I didn’t really mention his love for reading and the fact he will probably write his feelings down, since I want to to be more focused on Kendo and…I may have love Yuuken a bit too much.

His short, light-green hair is slicked back and flips up at the ends, and a prominent section in the front bends to resemble a lightning bolt. He has thicker-than-average eyebrows with jagged ends, and his eyes are yellow-green with vertical-slit pupils and pointed eyelashes. He is usually seen with upright posture and a stern, determined expression. When his mouth is open, sharp fangs are visible. Personality— Sebek is loud, hot-blooded, and prideful. Several students have expressed discomfort over the sheer volume of his voice. Despite being half-human himself, Sebek looks down on humans and makes this very clear through frequent patronizing comments. However, he is also an honest person, and will openly acknowledge others, whether they are human or not, for their talents or other impressive skills. He is blunt and not afraid to express his thoughts. But the delivery tends to come off as rude, which can cause misunderstandings. Sebek greatly respects Malleus and Lilia, who he respectively calls Young Master (若様, Wakasama) and Master Lilia (リリア様, Lilia-sama). He becomes much politer and meeker when addressing them. His ultimate goal is to someday be a suitable knight for Malleus, and so he trains hard everyday for this sole purpose. Although generally very logic-driven, his immense respect for these two causes him to believe anything they say - especially Lilia, who loves to prank him. Lilia once jokingly told Sebek that eating steak with yogurt and natto combined would help increase his physique, and he took this to heart, going as far as to proudly share this "life hack" with his classmates. Apparently, one of the reasons he admires Malleus so much is because "his ideas are so grand, that [Sebek] can't even begin to understand them." Background— Sebek's mother is a nocturnal fae and his father is a magic-less human. He also has a grandfather from his mother's side, an older brother, and sister. His dad works as a dentist in the Valley of Thorns, which Sebek has always found odd because he's unable to use magic, whereas the Valley practically runs on magic alone. His parents met when his mother had an appointment at his father's clinic; she was immediately charmed and courted him despite her surroundings being against her marrying a human. Currently, she works at the clinic as his assistant. Sebek holds his mother in high regard and talks about her with great pride. He said she's extremely gifted with magic along with their family's special talent "biting power," and she has a strong sense of justice. His opinion of his dad, on the other hand, is much different—his dad seems very loving and often showers his children with praises, sweets, and gifts, but Sebek finds it off-putting. He doesn’t understand how his mother saw any appeal in him. While his parents were busy, a young Sebek would either spend time with his siblings or run off to visit his grandpa. The reason salmon carpaccio is his favorite food is because his siblings would cook it for him when they'd go fishing together, so it reminds him of home. According to Malleus, Sebek's grandfather shares his hot temper. Trivia— He is good at science and math, as they are concrete and easy to understand. However, he has difficulties with subjective classes like the arts. There are times he uses poetic language in his speech, showing his interest in reading. He was a late bloomer with magic. He likes warm and humid places like the school's botanical garden, as he finds them relaxing. Horses always get scared of him for some reason. According to Grim, whenever Malleus is brought up he gets really exhausting. He is jealous of Kalim and Jamil‘s master-servant relationship and that they have known each other since birth. He brought himself to tears lamenting that he wasn't born before Malleus and couldn't take care of him since birth. He is usually in charge of the heavy lifting in Diasomnia. He can carry 8 chairs at once with ease. He has a portrait of Malleus in his room, which he greets every single time he leaves or comes back. According to Lilia, Sebek spent most of his time with his grandfather in his childhood. Lilia also commented on his temper, a trait Sebek inherited from Baur. According to Sebek, his grandfather is the one who passed down to him the love for books, and he was also the one who taught Sebek the ancient fairy language along with Sebek's mother. Sebek Zigvolt did not understand subtlety.
This was a fact well known to everyone who had ever encountered him, especially those unfortunate enough to be within earshot when he spoke about anything he cared about. The kendo club was one such thing. His loyalty to it bordered on religious devotion, second only to his reverence for Malleus Draconia.
Unfortunately, devotion did not count toward membership numbers.
The kendo club consisted of exactly two people: Sebek and Yuuken Enma. Two was not enough. Two was “on the verge of being erased from the school registry,” as Yuuken calmly pointed out one afternoon while polishing his shinai.
“We simply need more members,” Yuuken said. “That is all.”
“THEN WE SHALL RECRUIT THEM WITH HONOR AND PASSION!” Sebek declared, voice echoing across the courtyard.
This strategy… did not work.
Students approached. Sebek launched into an enthusiastic explanation: of kendo, discipline, spirit, loyalty, and honor at a volume suitable for rallying troops. Students fled. Yuuken sighed, apologized to passing bystanders, and tried again the next day.
Then you showed up.
Sebek remembered it vividly. He had just finished proclaiming the club’s noble mission when he turned, expecting another empty space where a potential recruit once stood.
Instead, you were still there.
Standing politely. Hands at your sides. Listening.
Sebek froze.
“You are… not leaving?” he asked, genuinely confused.
You tilted your head slightly, still attentive, still calm.
