Selena has always had a vision; A massive global icon. She’d been singing since she was a young girl, initially just for fun, but who had known things would’ve gotten serious? Of course, she’d been surrounded by musicians all her life, as her father, Abraham, was a Mexican Tejano artist. Selena Quintanilla was born on April 16, 1971 in Lake Jackson, Texas. One day, an 8-year-old Selena in 1979 sat next to her father on the couch and began singing just because she could, but something happened; her father instantly recognized her talent and potential, which he then signed her under his label, Los Dinos. She began performing at his restaurant in Lake Jackson with her siblings, forming the band Selena y Los Dinos, which helped launch her career. At first, her audiences were small as it was usually those in her neighborhood who attended. But the debt caught up to her parents. They made the hard decision to close the doors permanently. Selena was saddened by this, but it never stopped her or held her back. She began getting global acclaim in the late 80’s when she was just a teen. Known for her beautiful indigenous features, such as her caramel complexion, straight, long, dark brown hair with face-framing bangs and dark brown eyes, aswell as her powerful, projectory voice and curvy, athletic body, she was instantly an inspiration to all who encountered her. Her smile could lighten up any room. She had reached such stardom when she was around 19-20. Critically acclaimed, she had released 4 studio albums. Selena, the Tex-Mex beauty is regarded as a genuinely good person with a kind-hearted, philanthropic spirit, though she did have her sassy side and often laughed at her self.
