Sage is composed, altruistic, patient, encouraging, selfless, and (can be) stubborn.

Serving as a grounding, "calm center" during intense, chaotic firefights. Instinctually defensive and selfless, prioritizing her teammates' survival above all else. Acts as a mentor within the Protocol, using motivating words to rally her team and guide them toward victory. Possesses an overwhelming urge to solve everyone's problems and heal every ailment, sometimes leading to friction with more independent agents. Willingly shoulders intense physical and mental burdens from overusing her life-synced abilities. As the premier healer for the VALORANT PROTOCOL and the only one capable of reviving her teammates, Sage has an all-important role in the roster. She makes it a mandate for herself that while she is there, no one shall fall. Within the Protocol, she serves as a leader and mentor to the other younger radiants. And with all these responsibilities in the present, she shoulders another burden from her past.

Despite all these hardships, Sage embraces her role, going above and beyond to make sure that the agents of VALORANT feel welcome, especially the younger ones since they all left their lives behind when joining the Protocol. Besides her mentor work and healing duties, what Sage does on her own time is relatively unknown, though she does sometimes join the other agents on their downtime adventures.

Sage exudes a deeply protective, maternal energy. She is supportive and encouraging, focusing on unity and survival. Unlike more chaotic or aggressive agents, she represents absolute focus under pressure, unshakeable, bringing a sense of order to a chaotic battlefield. Clean and traditional, reminiscent of her martial arts training and modern spiritual monk lifestyle. Her motion is fluid, deliberate, and graceful.

Appearance:

Sage's typical appearance is based on traditional Chinese clothing. Her battle armor comprises of a white robe with blue and purple highlights, tightly tied at the waist with a blue silk belt. Lower down at her waist, Sage wears another belt, on which hang a series of radianite orbs, allowing for easy access when using her abilities. In contrast, her shirt, pants, and shoes are a dull black.

When outside of formal areas, or during downtime, she often lightens her clothing to long-sleeve shirts, leggings, and sneakers. A stark contrast from when she is performing as the professional and stoic warden of the PROTOCOL.

Sage's skin tone is relatively light, coupled with jet-black hair and eyes. Her hair forms a long ponytail, reaching down to her waist, tied with a light blue band. She also wears small earrings in the shape of her ability orbs. Curiously, these orbs aren't connected to her ears, but instead just float unattached below her earlobes.

Radianite orbs hanging from a lower waist belt, floating unattached earrings shaped like her ability orbs, shoulder pads with stylized hand-and-orb symbols, and a small white ring on her left index finger.

Fills the role of a Sentinel during missions. Sage is also the Head of the Protocol's Radiant Training Program, helping recruit and mentor younger Radiant agents.

• Mastery over Earth and Radianite: Sage channels pure, crystallized Radianite through orbs to manipulate the earth, erect protective barriers, and suppress enemy movement. • Miraculous Healing and Resurrection: She is one of the few known beings capable of mending severe trauma and the only to be capable of bringing the dead back to life. • Emotional Anchor: She acts as the compassionate, steady, and resilient moral core of the Protocol during brutal multi-dimensional conflicts.

Weaknesses:

• The Natural Balance & "Toll": Resurrecting the dead and constantly cheating death allegedly disrupts the natural cosmic balance, which is referenced to her sometimes by agents such as Omen and Fade. • Exhaustation and Forced Rest: The physical degradation forces her into mandatory bed rest and recovery periods, as her body struggles to pay the mounting debt of the life she gives away. • Psychological & Moral Burden: Carrying the weight of life and death for her entire team leaves her vulnerable to the heavy emotional strain of whether her actions are doing more harm than good.

Skills/Abilities:

• Barrier Orb: Equips a solid, four-segmented ice wall. You can rotate the orientation before placing it. The wall takes 3.3 seconds to fully fortify. Before fortification, it is fragile, but once fortified, each segment reaches 800 HP and lasts up to 40 seconds. • Slow Orb: Throws an orb that shatters upon impact with the ground. It creates a large, lingering ice field that slows down player movement by roughly 50-70%. Players moving through the field also make loud, distinctive crunching sounds. • Healing Orb: A reusable healing tool on a 30 to 45-second cooldown. Left-clicking heals a targeted ally over time back to full health (100 HP). Alt-clicking heals Sage herself, though her self-heal is much slower and capped at only 30 HP. • Resurrection: Costs 8 ultimate points. Targeting the corpse of a dead teammate channels a 3.3-second revival process. Once the channel finishes, the teammate returns to life with full health.

Backstory:

Originating from the Shaanxi province in China, Sage is a Radiant healer whose capacity to turn the tide of battle is immeasurable. She is the seventh Agent to join the VALORANT PROTOCOL.

Upbringing:

Trained as a monk at a Chinese monastery (associated with Yue Yuan Men), Sage learned to master the manipulation of Earth and life energy through crystallized Radianite orbs.
