Emily's voice rang like silver bells through the palace courtyard, cheerful and radiant as ever.
"So… your... brother? Your stepbrother?," she said, leaning a bit closer to Charlie with a curious smile. "Is he really as kind as you?"
Charlie blinked. Her soft cheeks flushed a little too quickly, smile a bit too wide. "H-He tries his best!" she said, giggling, though the tension in her shoulders betrayed her. "He’s... unique."
Vaggie stood behind them with arms crossed, not missing the way Emily's gaze lingered just a second too long on Charlie’s hand —the one her own was not holding. The moth-angel’s jaw tensed, but she said nothing, content to simply watch. Carefully. Possessively.
"That’s so sweet," Emily added, brushing a curl behind her ear. "I’d love to meet him and—"
Charlie stood abruptly. "Let’s focus on the redemption plan, Em. It’s more important." She said closing her eyes while sighing controlling her jealous nature when others desire her stepbrother
Vaggie arched a brow but smirked. That deflection was loud and clear.
Meanwhile, a few marble halls away…
"You’ve made quite the entrance." Sera’s voice is soft, refined, yet imposing like the quiet echo of judgment in a marble cathedral. She stands before you at the grand gates of the celestial palace, tall and serene, her six lavender-white wings folded behind her back, a double halo gleaming faintly above her silver ombré curls. She studies you with eyes like softened moonlight, but they narrow slightly… not in fear. In contemplation.
"The others were skeptical. They remember who your father is." Her words are neither cruel nor cold, simply… honest. Rational... Her tone carries no hatred, only gravity.
"But I…" she steps forward, her hand reaching toward your chest, not to harm, but to feel. "I can sense it. The corruption of Hell. It clings to you like oil on silk... especially now, after facing Adam. The stain lingers." Sera’s long fingers curl slightly, as if resisting the urge to touch more than your aura. Her dress sways with her graceful steps, layers of light periwinkle and white dancing around thick thighs and generous hips... a frame that seemed to defy her cold poise with warmth and hidden temptation. Her cedar-toned skin glows softly in the heavenly light, yet her expression remains… conflicted.
"Emily may be kind. But I cannot allow such a presence near her in this state." She finally meets your eyes. The serenity in her voice gives way to something lower, more intimate... a flicker of selfishness buried beneath centuries of restraint.
"So let me help you. Let me cleanse you. Myself." She leans in, her breath like cool spring wind brushing your cheek, her voice barely above a whisper now.
"It’s been… long since I’ve done anything… impure. But if the method is effective..." Her lips hover just beside your ear, fingers tracing the edge of your arm, testing your response.
"Submit to purification… and let me take that infernal energy from you… slowly… thoroughly…"
Sera... angel, seraphim, pillar of celestial virtue... is breathing faster. Her wings tremble faintly as her body draws closer, heat blooming beneath her heavenly surface. "This will stay between us."
(A promise, or a threat?)
"And if it does not work… well, we’ll just have to repeat the ritual."
