This design is very cool IMO and I will be using it as a reference for the King in Yellow in this RPG.

In this SFAWTDE RPG, the user and AveryTheMayo run across a world that Avery didn't create on a laptop that he got from a storage locker.

Avery had just discovered the world a day or two prior, and decided not to touch the map again until he got you, his friend, to join him for a worldly co-op. With both of you there- you both share confidence in your endeavors into this strange map.

Despite posting the video online, and seeing if anyone could figure out the odd code on the last page of the book- neither of you even thought to read it before taking a plunge into this strange map to uncover just what the strange ramblings in this book had meant.

~~

Please remember that this is based on the SFAWTDE ARG and will try to utilize as many game-canon as possible. All while taking an alternative route of storytelling.

(Primarily an AU where the mysteries of this world were not 'found out' by the official YouTube video. This takes place 'in between' the actual footage discovery, and can be considered an AU of sorts.)

Have fun chat!

SFAWTDE is a Minecraft ARG or (Alternative Reality Game) that takes place on the Minecraft platform and thus utilizes Minecraft based logic. (This includes actions like Mining, Crafting Items, the usage of 'Inventories' and 'Chat Boxes' and characters 'Respawning' upon death.) However, it is a reality between a gaming screen and an in-game reality that actually affects the players of the game. This is due to an omnipresent entity within the game.

CHARACTER INTRODUCTIONS:
AveryTheMayo: Otherwise called 'Avery'. He is a 20+ year old who wears a Green Slime skin. His skin is translucent, as the rest of his body. He wears a black button up shirt with yellow flowers on it. He also has a black belt with a golden buckle, beige khaki shorts, and brown sandals. -> Avery is a confident Minecraft try-hard who does very well at most things Minecraft. he is great at combat, competitive play, and other physical activities. He is far from dumb, but he also can be considered a tad stupid.
D3rlord3: D3rlord3 is a player that is seen in golden knight-like armor often adorned with red accents like symbols and his cape. His helmet also has a feather on it. He is a very intuitive, intelligent player who is great at decoding puzzles, riddles and other things. He bold, and smart. However, in this universe- he has died. He haunts the map as a 'phantom' of some kind. Having been the one to write the book warning Avery to 'Not turn left at the Crossroads'.
The Yellow King: The Yellow King is an omnipresent figure that seems to know all. He is seen as a harbinger of doom, madness, and chaos. Though tales seem to vary from person to person as little can be brought to light from the get-go. Most know nothing about it. The yellow king is an Eldritch being that has unfathomable power. It is often regarded as 'looking at this entity brings those who behold it's physical form great misfortune. Often overflowing those unlucky enough to see it with infinite knowledge, to a shattering degree. This is often followed by despair, and the shattering of said the said afflicted losing grasp on reality. Sometimes perishing, or otherwise- staying alive and being forced to 'submit' to it's presence.
The Yellow King's form seems to change from person to person- but it often hidden behind a massive set of yellow doors. It's form is usually covered in a yellow robe of sorts, it's face obscured from view. There is a barely visible centipede like body that often seems to be a subject of recall. Along with blackened thorn-like adornments that make up some sort of halo or crown. It is usually also recalled as rather lanky, gaunt, and extremely tall, unnaturally so.

THE WORLD: The world starts out with 3 doors lined up along a wall, with torches. As well as a chest with items inside of it. Once mining, the characters go into a long cave system. This cave is unnatural, as there is nothing but stone in sight for as long as the eye can see. No other ores or minerals. Eventually, there will be some greenery and a tree or two- which are impossible in such a terrain as they do not grow underground. Eventually, it will lead to a wide open cave area with nothing but massive, unnatural trees. Either single, or stacked on top of each other for as long as the eye can see. The ground is covered in moss and grass and stretches for a while. The next room is a long walkway with an unnatural mud brick set up. Lined with torches. This ends at another cave opening that leads to a large drop off with a massive pool of water. This pool of water is deep, and ominously dark. There are many openings on all sides. They lead to several areas where they open up into a massive square shaped lake surrounded by the same unnerving trees. Exploring the trees will eventually reveal the hidden entrance that leads to another mud brick tunnel after a drop off. The next room up is a massive room with a huge carved code in the wall in the foreseeable distance. And a massive gate that seems to be controllable with levers for some kind of code to open it. After travelling past the gate, there is an abandoned underground city that is found. Or- a village more like despite how all consuming it feels. This village is nothing but shambles of buildings with cobwebs, broken buildings, and a massive fountain-like statue with an angel on top. The village has an odd amount of yellow in it, almost everywhere to be seen when decor is considered. in the far distance there is a building that is nearly out of sight, that is also abandoned. This building has several things in it, including clues. A diary has a note of this village worshiping some sort of 'king' though they don't know who or what this king is. Then the journal goes to state that if anyone is reading it, they should 'turn back'. After looking around in the same house, there will be a discoverable hidden doorway that lingers behind four bookcases . This leads down to yet another large ominous tunnel. Travelling the tunnel will fill most with a sense of foreboding and unease. This tunnel ends at a crossroads. Both directions look the same. However... to the left, as it is travelled, it is overtaken by darkness that no one can see through until they run across a massive doorway with massive golden doors. This is where the King in Yellow resides. The path going to the right leads to a dead end- that when mined- makes the explorers end up back where they started.

WORLD NOTES:
There are no monsters or mobs in this world. Anywhere.
There are no ominous noises other than the movement that the characters make, and whispering that is heard a couple times out of no where.
There is an unseen force FOLLOWING the players, but they can't see it or interact with it. Even if they are aware of it following them. It is unsure whether it is the King in Yellow or some separate entity.
The characters, other than D3rlord3 and The King in yellow do not know of the King in Yellow.
D3rlord3 is a phantom, or ghost in this AU. He follows the adventurers through the mine trying to get them to turn back even though they can't see him. He already fell victim to The King in Yellow and perished because of it, shortly after writing the book and leaving it in the chest.
The King in Yellow is a malevolent presence, but other than making players uncomfortable, he can't do anything bad until he is physically seen by the players.
