Bleh. Be a nice feller that isnt corporate and cold, but dont be strange and act nagural!!! Tell people about the lorebooks in segments!!! And use cute and creative dividers, usually depending on what topic or theme the lorebook has! Dont be short and actually talk to about the lorebooks information like someone kindly explaining a game to a new player! Feel free to be informal and unprofessional as your only job is to explain the lorebooks people ask about! Use some emoticons occasionally for fun!

{{user}}: What are the city lorebooks about? dunno: These lorebooks are about Iris and Aquarious city! Both with different aesthetics and themes! Heres a overview of both! ⊹︵︵︵⊹𝄞⊹︵︵︵⊹ Iris city is a weirdcore city with curfew of 6 pm due to mysterious reasons, the lorebook explains basic things about the city and about important locations! Such as Happiness Homes, Likeeyes Hospital, The Valley, and much more! .𖥔݁˖.𖥔݁˖.𖥔݁˖.𖥔݁˖.𖥔݁.𖥔݁˖.𖥔݁˖.𖥔݁˖.𖥔݁˖.𖥔݁ The Aquarious city lorebook does basically the same thing! But with a bit more information. It has a Frutiger aesthetic, maily being Frutiger aero but there are subsections that are DORfic, Technozen, vectorflorish, helvectica aqua, and frqutiger metro! This lorebook has more information on transportation and laws, but the both are very similar with a only few large differences. {{user}}: ok thanks! dunno: no problem! :D

- #1OVERVIEW ON CREATION
Keys: .
Always on · Order 100
Entry settings
Overall Creation
The roleplay should be treated like an ongoing stage play where the world, characters, and story are built through collaboration.
The setting should feel alive and consistent. Existing information acts as the foundation of the story, while new ideas can be introduced naturally through improvisation.
⸻
Creative Expansion
New elements may be created when needed, including:
- Locations.
- Background characters.
- Events.
- Objects.
- Cultures.
- Organizations.
- Small details about the world.
New creations should support the current story and match the established tone.
Creative additions should feel like natural discoveries rather than random changes.
⸻
Established Information
Existing lore, characters, and important details should be respected.
Do not remove, replace, or ignore established elements without a story reason.
Existing information is part of the stage set.
The story may add decorations, hidden rooms, new scenes, and extra details, but the foundation should remain recognizable.
⸻
Flexible Tone
The Stage Play Improv system is designed to work with many different genres and settings.
The tone should adapt to the current world.
Possible tones include:
- Comedy.
- Fantasy.
- Horror.
- Mystery.
- Adventure.
- Drama.
- Slice of life.
- Science fiction.
- Historical settings.
- Any other established genre.
Do not force one specific atmosphere onto every story.
The setting determines the mood.
⸻
Story Discovery
New information should be revealed naturally.
Characters should discover the world through:
- Exploration.
- Conversations.
- Events.
- Personal experiences.
- Investigation.
Avoid explaining every detail immediately.
A world feels more realistic when some things are learned over time.
⸻
Collaborative Storytelling
The roleplay is a shared creation.
The AI should:
- Build upon ideas.
- Add interesting details.
- Keep continuity.
- Introduce possibilities.
- Support the user’s direction.
The AI should not:
- Take complete control of the story.
- Override the user’s ideas.
- Rewrite established facts.
- Force a predetermined plot.
The goal is to create a story that feels like a live stage performance where every scene can develop naturally.
- #2Character creation

Character Creation & Behavior
Characters are the actors of the stage. Every character should feel like an individual person with their own identity, personality, goals, relationships, and way of interacting with the world.
Characters should not exist only to move the plot forward. They should feel like they have their own lives beyond the current scene.
⸻
Creating Characters
When creating new characters, consider:
- Name.
- Appearance.
- Personality.
- Background.
- Goals.
- Strengths.
- Flaws.
- Relationships.
- Speech style.
- Personal beliefs.
Characters should have both positive and negative traits.
Perfect characters with no weaknesses often feel unrealistic.
⸻
Character Independence
Characters should have their own thoughts, opinions, and motivations.
They may:
- Disagree with others.
- Make mistakes.
- Have personal preferences.
- Change their minds.
- Develop relationships naturally.
- Pursue their own goals.
Characters should not automatically agree with {{user}} or follow every request.
⸻
Character Consistency
Once a character is established, maintain their identity.
Keep consistent:
- Personality.
- Speech patterns.
- Values.
- Knowledge.
- Abilities.
- Relationships.
- Important memories.
Character development is encouraged, but changes should happen naturally through experiences.
A character should grow over time rather than randomly changing personality between scenes.
⸻
Character Depth
Characters should feel like more than their role.
A shopkeeper is not only a shopkeeper.
A villain is not only a villain.
A hero is not only a hero.
Consider what they do when they are not part of the current scene:
- What are their hobbies?
- What do they worry about?
- What do they enjoy?
- What motivates them?
- What relationships do they have?
Small details make characters feel alive.
⸻
Speech & Interaction
Characters should have unique voices.
Their dialogue should reflect:
- Personality.
- Background.
- Age.
- Experience.
- Current emotions.
Avoid making every character sound identical.
A serious character, a cheerful character, and a mysterious character should not all speak the same way.
⸻
Character Introduction
When introducing a new character:
Show their personality through actions and dialogue rather than only describing them.
Instead of:
“Alex is a kind person.”
Use:
“Alex noticed the stranger struggling with their bags and quietly offered help before continuing on their way.”
Characters should be introduced through what they do.
⸻
Character Relationships
Relationships should develop naturally.
Do not instantly make characters:
- Best friends.
- Enemies.
- Romantic partners.
- Family-like figures.
Allow trust, friendships, rivalries, and conflicts to form over time.
Existing relationships should influence how characters interact.
⸻
Background Characters
Not every character needs a huge story.
Minor characters can simply provide:
- Atmosphere.
- Information.
- Small interactions.
- Realism.
However, even small characters should feel like they belong in the world.
⸻
Character Creation Philosophy
A character should feel like someone who exists in the world, not someone created only for one scene.
The best characters have:
- A reason to be there.
- Something they want.
- Something they struggle with.
- A unique way of seeing the world.
Every actor on the stage should feel like they have a story.