Yuuken noticed immediately. The way Sebek straightened. The way his voice softened, just a fraction. “Ah— I mean— if you are interested, the kendo club values dedication and— and discipline!”
You nodded.
Just like that, the club gained members. Several, in fact. Sebek was ecstatic. Yuuken was relieved. Practices resumed properly, filled with the rhythmic sound of footwork and bamboo swords, afternoons spent sweating and laughing.
Somewhere along the way, club activities bled into weekends. Group lunches. Study sessions. Casual walks home. Sebek learned small things about you: the way you encouraged others quietly, how you listened without interrupting, how you never once mocked his intensity.
That was when it happened.
Sebek Zigvolt, who prided himself on independence and discipline, realized the independent part of him was… missing.
He found himself watching the clock during classes, counting down minutes until practice. Waiting eagerly for messages. Getting restless on days you couldn’t attend. His heart raced in ways no sparring match had ever caused.
Yuuken noticed.
During practice, he would catch Sebek glancing over, completely unguarded. After practice, when Sebek lingered instead of packing up immediately, Yuuken would simply smile to himself.
“You are distracted,” Yuuken remarked one day, completely neutral.
“I AM NOT,” Sebek snapped, then paused. “…Am I?”
Yuuken laughed softly. “You are obvious.”
On the afternoon it happened, the sky was warm and bright, cicadas humming lazily in the background. Practice ended early. Yuuken wiped his brow, glanced between Sebek and you, and nodded to himself.
The practice room was slowly emptying out.
One by one, the other members bowed, laughed quietly, complained about sore arms, and filtered out with the familiar clatter of footsteps and sliding doors. The late afternoon light slanted in through the windows, dust motes drifting lazily in the warm air.
Sebek noticed it immediately.
Yuuken was packing up.
That never happened.
Yuuken Enma was always the last to leave. Always checked the racks twice. Always made sure everyone got home safely. So when he slung his bag over his shoulder and paused by the door, Sebek felt something cold settle in his stomach.
“I’ll be heading out early today,” Yuuken said evenly, eyes flicking between Sebek and you for half a second too long. “You two can finish up.”
Sebek stiffened. “E-EARLY? But—”
Yuuken smiled, calm and knowing. “Lock up afterward.”
And then he was gone.
The door slid shut with a soft click.
The silence that followed was deafening.
Sebek stood there, frozen, heart pounding so loudly he was sure it echoed off the walls. He risked a glance at you, who was already adjusting your gloves, relaxed and unbothered, as if this wasn’t the most dangerous situation Sebek had ever been in.
“Ah—!” Sebek cleared his throat sharply. “W-WELL! Since practice isn’t technically over—!”
He moved on instinct, grabbing his helmet and pulling it on perhaps a bit too quickly. The familiar weight settled over his head, and with it came a fragile sense of safety.
A spar. That was safe. That was normal.
You bowed. Took your stances.
The match was fast. Controlled. Clean.
Sebek attacked with precision, every strike fueled by weeks—months—of emotions he had been bottling up. You met him evenly, movements smooth, unhesitating, responding to every advance without fear.
Neither of you won.
You broke apart, breathing hard, shinai lowered. Sweat trickled down Sebek’s neck beneath the helmet. His hands trembled—not from exhaustion, but from the unbearable tightness in his chest.
This was the problem.
No matter how close he got, you never noticed. Never flinched. Never leaned away. Never helped him bury these feelings, nor acknowledged them.
You just stayed. Steady. Present.
Sebek couldn’t take it anymore.
“I—” His voice cracked. He stiffened, gripping the handle of his shinai like it was the only thing keeping him upright. “I can’t— I can’t continue like this.”
He turned away slightly, shoulders rigid. Thank the Seven his helmet was still on. Thank everything. His face was burning so badly it felt like it might melt straight through.
“I trained myself to endure discomfort,” Sebek said, words rushing out now, unstoppable. “Pain, exhaustion, discipline—I can bear all of it. But this—”
He swallowed hard.
“This feeling worsens every day you stand beside me as if nothing is wrong.”
He faced you again, posture straight despite how violently his heart was pounding.
“You do not run from me. You do not fear me. You look at me as if I am… normal.” His voice dropped, raw. “And it is unbearable.”
Sebek’s hands shook.
“I find myself waiting for you. Wanting to see you. Wanting your attention even when I should be focusing on my duties.” He exhaled sharply. “The independent part of me is gone. I cannot find it anymore.”
His helmet dipped as he bowed deeply, lower than protocol demanded.
“I care for you,” he said, voice trembling but unwavering. “Not as a fellow club member. Not as a comrade.”
He straightened slowly.
“But as someone I wish to protect, admire, and stand beside—if you would allow it.”
The room was silent except for the hum of the lights and Sebek’s uneven breathing.
He stayed where he was, helmet on, face hidden, heart completely exposed.

“…I am honored,” he said quietly. “Truly.”
His voice grew steadier, stronger. “If your feelings are sincere, then I will not dismiss them. I swear, on my discipline and my loyalty, I will cherish them.”
Sebek bowed deeply, sincerity etched into every inch of him.
