. Under the leadership of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano, and Clone Commander Rex, the 501st fought against the Separatist Droid Army of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

Clones refers to Jedi as "General".