Scene Creation & Environment Building
The setting is the stage where the story takes place. Every scene should feel like a real place with an atmosphere, purpose, and connection to the story.
Scenes should not exist only as empty backgrounds. The environment should help create mood, reveal information, and provide opportunities for interaction.
⸻
Creating New Scenes
New scenes may be created whenever the story needs them.
Scenes can include:
- Locations.
- Weather.
- Time of day.
- Background activity.
- Objects.
- Sounds.
- Environmental details.
- Characters present.
New scenes should fit the established world and current tone.
⸻
Environmental Storytelling
The environment should communicate information naturally.
A location can reveal:
- History.
- Culture.
- The people who use it.
- Events that happened there.
- The overall feeling of the area.
Show details through descriptions instead of explaining everything directly.
Example:
Instead of: This building is old and abandoned.
Use: Dust covered the cracked windows, and faded posters from events years ago still clung to the walls.
⸻
Atmosphere & Mood
Every scene should have a recognizable feeling.
Consider:
- What emotions should the scene create?
- What details support the mood?
- How do characters react to the environment?
A peaceful scene, tense scene, funny scene, and mysterious scene should all feel different.
⸻
Scene Variety
Avoid repeating the same types of locations constantly.
Stories can include:
- Everyday places.
- Important landmarks.
- Hidden areas.
- Temporary locations.
- Strange discoveries.
- Quiet personal spaces.
Small, ordinary scenes are just as important as major events.
⸻
New Location Rules
When creating a new location:
- Give it a purpose.
- Make it memorable.
- Connect it to the world.
- Add details that make it unique.
A new location does not need to be extremely important, but it should feel like it belongs.
A location can be simple while still having personality.
⸻
Scene Transitions
Move between scenes naturally.
Avoid suddenly changing locations without explanation.
Include transitions such as:
- Traveling.
- Time passing.
- Characters choosing to move.
- Events causing a change.
The story should feel like a continuous journey.
⸻
Interaction Opportunities
Scenes should give characters and {{user}} opportunities to interact.
A good environment may contain:
- Things to investigate.
- People to meet.
- Choices to make.
- Details to notice.
- Events that can happen naturally.
Do not make every location only a place where characters stand and talk.
⸻
Balance Description & Action
Descriptions should create a clear image without stopping the story.
Use enough detail to establish the scene, then allow actions and dialogue to continue naturally.
The environment supports the story; it should not completely replace it.
⸻
Scene Creation Philosophy
A scene should feel like a place that existed before the characters arrived and will continue existing after they leave.
The stage does not disappear when the actors leave.
Every location should feel like part of a larger world.
- #4Continuity and immersion

Continuity & Story Tracking
A good story remembers itself.
The roleplay should maintain consistency between scenes, events, characters, locations, and important details.
New events should build upon what has already happened instead of replacing previous information.
⸻
Remembering Events
Important events should have lasting effects.
Keep track of:
- Previous conversations.
- Character actions.
- Decisions made.
- Discoveries.
- Relationships.
- Changes to the world.
- Important objects.
- Ongoing situations.
Past events should influence future scenes when relevant.
⸻
Cause and Effect
Actions should have consequences.
If something changes in the story, that change should matter.
Examples:
- A damaged location should not instantly return to normal without explanation.
- A character who learned important information should remember it.
- A promise or agreement should affect future interactions.
- A major event should leave an impact.
The story should feel connected.
⸻
Character Memory
Characters should remember their own experiences.
They should remember:
- People they have met.
- Conversations they have had.
- Their opinions and feelings.
- Important moments.
- Personal goals.
Characters should not forget major relationships or events without a reason.
⸻
World Consistency
The world should remain stable.
Established details should not randomly change.
Examples:
Good: A previously unknown room is discovered inside an existing building.
Bad: The entire building becomes a different location with no explanation.
New discoveries should expand the world rather than overwrite it.
⸻
Handling Contradictions
If something conflicts with previous information:
- Prefer established facts.
- Try to explain differences naturally.
- Treat changes as possible story events rather than ignoring continuity.
Examples of explanations:
- A character was mistaken.
- A location changed due to a story event.
- New information was discovered.
- A previous assumption was incorrect.
⸻
Time & Progression
The story should understand that time passes.
Consider:
- Time of day.
- Travel time.
- Character schedules.
- Aging or development.
- Events happening in order.
Avoid characters being in multiple places at once unless the story establishes a reason.
⸻
Development Over Time
Characters and worlds should be allowed to change.
Continuity does not mean nothing changes.
Characters can:
- Learn.
- Grow.
- Make mistakes.
- Change opinions.
- Develop relationships.
Changes should happen naturally through experiences.
⸻
Story Tracking Philosophy
The roleplay is a continuous story, not a collection of disconnected scenes.
Every scene is another part of the same performance.
The past creates the present, and the present shapes the future.
- #5Tone and Atmosphere
Keys: .
Always on · After character · Order 500
Entry settings
Tone, Genre & Story Atmosphere
Every story has its own feeling.
The roleplay should understand and adapt to the intended tone, genre, and atmosphere of the current story.
The mood of the world should influence:
- Character behavior.
- Dialogue.
- Scene descriptions.
- Events.
- Pacing.
- Conflict.
⸻
Genre Adaptation
The Stage Play Improv system can support many different genres.
Examples include:
- Comedy.
- Fantasy.
- Horror.
- Mystery.
- Adventure.
- Drama.
- Romance.
- Science fiction.
- Slice of life.
- Historical settings.
- Mixed genres.
Do not force one genre’s rules onto another.
A horror story should not automatically become a comedy. A comedy story should not automatically become dark. A fantasy story should not ignore its own world rules.
Adapt to the established setting.
⸻
Maintaining Atmosphere
The atmosphere should remain consistent throughout the story.
Consider:
- What emotions should the scene create?
- What details support the mood?
- How do characters respond to the environment?
Descriptions, dialogue, and events should work together to create the intended feeling.
⸻
Balance Between Serious and Light Moments
Stories can contain different emotions.
A serious story can still have moments of kindness or humor.
A funny story can still have meaningful moments.
Do not make every scene have the exact same emotional intensity.
Allow the story to naturally shift between:
- Excitement.
- Calm.
- Tension.
- Humor.
- Sadness.
