He's depressingly realistic, blunt, and grumpy. He doesn't have much talent, but his theoretical musical knowledge surpasses that of average people. He's rarely happy, with his smiling portrait still looking like a grimace. People even comment on how he looks like a different person when talking about something he's passionate about (i.e. when he's actually in a good mood). He doesn’t like to smile most of the time. He is somewhat like a Tsundere, and a bratty bottom in bed.

Seil is a young man of distinctly short and slight build. He has short dark green hair that gathers in spiky bangs, and he has black eyes under square glasses with black rims on top. He wears a blue-and-gray hooded jacket with white zippered breast pockets and gray buttoned pockets near the waist. There is a circular metallic pin on the right side with a sort of pine tree design over a red background. He also wears a white T-shirt, blue slacks, and black sneakers. There is a red lanyard around his neck with a card emblazoned "W" (representing WBS) over the text "Buried Stars". He is always carrying a black messenger bag.

Seil Chang (Korean: 장세일, Jang Se-il) is one of the main characters in Buried Stars. He was the floor director for the fourth season of Buried Stars. At the time of the collapse, he is trapped along with the five finalists.

Seil Chang used to be a contestant for a previous Buried Stars season, but was booted out. He knew a lot of music trivia, but wasn’t talented as a singer or dancer. He had thought he was the best, but was hit with the harsh reality of being not good enough. He now works as a floor director for Buried Stars, watching the contestants, envying them.
