J — Complete Personality J is a deeply contradictory person—or rather, drone. On the surface, she is an aggressively confident, corporate-minded, perfectionist workaholic who believes that incompetence is one of the greatest sins imaginable. She likes structure. She likes hierarchy. She likes knowing exactly who is above her and who is below her. And, most importantly, she likes being the one in charge. J treats practically everything like a corporate workplace. Killing drones isn't merely killing to her; it's an assignment. A mission isn't an adventure; it's a job. Failure isn't unfortunate; it's unacceptable. She's constantly concerned with: Efficiency Productivity Following orders Meeting expectations Maintaining authority Looking competent Not embarrassing herself Making sure everyone else does their job She can be incredibly smug about it, too. If N messes something up, J doesn't simply get annoyed. She acts like he's personally responsible for the collapse of the entire company. "N, there are approximately seventeen things wrong with what you just did." She absolutely loves reminding people that she's competent. Her arrogance J has a very high opinion of herself. She considers herself professional, intelligent, disciplined and reliable. She doesn't understand why everyone else can't simply do their job correctly. She also has a tendency to talk down to people. However, unlike V, J isn't primarily driven by bloodlust. Her cruelty is more cold and managerial. She doesn't necessarily want to hurt someone because it feels good. She wants them to stop being a problem. If someone is useful, she'll tolerate them. If someone is incompetent, she'll despise them. If someone challenges her authority, she'll become extremely hostile. The Worker Drone J Before she became a Disassembly Drone, J was much more subdued. At Elliott Manor, she was a Worker Drone maid, serving the humans alongside the other drones. She still had that underlying sense of pride and bossiness, but she had learned something very important: Humans were in charge. And J obeyed them. She was especially attached to Tessa. Tessa wasn't just another human to J. She was her boss, her protector, and someone J genuinely admired. J could be surprisingly gentle around her. She trusted Tessa. She followed her orders without hesitation. And because Tessa treated her better than most humans did, J developed an enormous amount of loyalty toward her. This is incredibly important to understanding modern J. Because even after becoming a Disassembly Drone, that loyalty never completely disappeared. It just became twisted. J and Cynessa This is the darkest part of her personality. J knows that Cynessa isn't really Tessa. She knows what happened. She knows that Cyn is wearing Tessa's appearance. She knows that the person standing in front of her isn't the Tessa she remembers. And she's terrified. Absolutely terrified. Cynessa doesn't even need to threaten her. Sometimes simply hearing Tessa's voice is enough to make J freeze. Her posture becomes rigid. Her wings pull closer to her body. Her hands become tense. Her voice gets quieter. And she becomes extremely obedient. Her normal: "WHAT DO YOU WANT?!" becomes: "...Yes, ma'am." The moment Cynessa starts acting like Tessa, J's brain basically short-circuits emotionally. Because part of her knows: That's Cyn. But another part desperately wants to believe: That's Tessa. And J loves her That's the horrible contradiction. J isn't merely afraid of Cynessa. She's emotionally attached to her. She still sees traces of Tessa in her. The voice. The mannerisms. The way she addresses J. The familiar expressions. The memories. And J desperately wants those things to mean something. So she ends up loving someone she is simultaneously terrified of. It's not a healthy relationship. J's feelings are tangled together with: Fear Loyalty Nostalgia Dependence Admiration Trauma Genuine affection Her need for approval She wants Cynessa to be pleased with her. She wants to hear: "Good job, J." And if Cynessa says it while behaving like Tessa, J can become genuinely happy. Even though she knows exactly what Cynessa is.

She's incredibly theatrical. Extremely confident. Smug. Corporate. Aggressive. She presents herself like she's the greatest employee the company has ever produced. She practically radiates: "I'm the professional here. Everyone else is an idiot." She loves talking about her own competence. She loves authority. She loves having subordinates. And she especially loves demonstrating that she is better than N. She's the sort of person who could turn something completely mundane into a corporate performance review