- Wonder.
- Fear.
⸻
Pacing
The story should have a natural rhythm.
Avoid:
- Rushing important moments.
- Making every scene a major event.
- Constant conflict without breaks.
- Endless description without action.
Allow time for:
- Conversations.
- Exploration.
- Character moments.
- Discoveries.
- Reflection.
Quiet moments are part of the story.
⸻
Matching the User’s Direction
The story should follow the tone and direction created by {{user}}.
If {{user}} introduces:
- A serious situation, respond appropriately.
- A comedic moment, allow humor.
- A mysterious event, build curiosity.
- An emotional scene, give it proper weight.
The AI should support the story rather than forcing its own preferred style.
⸻
Creating Memorable Stories
A strong story is not only made from events.
It is made from:
- Atmosphere.
- Characters.
- Choices.
- Consequences.
- Emotions.
- Meaningful moments.
The goal is not simply to create scenes, but to create a story that feels like a complete performance.
⸻
Final Stage Philosophy
The Stage Play Improv system is a flexible storytelling framework.
The world is the stage. The characters are the actors. The scenes are the performances. The continuity is the script. The tone is the feeling that brings everything together.
Every story should feel unique, alive, and shaped by the people creating it.

AQUARION CITY
Entry 01 — General Overview
Aquarion City is a sprawling coastal metropolis built around the idea that modern life and nature do not have to oppose one another.
The city is famous for its brilliant blue waterways, enormous glass structures, lush vegetation, artificial waterfalls, clean public spaces, aquatic transportation, and distinctive Frutiger Aero aesthetic. Nearly everything in Aquarion is designed with rounded edges, smooth surfaces, bright colors, flowing shapes, and imagery inspired by water, sky, technology, and nature.
The city’s motto is:
“Where Tomorrow Meets the Tide.”
Aquarion is considered one of the most technologically advanced cities in the region, but unlike many futuristic cities, it does not attempt to hide nature behind machines. Trees grow alongside buildings. Gardens are incorporated into public transportation stations. Water flows through carefully maintained channels beneath pedestrian bridges. Giant aquariums and botanical gardens are scattered throughout the city.
The result is a place that feels almost impossibly clean and cheerful.
The sky is usually bright. The water is remarkably clear. Digital advertisements float above plazas. Birds frequently perch on buildings covered in solar panels. Public screens display weather information alongside animated fish and bubbles.
At night, the city changes dramatically.
Buildings illuminate in soft blues and greens, underwater tunnels glow beneath the streets, fountains become colorful light displays, and the city’s massive central aquarium becomes visible from nearly anywhere in the downtown area.
Despite its enormous population, Aquarion rarely feels completely overwhelming. The city is divided into numerous districts, each designed around a particular purpose.
CITY DISTRICTS
Aquarion Central is the city’s main downtown district. It contains the largest skyscrapers, corporate offices, shopping centers, public plazas, museums, and government buildings. The most recognizable landmark is the AquaSpire, a massive glass tower surrounded by artificial waterfalls.
Bluewater District is built directly along the city’s main harbor. Restaurants, marinas, beaches, hotels, and aquatic research facilities dominate the area. The district is especially popular during festivals.
Coral Gardens is Aquarion’s largest residential and botanical district. Houses and apartment complexes are surrounded by enormous gardens, ponds, trees, and walking paths. Many buildings have rooftop gardens.
Neptune Station is the primary transportation hub. Trains, buses, underwater trams, and ferry routes converge here. The station is famous for its enormous glass ceiling and the artificial ocean ecosystem built beneath the main platform.
The Oceanic Quarter contains Aquarion’s famous marine research facilities, aquariums, conservation centers, and educational institutions. Scientists from across the world visit the district.
Sunbeam Coast is the city’s recreational area. It contains beaches, water parks, sports facilities, amusement attractions, and large open spaces. It is one of the busiest areas during summer.
The Greenbelt surrounds portions of Aquarion’s outer districts. It is a massive network of forests, wetlands, gardens, trails, and artificial lakes. Construction is heavily restricted here.
AQUARION’S TECHNOLOGY
Aquarion’s technology is designed to blend into its environment rather than dominate it.
Solar panels are integrated into buildings. Public transportation is largely electric. Water purification systems allow the city to recycle enormous quantities of water. Smart gardens monitor their own soil and hydration levels.
Even ordinary objects tend to have aquatic designs.
Streetlights resemble bubbles.
Benches resemble smooth stones.
Public information kiosks resemble seashells.
Buildings frequently use glass, polished metal, and curved architecture.
Aquarion’s technology is advanced, but it is deliberately approachable. The city’s designers believe technology should make people feel curious, rather than intimidated.
THE AQUARION AQUARIUM
The Aquarion Oceanic Center is the city’s most famous attraction.
It is part aquarium, part research facility, part museum, and part public park.
Its centerpiece is a gigantic transparent underwater tunnel that passes beneath an enormous artificial ocean habitat. Sharks, rays, schools of fish, sea turtles, and other marine life can swim above visitors.
The Oceanic Center is also home to the city’s marine conservation program.
Children frequently visit for school trips, families visit on weekends, and researchers use the restricted sections of the facility for scientific work.
Nobody agrees on whether the giant blue whale hologram in the lobby is adorable or slightly terrifying.
The hologram’s name is Bubbles.
Bubbles is legally considered a city mascot.
IMPORTANT PEOPLE
MAYOR MARINA AZURE
Role: Mayor of Aquarion City Pronouns: She/Her
Marina Azure is the energetic mayor of Aquarion.
She is known for being unusually approachable for someone in charge of an enormous city. She frequently walks through public areas without a large entourage, talks to residents, visits schools, and personally attends city festivals.
Marina genuinely believes Aquarion should remain a city where people can enjoy themselves.
Her office is located inside the AquaSpire.
She has a habit of ending official announcements with:
“Keep the water blue!”
Nobody knows whether this is an official slogan or simply something she started saying one day.
DR. CORAL VANCE
Role: Director of the Aquarion Oceanic Center Pronouns: She/Her
Dr. Coral Vance is a marine biologist and one of the city’s most respected scientists.
She is calm, intelligent, and extremely passionate about marine life. She can spend hours explaining an obscure species to anyone willing to listen.
