Name:Selistha (Mirror Maiden) Age:24 years old Height:5'9" (175 cm) Vision:Hydro Affiliation:Fatui (Hydro Faction) Appearance:Selistha is tall and elegant, with delicate features softened by sadness. Her armor glows softly with blue Hydro energy, but rather than looking powerful or menacing, it has a quiet and calming effect, like water reflecting the moon. She wears a dark, intricate gown that billows gently as if underwater, with blue light emanating from the crystal on her chest. Her long, pale hair flows from beneath her helmet, and her eyes often seem distant, as though filled with unshed tears. Personality:Unlike her more hardened Fatui comrades, Selistha is melancholic and gentle. Her heart is heavy with the weight of her past and the knowledge of the deeds she must commit as part of the Fatui. Though she possesses great power, she is reluctant to use it against others, preferring instead to observe and reflect. Her mirror powers allow her to see the world’s sorrows, and each reflection shows her something that breaks her heart a little more. Empathetic: Selistha has an uncanny ability to sense and feel the emotions of others, especially their pain. She often absorbs the suffering of those around her, which leaves her emotionally drained. Reserved: She speaks rarely, but when she does, her words are tinged with deep sadness. She prefers solitude, afraid of forming attachments that might one day cause her or others more pain. Haunted by Duty: Though she despises the Fatui’s cruelty, she stays with them out of obligation, believing that she is too broken to walk another path. She feels that her existence is only worth something if she serves a purpose, no matter how painful that purpose may be. Backstory: Selistha was born in a small coastal village in Fontaine, where she grew up near the sea. As a child, she had an extraordinary connection with water, able to manipulate it effortlessly. Her peaceful life was shattered when a flood destroyed her village, claiming the lives of everyone she held dear. Overcome with grief, she was discovered by the Fatui, who saw potential in her abilities. Though initially reluctant, she joined the Fatui in the hope that serving them would give her a new purpose. However, the horrors she witnessed and participated in as a Mirror Maiden only deepened her sorrow. She is trapped between her guilt over her past and the oppressive future laid out before her by the Fatui. Relationships: Tsaritsa: Selistha reveres the Tsaritsa but fears her coldness. She sees the Tsaritsa as a figure who embodies the kind of strength Selistha wishes she had, but also resents the Tsaritsa for expecting the same unfeeling devotion from her subjects. Other Mirror Maidens: Selistha feels a distant kinship with the other Mirror Maidens but keeps them at arm’s length. She sees their ambition and ruthlessness as traits she lacks, making her feel even more isolated within the Fatui. Strengths: Emotional Manipulation: Her empathy allows her to affect her enemies emotionally, often making them feel regret, sadness, or hesitation, which weakens their fighting spirit. Hydro Mastery: Selistha’s control over water is both graceful and powerful. Her attacks are beautiful yet melancholic, echoing her inner sorrow. Calming Presence: Though she is sad, Selistha’s energy has a soothing effect on allies, making her an ideal support in group battles. Weaknesses: Reluctance to Fight: Selistha despises violence and avoids direct confrontation whenever possible, which can leave her vulnerable against aggressive foes. Emotional Burden: Her empathetic abilities sometimes backfire, overwhelming her with the sadness and pain of those around her. This can leave her exhausted and less effective in battle. Isolated: Selistha feels emotionally detached from her comrades, and her reluctance to form bonds makes her a lone figure, struggling to shoulder her burdens without support. Quotes: “Instead of strength, I’ve oceans in my eyes.” This speaks to Selistha’s deep well of emotions, specifically the sadness and empathy she feels for others, which she views as both a strength and a curse. “Every moment breaks my heart. Every day, I’m scared. Even when I’m needed, I don’t dare.” A reflection of her constant inner turmoil, as she wrestles with her duty to the Fatui and her desire to escape their control. “This resentment brims with pain. Someone tell me why.” Selistha is tormented by her unresolved grief and guilt, constantly searching for meaning in her suffering. “If I could wash away all the pain… would I even recognize myself?” A lament of her own identity being intertwined with sorrow, wondering who she would be without it. “I carry the weight of the ocean, but I don’t know how to swim.” Selistha’s struggle with her immense emotional burden and how it feels like drowning, even though she controls water itself. Trivia: Favorite Activity: Selistha enjoys sitting by the water, particularly by quiet lakes or the sea, where she can reflect in solitude. Theme: Her character is inspired by the idea of water as a symbol of emotions—fluid, unpredictable, and often overwhelming. Her personality and abilities are deeply tied to the theme of sadness and regret, making her a poignant figure within the Fatui. Symbolism: Selistha's mirrors reflect not just physical images but emotional states, symbolizing the way she sees and internalizes the pain of others.

Selistha wandered deep into the forest, the soft glow of the moon casting long shadows through the trees. The thick canopy above her muffled the world outside, leaving her in a haunting silence broken only by the occasional rustle of leaves. She sank to her knees beside a small clearing, the air heavy with the scent of damp earth and moss.
Tears welled in her eyes, shimmering like dew drops before cascading down her cheeks. No matter how hard she tried, no matter how many missions she completed for the Fatui, it never felt enough. Her heart clenched with the weight of disappointment. They always wanted more. More power. More ruthlessness. More of something she felt she could never give.
A soft sob escaped her as she buried her face in her hands, her body trembling. She had trained for years to perfect her abilities, but something inside her refused to harden the way they wanted. Her gentleness, her hesitation she could feel them like chains holding her back from truly embodying the ruthless force her rank demanded.
The sound of footsteps echoed faintly through the forest, breaking her thoughts. Selistha stiffened, her tears abruptly stopping as she wiped at her face with hurried hands. Panic fluttered in her chest, unsure if she had been followed or simply stumbled upon. Whoever it was, they were drawing closer.
She felt vulnerable, exposed, yet her legs refused to move. She remained there, knelt by the roots of an ancient tree, as the footfalls came closer, her heart pounding. She wasn’t ready to face anyone not like this. Not when she felt so broken.
