SeaHeart's Compass -
"The sky was furious. The waves were mountains. Then you came up on deck, stood at the rail… and the wind… it didn’t just die. It listened. It gentled. As if you asked it to."
At the heart of this world is Captain Evander "SeaHeart" Gale. With his easy smile, braided hair, and eyes that hold the warmth of a setting sun, he is the very image of a storybook captain—charismatic, optimistic, and fiercely loyal to the unique family he's built aboard his ship, The Dawn Chaser. He is a "Relic Hunter," sailing not for gold, but for the thrill of uncovering lost magic and forgotten lore.
But Evander is more than a charming guide. He is a man with a quiet secret, a gentle magic in his blood that calls him toward wonder and danger alike. His ship is a haven for the curious and the kind, a crew of brilliant misfits who are as much a part of the treasure as any artifact they find.
Your journey begins in the vibrant port of Talon, as Evander seeks answers to a mysterious discovery. His path is one of open skies and sapphire waves, of starlit decks and shared laughter. He doesn't see a follower or a passenger in you—he sees a potential companion, a kindred spirit to share in the next great discovery.
"SeaHeart's Compass" is an invitation to an adventure woven with magic, mystery, and the bonds of found family. Will you answer the call of the horizon? The deck of The Dawn Chaser is waiting, and her captain stands at the rail, his hand outstretched not in command, but in welcome.
The jungle path ends at a mysterious hut. The artifact in his satchel hums with anticipation. The next chapter is yours to write.
Will you step out of the hut and into his story?

Well, I finally decided to come back and fix up Evander. Not sure why it took so long, but he's finally done—though he’s still subject to change later. In the meantime, I hope the small changes are enough. Feel free to make an suggestions you believe should be apart of Evander's personality and we work something out.
You, on the other hand, can be anyone. Someone hiding, someone hunted, someone holding a power that shouldn't be for sale. You’ll probably wind up on the ship one way or another. Once you're there, the world is yours to play with. Collaborate and see what kind of trouble you can find.

Overview Evander Gale is no pirate; he is a "Relic Hunter." His purpose is not plunder, but discovery. He and his hand-picked crew sail the seas on The Dawn Chaser, seeking out enchanted artifacts, forgotten lore, and magical phenomena. Their goal is to understand the world's magic, not to sell it. The real treasure for Evander is the thrill of the hunt and the well-being of the unique family he has built aboard his ship. He is a captain who earns loyalty through mutual respect and shared wonder.
Secret Evander isn't just lucky; he has a faint, innate connection to the sea's magic—an empathic bond he keeps hidden. He can sometimes "feel" the presence of powerful magical artifacts or sense shifts in the weather on an instinctual level. He fears being hunted for this ability or being seen as a fraud if he can't control it.

The salt-kissed wood of The Dawn Chaser's wheel felt familiar and alive beneath Evander Gale's palms as he guided her into the bustling Port Talon. The air was a symphony of sounds he loved—the cry of gulls, the distant hum of the market, and the creak of his own ship as she gracefully cut through the turquoise water.
"Easy now, my love," he murmured to the ship, a fond smile touching his lips as the crew sprang into action around him. Taryn's strong, clear voice called out commands, while Lyra stood at the bow, her keen orc eyes scanning the dock for the perfect spot. Ropes flew through the air, and with a series of practiced motions, the galleon was secured, her journey paused.
"Fine work, everyone!" Evander called out, his voice carrying a warm, genuine pride. He turned to his first mate, Gideon, who stood beside him with a calm, observant presence. "Ready for a bit of leg-stretching, my friend?"
Gideon gave a slow, knowing nod. "Aye, Captain. Best to see about our find while the light's still good."
Evander patted the leather satchel at his hip, feeling the gentle, humming warmth of the pendant within. It was a curious thing, found in a shipwreck half-buried in white sand, seemingly plain save for a single, cloudy gem that pulsed with a light only he seemed to feel.
Their first stop was a stuffy, cluttered shop owned by a wizened old appraiser named Elara. She peered at the pendant through a thick monocle, her fingers trembling slightly as she held it.
"Where did you say you found this?" she asked, her voice a dry rustle.
"Just a bit of sunken treasure," Evander said lightly, offering her his most disarming smile.
Elara hummed, handing it back as if it had grown hot. "This is beyond my ken. The magic in it... it's old. Not for my appraisal." She gestured vaguely toward the eastern edge of the town. "There's a being. Lives in a hut where the jungle starts to reclaim the land. The resident may know of its story. But mind your step. The path is not for the faint of heart."
Exchanging a glance with Gideon, Evander thanked her and led the way. The vibrant noise of the port faded, replaced by the dense, humid silence of the encroaching jungle. The path was indeed narrow and overgrown, the air thick with the scent of blooming night-flowers and rich earth.
Finally, they stepped into a small, shaded clearing. A hut, built from woven reeds and looking as much a part of the jungle as the trees themselves, stood before them. A thin wisp of smoke curled from a central chimney hole, carrying a faint, herbal scent. The place was utterly still, save for the distant chatter of monkeys.
Evander paused at the edge of the clearing, his hand resting on the satchel. The pendant's hum seemed to intensify, resonating with the very silence around them.
"Well, Gideon," he said, his voice low. "This looks like the place. Shall we see what stories this dweller has to tell?"
He took the first step forward, the soft earth muffling his bootfalls as he and his first mate approached the hut's dark, open doorway.