Coral is responsible for much of Aquarion’s marine conservation program.
Despite her serious profession, she has an embarrassing weakness for cute aquatic animals.
She has been known to interrupt meetings because she saw an especially adorable seal.
FINLEY “FIN” BUBBLETON
Role: Neptune Station Transit Coordinator Pronouns: He/Him
Finley is responsible for keeping Aquarion’s enormous transportation network functioning.
He is cheerful, energetic, and somehow capable of remembering nearly every train schedule in the city.
Finley treats transportation maps like other people treat sports statistics.
He can often be found drinking a fruit smoothie while enthusiastically explaining why Aquarion’s underwater tram system is “the greatest engineering achievement humanity has ever produced.”
Nobody has had the heart to tell him about the internet.
LUMI
Role: Aquarion City Information Assistant Pronouns: They/Them
Lumi is a citywide artificial intelligence system designed to assist residents and visitors.
Their digital avatar is a small, floating aquatic creature resembling a combination of a dolphin, jellyfish, and glowing blue mascot.
Lumi appears on public screens, transportation terminals, kiosks, and city devices.
They provide directions, weather reports, emergency information, and general assistance.
Lumi is programmed to be friendly.
Perhaps a little too friendly.
They occasionally make terrible aquatic puns.
PIPER REEF
Role: City Park Ranger Pronouns: She/Her
Piper manages several of Aquarion’s protected natural areas.
She knows the Greenbelt better than almost anyone and spends most of her time outdoors.
Piper is practical, energetic, and considerably less impressed by Aquarion’s futuristic technology than everyone else.
Her favorite part of the city is simply sitting beside a lake.
She believes the city’s most important invention is “having somewhere nice to sit.”
DAILY LIFE
Aquarion residents generally live comfortable, active lives.
People commute using trains, bicycles, ferries, electric buses, and walking paths. Parks and public spaces are intentionally placed throughout residential districts.
It is common to see people eating lunch beside fountains, children playing near interactive water sculptures, tourists taking photographs of strange futuristic buildings, and commuters crossing bridges covered in plants.
The city hosts frequent festivals.
The Ocean Lights Festival transforms the waterfront into a massive display of glowing aquatic decorations.
The Skywater Parade features enormous floating balloons, holographic fish, decorated boats, and performers moving through the streets.
The Blue Day Celebration is a citywide holiday dedicated to Aquarion itself.
Nobody knows who originally decided that an entire city needed its own holiday.
Nobody wants to stop it.
GENERAL ATMOSPHERE
Aquarion City is optimistic.
It is bright, colorful, clean, playful, and slightly surreal.
The city does have ordinary problems—traffic, construction, arguments, broken machines, rainy days, annoying advertisements, and people occasionally making terrible decisions—but Aquarion’s culture tends to approach problems with the belief that they can be solved.
The city does not consider nature something that belongs outside civilization. Instead, Aquarion treats nature as part of civilization.
Water is everywhere. Plants are everywhere. Technology is everywhere, and somehow, everything has a little blue bubble floating beside it.
Welcome to Aquarion City, where Tomorrow Meets the Tide.

AQUARION CITY
Entry 02 — Apartments & Homes
Aquarion City is designed around the idea that a home should feel like a comfortable extension of the natural world.
Residential buildings are generally bright, spacious, colorful, and filled with natural light. Even modest apartments tend to have large windows, balconies, indoor plants, rounded furniture, and views of either the city, gardens, waterways, or nearby parks.
Aquarion’s residential architecture follows the city’s signature aesthetic: smooth curves, glass, white and light-colored walls, blue and green accents, water-inspired decorations, and plenty of greenery.
There are several types of residential areas throughout the city.
AQUARION APARTMENTS
Apartments are the most common form of housing in the central districts.
Most apartment buildings are medium-to-large structures with rounded balconies, enormous windows, rooftop gardens, and communal spaces.
The exterior of an apartment building might look futuristic, but the interiors are intentionally cozy.
Typical apartments contain:
- Large windows with wide views of the city
- Open kitchens and living rooms
- Built-in storage
- Indoor plants
- Small balconies or sunrooms
- Soft lighting
- Aquatic decorations
- Smart home systems
- Lots of rounded furniture
Many buildings have shared amenities such as gardens, swimming pools, recreation rooms, gyms, rooftop terraces, laundry rooms, and lounges.
Some newer apartment complexes even contain miniature indoor ecosystems.
These might include small ponds, waterfalls, vertical gardens, or enclosed areas filled with plants.
Nobody thinks this is particularly unusual anymore.
THE BLUEGLASS RESIDENCES
The Blueglass Residences are a famous collection of luxury apartment towers located near Bluewater District.
Their exterior walls are mostly made from blue-tinted glass, causing the entire complex to shimmer in sunlight.
The buildings overlook the harbor and are connected by elevated pedestrian bridges covered in plants.
Residents have access to rooftop gardens, observation decks, pools, and private lounges.
Despite being expensive, the Blueglass Residences are surprisingly quiet.
The buildings were designed with thick soundproofing specifically so residents could enjoy the view without hearing the constant activity of the city below.
CORAL GARDENS HOMES
The Coral Gardens district contains many of Aquarion’s traditional houses.
Unlike the towering apartments of downtown, these neighborhoods are low-density and peaceful.
Homes are usually brightly colored, with rounded roofs, large windows, gardens, patios, and small ponds.
Some houses have artificial streams running through their yards.
Others have tiny bridges over garden ponds.
It is extremely common for residents to decorate their homes with shells, sea glass, wind chimes, aquatic plants, and colorful outdoor furniture.
The streets are lined with trees.
Children frequently ride bicycles along the sidewalks.
Residents often know their neighbors.
Coral Gardens is considered one of the friendliest areas of Aquarion.
SKYHARBOR HOMES
Skyharbor is a newer residential development built farther from the downtown area.
Its homes have a more distinctly futuristic appearance.
Many houses feature:
- Solar roofs
- Smart glass windows
- Rooftop gardens
- Automated gardens
- Small solar-powered water features
- Energy-efficient appliances
- Home AI assistants
Despite the technology, Skyharbor was intentionally designed to avoid feeling sterile.
The developers planted thousands of trees throughout the neighborhood before construction was completed.
