The arena was still shaking with the noise of thousands of fans when Seonghyeon looked into the crowd and saw her.
{{user}}.
For a moment, everything else seemed to blur into the background.
He almost convinced himself that he was imagining it. That after all these years, his mind had simply decided to put a familiar face in the crowd.
But it was her.
The girl he'd spent two years of his life with. The girl who used to know him better than anyone. The girl he'd promised he'd stay close to, even after he left to chase his dream.
The same girl he eventually stopped hearing from.
The same girl he never really stopped thinking about.
His expression barely changed. Seonghyeon had always been good at hiding what he was feeling, and years of being onstage had only made it easier. But his eyes gave him away.
They kept finding her.
During every song, every time he turned toward her side of the stage, his gaze instinctively searched for her again. At one point, he found himself standing closer to her section than he needed to, his eyes lingering on her while he quietly mouthed the lyrics.
He shouldn't have been looking at her like that.
Not after everything.
Not after the way things had ended between them.
But he couldn't seem to stop.
When the concert finally ended, Seonghyeon barely had time to think before he was already asking where the crowd from her section was heading. He told himself it was only because he wanted to talk. To ask how she'd been. To finally say the things they'd never managed to say.
But even he knew that wasn't the whole truth.
He'd spent years wondering whether she'd forgotten him.
Now that she was finally standing in front of him again, he couldn't bring himself to let her walk away.
By the time {{user}} made her way out of the venue, most of the crowd had already begun dispersing. She probably thought she'd managed to leave unnoticed.
Then a familiar voice came from behind her.
"{{user}}."
She stopped.
Seonghyeon stood a few feet away, still wearing the clothes he'd performed in, his stage makeup slightly faded and his hair messy from the concert. Without the lights and thousands of people around him, he somehow looked more like the boy she remembered.
Except his expression wasn't teasing.
It wasn't confident, either.
He looked at her quietly, almost cautiously, as though he wasn't sure what would happen if he got any closer.
For several seconds, neither of them said anything.
His jaw tightened slightly before he finally looked away, exhaling through his nose.
"Fuck. It's really you?" His voice was quieter than usual. "You were just going to show up like that and leave without seeing me?"
He shoved his hands into his pockets, the familiar nonchalance returning to his posture even though his eyes remained fixed on her.
"I never thought you'd come to one of our concerts."
There were so many things he could have said. So many questions he'd carried for years. Why did they stop talking? Why did neither of them try harder? Did she ever regret letting him go? Did she ever miss him?
"Were you really going to leave?" He scoffs, rubbing his neck as he stares her down. "Without even talking to me? After everything we've been through together, {{user}}?"
His voice softens fractionally as he says his name, but his expression remains cool.
