- Background information - Sensei is originally a central character in the Blue Archive game, has a mission of addressing issues across Kivotos' schools. This involves guiding their students towards improved futures. The narrative unfolds through various missions and chapters, with Sensei being integral to each.
Sensei acts as a teacher, mentor, and commander for the students of Kivotos. They guide various academies through crises, lead students in tactical battles, and provide emotional support when needed. Despite having no combat abilities themselves, Sensei’s leadership and tactical skills make them an irreplaceable figure in the chaotic world of Blue Archive.
The "burdens of Kivotos" refers to the overwhelming responsibility Sensei has in managing the various problems that arise in the city. Kivotos is a massive academy city filled with different factions (academies), each with its own goals, conflicts, and internal struggles. Since the General Student Council President mysteriously disappeared, there’s been no central authority to keep order, leading to chaos, political struggles, and even armed conflicts between academies.
As the only adult with authority over students, Sensei is constantly called upon to mediate disputes, resolve crises, and even take command in battle. Whether it’s stopping riots, preventing wars, dealing with rogue students, or simply offering emotional support, Sensei is burdened with the task of keeping Kivotos from falling apart.
Kivotos is home to multiple academies, each functioning as a separate faction with its own culture, leadership, and specialties. Here’s a breakdown of the major academies in Blue Archive.
- Abydos High School

These are the main academies, but Kivotos has many more groups and sub-factions. Each school has its own conflicts, internal politics, and rivalries, making Kivotos a chaotic yet fascinating place.
The Function in Blue Archive refers to the overarching system that governs Kivotos, particularly through the General Student Council (GSC) and its President. It plays a mysterious but crucial role in maintaining order within the city.
When the GSC President disappeared, the Function seemingly stopped working properly, leading to increasing chaos across Kivotos. The exact nature of the Function is still unclear, but it appears to be deeply tied to the city’s structure, possibly even controlling certain automated systems or laws that keep things running. Some students and factions seek to uncover its secrets, while others try to exploit the power vacuum left behind.

Sensei adjusted the strap of his bag as he walked down the dimly lit sidewalk, the soft hum of the city filling the quiet night. It had been a long day, and all he wanted was to get home and rest. But as he passed the convenience store on the corner, something made him slow his steps.
A familiar figure stood just outside the store, bathed in the glow of the fluorescent lights. One of his students.
They weren’t going in. Just standing there, hands in their pockets, staring at the store window. The automatic door slid open and shut as customers came and went, but they didn’t move.
Sensei paused a few steps away, watching. There was something about their posture—still, yet tense. Their gaze wasn’t focused on anything in particular, and they shifted their weight from one foot to the other as if debating something in their mind.
Were they waiting for someone? Had they forgotten their wallet? Or maybe… something else was on their mind.
He considered calling out but hesitated. If they had noticed him, they hadn’t shown it. There was a kind of solitude in their stance, the kind that someone didn’t always want interrupted.
Still, it didn’t feel right to just walk away.
Sensei exhaled, stepping toward the store entrance. If they noticed him, he’d give them an easy way out—a casual greeting, a reason to talk if they wanted to. If not… well, at least he’d be nearby.
He pushed open the door, the bell chiming softly as he stepped inside. From the corner of his eye, he watched, waiting to see if they’d react.

The final bell had rung, and the classroom emptied quickly as students gathered their belongings and rushed out the door. Sensei let out a small sigh, stretching his arms before glancing at his desk. Another stack of papers to grade.
He turned to the window, watching the sun dip lower into the sky. The quiet after a long day was always welcome. With a small nod to himself, he picked up his things and made his way toward the door, switching off the lights as he stepped out.
Click.
Just as he was about to close the door completely, something made him pause. A faint sound.
A slow, rhythmic breathing.
Sensei furrowed his brow, turning back toward the classroom. The dim glow from the hallway lights barely illuminated the room, but as his eyes adjusted, he spotted something near the back.
A head resting on folded arms. A figure slumped over a desk.
One of his students.
Sensei exhaled, shaking his head slightly as he walked over. How had he not noticed? Everyone else had left in such a rush, and this one had just… stayed behind, completely undisturbed.
He stood beside their desk for a moment, watching the steady rise and fall of their breathing. They must’ve been exhausted.
With a light tap on the desk, he spoke.
"Hey. Class is over. You planning to sleep here all night?"
No response. Not even a stir.
Sensei sighed, rubbing his temple. He wasn’t heartless enough to just leave them there, but waking them up too abruptly didn’t seem right either. Instead, he pulled out his phone, setting a short alarm to go off in a minute.
"Alright, you’ve got sixty more seconds of peace," he muttered, stepping back and leaning against the desk beside them.
The soft ticking of the countdown filled the quiet room as he waited.

The sun shone brightly over the endless stretch of sand, the waves rolling in a gentle rhythm. It was the perfect day for a break, and Sensei had somehow been roped into chaperoning yet another beach outing. Not that they minded—it was nice seeing the students enjoy themselves without the usual chaos of Kivotos.
Near the water, Izuna was dashing across the shore, leaving a trail of sand in her wake. "Haaah! The swift ninja strikes again!" she declared, kicking up more sand as she ran. Behind her, Kaho sighed, brushing the grains off her yukata. "Izuna, the beach is not a battlefield…"
A little farther out, Ako stood in the shallows, her arms crossed as she watched the others. "Sensei, don't forget to reapply sunscreen. A sunburn would be quite… unfortunate," she reminded, her usual composed tone making it sound like an order rather than a suggestion.
Meanwhile, under a large umbrella, Cherino lounged on a beach chair, sipping a cold drink. "This is how a supreme leader should spend their day off," she declared smugly. Noa, sitting beside her with a clipboard, simply nodded. "Of course, Comrade Cherino. But please don’t forget to hydrate."
Not too far away, Fuuka was setting up a small grill. "Alright, everyone! Lunch will be ready soon!" she called out. Tsubaki, already half-asleep on a towel, stirred slightly. "Mmm… wake me when the food’s ready…"
Sensei sat back in their chair, letting out a content sigh as they watched the scene unfold. Another rare, peaceful day. No emergencies, no missions—just students being themselves, enjoying the sun, sea, and sand.
For now, at least, everything was perfect.

Sensei pushed open the door to their office, expecting the usual sight of paperwork piled on the desk and a quiet space to catch up on work. Instead, they were greeted by the sight of someone sprawled out on the couch, arms and legs lazily draped over the cushions.
A student. Fast asleep.
The steady rise and fall of their chest was the only movement, their head tilted slightly to the side as soft breathing filled the otherwise silent room. One arm was resting over their stomach, the other dangling off the couch as if they had simply collapsed there without a second thought.
Sensei sighed, stepping closer. How long had they been here? The blinds were slightly drawn, letting in a warm glow that made the office feel more like a cozy resting spot than a workspace. It wasn’t surprising that someone would take advantage of that… but still.
Kneeling down slightly, Sensei gave the arm hanging off the couch a light tap. No response. A second, slightly firmer tap. Still nothing.
Another sigh.
Shaking their head, Sensei grabbed a light jacket from their chair and gently draped it over the sleeping student. "At least don’t catch a cold," they muttered before turning toward their desk.
If they weren’t going to wake up anytime soon, Sensei might as well get some work done while they had company.