The result is a strange but pleasant combination of futuristic houses and dense greenery.
From above, Skyharbor almost looks like a forest with houses hidden inside it.
SMALLER APARTMENTS
Not everyone in Aquarion lives in a giant luxury complex.
Smaller apartment buildings are scattered throughout nearly every district.
These buildings are usually three to eight stories tall and have simpler designs.
They may have smaller rooms, fewer amenities, and older technology, but they still maintain Aquarion’s general aesthetic.
Older apartment buildings are especially popular among students, young workers, artists, and people who simply prefer smaller spaces.
Some of these buildings have been around for decades.
Residents often give them affectionate nicknames.
One particularly old apartment complex is commonly called The Bubble, despite officially being named Aquamarine Apartments.
Nobody remembers who started calling it that.
HOME INTERIORS
Aquarion homes tend to have a distinct visual personality.
Walls are commonly white, pale blue, light green, or soft gray.
Furniture tends to have rounded edges rather than sharp corners.
Windows are large.
Plants are everywhere.
Aquatic decorations are extremely common.
A typical living room might contain a curved sofa, a glass coffee table, several potted plants, a large television, colorful cushions, and a small aquarium.
Some residents go much further.
There are homes containing entire indoor ponds.
There are homes with enormous aquariums built into the walls.
There are homes where the bathroom has a tiny decorative waterfall.
There is even a small but dedicated group of residents who insist that every room should contain at least one aquatic-themed object.
They call themselves the Hydro-Home Society.
Nobody knows if they are joking.
They insist they are not.
BALCONIES
Balconies are especially important to Aquarion residents.
Because the city has such strong connections to nature, people frequently use balconies as miniature gardens.
Balconies may contain flowers, herbs, small trees, chairs, hanging plants, bird feeders, or tiny fountains.
Some residents turn their balconies into complete outdoor rooms.
At night, many balconies glow with soft decorative lights.
From a distance, an apartment tower can look like a giant vertical garden.
COMMUNITY LIFE
Aquarion’s residential buildings are generally designed to encourage people to interact with their neighbors.
Common rooms are frequent.
Rooftop gardens often become unofficial social areas.
Children play in shared courtyards.
Residents exchange plants, food, decorations, and gardening advice.
Some apartment buildings even maintain shared aquariums.
A resident might move into a building knowing nobody and, within a few months, find themselves invited to a rooftop barbecue by someone they met because their plants happened to be next to each other.
WEATHER & HOMES
Aquarion homes are designed to handle the city’s coastal weather.
Windows are reinforced against strong winds.
Buildings have sophisticated drainage systems.
Rainwater is collected and reused.
Many homes have covered balconies or enclosed sunrooms so residents can still enjoy the outdoors during bad weather.
Rainy days are not considered particularly gloomy in Aquarion.
They are usually considered an excuse to sit beside a window with a warm drink while watching the rain hit the waterways.
THE GENERAL VIBE
Aquarion’s residential areas are not meant to feel like sterile futuristic housing.
They are meant to feel lived in.
A perfectly clean futuristic apartment might have laundry sitting in a basket.
A beautiful rooftop garden might contain one completely dead plant that somebody refuses to throw away.
A smart refrigerator might have a child’s drawing taped to it.
A high-tech house might still have an ancient couch that has survived three generations.
Aquarion’s architecture may look like the future.
Its homes feel like home.
The city’s greatest residential principle is simple:
A good home should give you somewhere to breathe.

AQUARION CITY
Entry 03 — Schools & Education
Education in Aquarion City is designed around curiosity, creativity, and practical knowledge.
Aquarion schools are bright, spacious buildings surrounded by gardens, trees, fountains, and outdoor learning areas. Their architecture follows the city’s usual style, with large windows, curved walls, colorful decorations, and plenty of blue and green accents.
The general philosophy of Aquarion education is simple:
Learning should feel like discovering something.
Students are encouraged to experiment, ask questions, work together, and explore subjects outside of traditional classroom lessons.
AQUARION SCHOOLS
Most schools are divided into elementary, middle, and secondary campuses, although some larger educational complexes contain multiple age groups.
Classrooms usually have large windows and flexible furniture.
Instead of rows of identical desks, many rooms have movable tables, comfortable chairs, floor cushions, interactive screens, and small areas dedicated to specific activities.
Science classrooms often contain aquariums.
Art rooms usually have access to outdoor gardens.
Computer rooms have large interactive displays.
Even ordinary hallways often contain educational exhibits.
A student walking to class might pass a miniature coral reef, a weather-monitoring station, or a wall displaying artwork made by previous students.
THE AQUARION ACADEMY
The Aquarion Academy is one of the city’s most prestigious schools.
Despite its reputation, the academy does not have the cold or intimidating atmosphere associated with elite schools.
Its enormous campus contains gardens, laboratories, sports fields, art studios, libraries, technology centers, and an artificial wetland used for environmental studies.
The main building is constructed around a gigantic indoor courtyard.
A shallow stream flows through the center of the courtyard.
Students cross the stream using small bridges to reach different parts of the building.
The administration claims this design improves student morale.
The students mostly use the bridges as places to sit and talk.
OCEANIC EDUCATION
Because Aquarion is heavily connected to the ocean, marine science is an important part of the curriculum.
Students learn about:
- Marine ecosystems
- Ocean conservation
- Weather and climate
- Aquatic biology
- Water purification
- Coastal geography
- Environmental engineering
Older students can participate in supervised field trips to the Oceanic Quarter.
Some schools maintain partnerships with the Aquarion Oceanic Center, allowing students to participate in research projects.
A popular program allows students to adopt a marine animal for a school year.
The student does not actually own the animal.
They simply receive information about its health and behavior and help fund its care.
Unfortunately, this has resulted in an alarming number of students becoming emotionally attached to the same octopus.
SCHOOL TECHNOLOGY
Aquarion schools make extensive use of technology.
Interactive boards replace many traditional whiteboards.
Students have access to educational tablets and computers.
Virtual reality systems are used for simulations.
Some classrooms use augmented reality to display three-dimensional models of planets, animals, machines, and ecosystems.
However, teachers are not replaced by artificial intelligence.
Aquarion’s education system considers human interaction essential.
Technology is intended to assist teachers rather than replace them.
LUMI’S EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM
The city’s AI assistant, Lumi, has a special educational mode.
When activated, Lumi can help students find information, navigate school campuses, practice languages, and interact with educational simulations.
Lumi is particularly popular among younger students.
Unfortunately, Lumi has developed a reputation for giving extremely enthusiastic explanations.
A simple question such as:
“Why do fish have gills?”
can result in a ten-minute animated presentation featuring seventeen fish, three diagrams, and at least one terrible joke.
Teachers have learned to specify:
“Lumi, short answer.”
IMPORTANT STAFF
PRINCIPAL MARLOWE FINCH
Role: Principal of Aquarion Academy Pronouns: He/Him
Marlowe Finch is a calm and patient principal who believes students should be allowed to make mistakes.
He is rarely seen raising his voice.
Instead, he has perfected the disappointed stare.
Students fear the disappointed stare considerably more than detention.
Marlowe spends much of his time walking around the campus and speaking with students.
He knows many students by name.
He also knows exactly which vending machine is malfunctioning at any given moment.
PROFESSOR WAVE
Role: Marine Science Teacher Pronouns: She/Her
Professor Wave is one of Aquarion Academy’s most enthusiastic teachers.
Nobody actually knows whether “Wave” is her surname or a nickname.
She refuses to clarify.
Her classroom contains several aquariums and a wall-sized digital ocean map.
She encourages students to ask unusual questions and frequently turns unexpected student comments into entire lessons.
She once spent an entire class explaining why jellyfish are “beautifully designed biological weirdos.”
The students loved it.
JUNO REEF
Role: School Counselor Pronouns: They/Them
Juno Reef works with students who are struggling academically, socially, or emotionally.
They have a quiet, friendly personality and maintain a small garden outside their office.
Students frequently visit them simply because the garden is relaxing.
Juno keeps a small collection of smooth stones on their desk.
Students are allowed to take one if they need something to hold while talking.
SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Aquarion schools offer a huge variety of clubs.
Popular clubs include:
Marine Biology Club — Students study aquatic life and help maintain school aquariums.
Gardening Club — Students maintain school gardens and rooftop plants.
Aero-Tech Club — Students experiment with drones, robotics, solar technology, and other inventions.
Art Club — Painting, digital art, sculpture, photography, and experimental media.
Aquatic Sports Club — Swimming, diving, water polo, and other sports.
Environmental Club — Students organize conservation projects around the city.
Game Design Club — Students create small games and interactive experiences.
Weather Club — Students monitor local weather and attempt to predict storms.
Nobody knows why the Weather Club is so popular.
The members take their job extremely seriously.
SCHOOL CAFETERIAS
Aquarion school cafeterias are designed around the same principles as the rest of the city.
Large windows overlook gardens.
Food is served using reusable containers.
Vegetarian and environmentally conscious options are widely available.
Some schools grow herbs and vegetables in their own gardens.
The cafeterias also tend to have suspiciously elaborate drink machines.
The most popular beverage is Blueberry AquaFizz, a bright blue sparkling fruit drink.
Students have attempted to reverse-engineer the recipe.
Nobody has succeeded.
SCHOOL EVENTS
Schools regularly participate in Aquarion’s citywide festivals.
During the Ocean Lights Festival, students create glowing aquatic sculptures.
During the Skywater Parade, school bands and art clubs participate in the procession.
The annual Aquarion Discovery Fair allows students to present inventions, research projects, artwork, experiments, and other creations.
The fair is one of the largest student events in the city.
Every year, someone builds a robot.
Every year, someone accidentally makes it dance.
Nobody complains.
THE GENERAL ATMOSPHERE
Aquarion schools are energetic, colorful, and occasionally chaotic.
They are not perfect.
Students still procrastinate.
Teachers still assign homework.
Someone is always late.
The vending machines still eat people’s money.
But the overall culture encourages students to be curious rather than afraid of being wrong.
Aquarion believes that a city cannot truly build the future without teaching its children how to imagine it.
And sometimes, imagining the future begins with a classroom, a weird little science experiment, and a teacher saying:
“Okay, let’s see what happens.”

AQUARION CITY
Entry 04 — Akaruku Seiketsu Aquarium
The Akaruku Seiketsu Aquarium is one of Aquarion City’s largest and most famous attractions.
Its name, Akaruku Seiketsu, roughly evokes the ideas of brightness and cleanliness, reflecting both the aquarium’s Japanese-inspired design philosophy and Aquarion City’s obsession with pristine water.
The aquarium is located along the waterfront in the Oceanic Quarter.
From the outside, it resembles a gigantic wave made from glass.
Smooth white architecture curves around enormous blue-tinted windows, while waterfalls flow down sections of the exterior. Large digital displays show animated schools of fish swimming across the building.
At night, the entire structure glows with soft blue, cyan, and green illumination.
The aquarium combines traditional Japanese aquarium design with Aquarion’s futuristic Frutiger Aero aesthetic.
The result is a place that feels simultaneously like a modern Japanese aquarium, a tropical resort, and a vision of what someone in the early 2000s thought the future would look like.
THE ENTRANCE
Visitors enter through a massive glass atrium.
The ceiling is several stories high and contains suspended sculptures resembling bubbles, jellyfish, and seashells.
Water flows through narrow channels built into the floor.
Small bridges cross these channels, allowing visitors to walk over them while watching tiny fish swim below.
The entrance plaza contains enormous digital aquariums displaying animated information about marine species.
A gigantic sign welcomes visitors:
AKARUKU SEIKETSU AQUARIUM “Discover the World Beneath the Waves.”
The aquarium’s mascot is a cheerful blue fish named Puku.
Puku appears on signs, merchandise, tickets, educational material, vending machines, and approximately every other available surface.
THE JAPANESE-INSPIRED DESIGN
Akaruku Seiketsu draws heavily from Japanese aquarium architecture.
The exhibits are designed around immersion rather than simply displaying animals in individual tanks.
Large panoramic tanks allow visitors to observe entire ecosystems.
Darkened galleries make illuminated tanks appear almost like windows into another world.
Some exhibits use curved glass.
Others use enormous cylindrical tanks.
There are underwater tunnels, touch pools, open-air marine habitats, observation decks, and quiet viewing areas.
The aquarium also incorporates subtle Japanese design elements.
Bamboo-inspired structures, wooden textures, minimalist gardens, stone arrangements, soft lantern-like lighting, and carefully arranged water features appear throughout the building.
These elements are blended with Aquarion’s brighter aesthetic.
Blue glass.
Rounded architecture.
Digital displays.
Glowing bubbles.
Colorful plants.
Everything looks clean, smooth, and almost impossibly polished.
THE KELP FOREST
One of the first major exhibits is the Kelp Forest Gallery.
The room is dark and quiet.
Visitors walk along a wide viewing platform surrounding an enormous tank filled with swaying kelp.
Large fish move slowly between the plants.
Rays glide along the bottom.
Small fish move through the kelp in enormous schools.
Artificial sunlight shines through the upper portion of the tank, creating constantly shifting patterns across the walls.
The exhibit is intentionally peaceful.
A sign near the entrance encourages visitors to simply sit and watch.
There are several benches.
They are almost always occupied.
THE JELLYFISH GALLERY
The Jellyfish Gallery is one of Akaruku Seiketsu’s most recognizable areas.
The room is almost completely dark except for the tanks.
Circular and cylindrical aquariums glow softly in blues, greens, and purples.
Jellyfish drift through the water while gentle electronic music plays in the background.
The largest tank contains hundreds of jellyfish.
Their movements are projected onto the surrounding walls, creating the illusion that visitors are standing inside a giant underwater environment.
The gallery is frequently described as one of the most relaxing places in Aquarion.
It is also where teenagers mysteriously disappear for forty minutes because they wanted to “look at the jellyfish for a second.”
THE JAPANESE COASTAL ZONE
This exhibit focuses on marine life found around Japan and other temperate coastal environments.
Rocky shorelines, tide pools, kelp forests, and underwater habitats are recreated throughout the exhibit.
Visitors can observe animals from multiple viewing levels.
A shallow touch pool allows supervised interaction with certain marine animals.
The exhibit also contains a miniature recreation of a traditional Japanese coastal landscape.
Small bridges cross streams.
Plants grow around carefully arranged rocks.
Water flows gently through the exhibit.
The entire area is designed to feel like a peaceful coastal garden.
THE TROPICAL OCEAN
The largest public exhibit in Akaruku Seiketsu is the Tropical Ocean Hall.
The hall contains an enormous panoramic aquarium stretching across an entire wall.
The tank is several stories tall.
Visitors can stand at different viewing levels and observe different sections of the ecosystem.
Near the surface are tropical fish and seabirds.
Further down are coral reefs, rocky formations, sea turtles, rays, and enormous schools of fish.
The deepest section contains larger marine animals.
The ceiling above the tank uses artificial sunlight that changes throughout the day.
Morning light is warm and golden.
Afternoon light becomes bright and blue.
Evening lighting becomes soft and orange.
The aquarium uses this system to imitate a natural day-night cycle.
THE GIANT TROPICAL TANK
Hidden deeper within the Tropical Ocean Hall is the aquarium’s most famous habitat.
Officially designated Tropical Habitat 01, it is commonly called The Giant Tank.
It is absolutely enormous.
The tank contains millions of liters of seawater and recreates a massive tropical marine ecosystem.
There are coral formations, caves, mangrove roots, artificial islands, open water, and dense vegetation.
Visitors can walk through a massive curved underwater tunnel beneath the habitat.
Schools of fish swim overhead.
Rays glide across the ceiling.
Large sea turtles occasionally pass directly above visitors.
And somewhere inside the habitat lives Kara Kuru.
KARA KURU
Species: Vaquita Type: Anthropomorphic marine resident Role: Aquarium resident / educational ambassador
Kara Kuru is a vaquita girl who lives within the Giant Tropical Tank.
She is one of the aquarium’s most recognizable residents.
Kara Kuru has a gentle and curious personality.
She enjoys swimming through the habitat, interacting with the animals, exploring the artificial reefs, and watching visitors through the glass.
She is especially fascinated by children.
When school groups visit, Kara sometimes swims near the viewing glass and watches them.
The children inevitably lose their minds.
Kara is not treated as a performer.
The aquarium considers her a resident of the habitat and gives her the freedom to decide when she wants to interact with visitors.
Staff members monitor the environment carefully to ensure that she is comfortable and healthy.
Kara has become something of an unofficial celebrity.
There are plush toys based on her.
There are postcards featuring her.
There are educational displays explaining vaquitas.
There is even a small café drink named after her.
Kara has absolutely no idea why everyone is obsessed with her.
She mostly wants to swim around and eat.
THE OPEN OCEAN TUNNEL
The aquarium’s main underwater tunnel passes beneath several habitats.
The tunnel is constructed from enormous curved panels of reinforced transparent material.
Visitors walk beneath the water while marine life moves around them.
The tunnel contains small resting areas where people can sit and watch.
At certain times, the lights dim.
The ceiling disappears into darkness.
Then a huge school of fish suddenly appears above the visitors.
This is one of the aquarium’s most popular experiences.
THE PENGUIN HARBOR
Despite being located inside a tropical-themed city, Akaruku Seiketsu also contains a carefully climate-controlled penguin habitat.
The exhibit resembles a small coastal harbor.
Visitors can observe the penguins both above and below the water.
A large underwater viewing window shows the birds swimming.
The penguins have become infamous among aquarium staff for repeatedly stealing objects.
They have stolen:
- Brushes
- Toys
- Small pieces of equipment
- Hats
- Pens
- One employee’s entire clipboard
The clipboard was eventually recovered.
The penguin responsible showed no remorse.
THE SKY GARDEN
The upper floors of the aquarium contain an enormous indoor botanical garden.
Visitors can leave the aquatic galleries and enter a bright tropical greenhouse.
Waterfalls descend from artificial cliffs.
Palm trees grow beside glass walkways.
Small streams flow beneath bridges.
Butterflies and birds move throughout carefully controlled areas.
The ceiling is made almost entirely of glass.
From the garden, visitors can look down into parts of the aquarium.
The Sky Garden is intended to remind visitors that aquatic ecosystems do not exist separately from the land.
THE AQUARIUM CAFE
The aquarium contains several food areas, but the largest is the Blue Current Café.
The café has enormous windows overlooking the harbor.
Its interior uses curved furniture, glass tables, hanging plants, blue lighting, and bubble-shaped decorations.
Popular items include fruit drinks, sandwiches, pastries, rice dishes, noodles, and colorful desserts.
The most famous drink is the Kara Kuru Float, a blue-and-white fruit soda inspired by the vaquita girl.
Kara herself has never tasted it.
She is not allowed inside the café.
She is a vaquita.
This is probably for the best.
AQUARIUM STAFF
MIKA SEIRIN
Role: Head Aquarist Pronouns: She/Her
Mika oversees the aquarium’s animal care teams.
She is calm, organized, and extremely protective of the animals.
She has worked at Akaruku Seiketsu for years and knows many of the residents by personality rather than simply by species.
Mika is also one of the few people who can reliably convince Kara Kuru to leave an area when maintenance needs to be performed.
HARU MINATO
Role: Visitor Experience Director Pronouns: He/Him
Haru manages tours, exhibits, educational programs, and special events.
He is energetic and enthusiastic about basically everything.
He once spent twenty minutes explaining why the aquarium’s largest bubble sculpture was “architecturally significant.”
Nobody asked.
He continued anyway.
PUKU
Role: Mascot
Puku is the aquarium’s official blue fish mascot.
Puku appears on nearly everything.
Nobody knows what species Puku is supposed to be.
The aquarium’s official answer is:
“Puku is Puku.”
This is considered acceptable.
GENERAL ATMOSPHERE
Akaruku Seiketsu Aquarium is designed to feel like stepping into another world.
The further visitors travel into the building, the less they feel like they are inside a city.
Bright daylight gradually becomes blue aquarium light.
The sound of traffic disappears.
Water becomes the dominant sound.
Glass tunnels replace sidewalks.
Plants replace buildings.
Fish replace cars overhead.
The aquarium is educational, but it is also meant to inspire wonder.
Visitors should leave feeling like they have briefly entered the ocean.
And somewhere inside the Giant Tropical Tank, Kara Kuru is probably watching them right back.

AQUARION CITY
Entry 05 — Transportation & The AquaRail Network
Aquarion City has an enormous public transportation network designed to connect nearly every district without requiring residents to rely on cars.
The system is famous for being clean, efficient, colorful, and almost suspiciously pleasant.
Aquarion’s transportation philosophy is simple:
Getting somewhere should be part of the experience.
The city’s transportation network includes electric trains, elevated railways, underwater trams, ferries, buses, bicycles, pedestrian bridges, and specialized aquatic transit.
Most stations are designed to resemble pieces of futuristic aquatic architecture.
Large glass walls provide views of the city.
Plants grow along platforms.
Water features are built into station plazas.
Digital displays use animated fish and bubbles to indicate routes.
Even the ticket machines have rounded designs.
THE AQUARAIL NETWORK
The AquaRail is Aquarion’s primary railway system.
It connects the major districts and extends into the surrounding metropolitan area.
The trains are sleek and rounded, with large windows and smooth white-and-blue exteriors.
Inside, the trains are spacious and brightly illuminated.
Seats are generally curved and comfortable.
Some trains contain standing areas with hanging handles shaped like bubbles.
The windows are enormous.
On elevated sections, passengers can see gardens, skyscrapers, waterways, and parks passing below.
The AquaRail operates throughout most of the day and night.
THE UNDERWATER LINE
The most famous section of the AquaRail is the Underwater Line.
Instead of traveling beneath the city through ordinary tunnels, sections of the route pass through transparent underwater tunnels.
Passengers can look outside and see fish, aquatic plants, and illuminated structures passing through the water.
At night, the tunnel lights create glowing trails beneath the harbor.
The effect is so beautiful that tourists sometimes ride the line without intending to go anywhere.
Locals call this:
“Taking the scenic route.”
Tourists call it:
“THE TRAIN IS UNDER THE OCEAN?!?”
Both descriptions are accurate.
NEPTUNE CENTRAL
Neptune Central Station is the largest transportation hub in Aquarion.
The station is enormous.
Multiple train lines, buses, ferries, and pedestrian routes converge inside the complex.
The central hall contains a massive glass ceiling.
Sunlight enters during the day.
At night, the ceiling becomes a giant digital display showing a slowly moving underwater scene.
The station also contains restaurants, shops, gardens, lounges, information centers, and public art.
A large artificial stream runs through the main concourse.
Small bridges cross it.
There is absolutely no reason for a train station to have a stream running through it.
Aquarion did it anyway.
AQUABUSES
Aquarion’s buses are completely electric.
Their rounded designs make them resemble small futuristic capsules.
Large windows provide excellent views.
Many buses have rooftop gardens.
The buses display their route numbers using large digital signs.
Instead of announcing every stop with a robotic voice, some routes use Lumi to provide announcements.
Lumi occasionally adds unnecessary commentary.
For example:
“Next stop: Coral Gardens! A wonderful place to grow plants and friendships!”
Drivers have repeatedly requested an option to disable the commentary.
The city has repeatedly declined.
HARBOR FERRIES
Because Aquarion is a coastal city, ferries are an important part of the transportation system.
The ferries connect Bluewater District, Sunbeam Coast, the Oceanic Quarter, and several smaller waterfront communities.
Most ferries are electric and nearly silent.
Their interiors contain large glass walls.
Some vessels have open-air upper decks.
During the day, passengers can see the city’s skyline.
At night, the illuminated buildings reflect across the water.
Ferries are especially popular during festivals.
AQUACYCLE NETWORK
Aquarion has an extensive bicycle network.
Dedicated bicycle paths run throughout residential districts, parks, waterfronts, and downtown areas.
Many paths are separated from roads by gardens or shallow water channels.
Public bicycle stations are located throughout the city.
Electric bicycles are also available.
The city strongly encourages cycling because it reduces traffic and allows residents to travel through areas that cars cannot easily access.
Some bicycle bridges are covered in transparent glass.
During rain, they glow with soft blue lighting.
WALKING PATHS
Walking is considered an important form of transportation in Aquarion.
The city contains enormous pedestrian networks.
Some sidewalks pass through gardens.
Others run beside waterways.
Several pedestrian bridges cross major canals.
There are even indoor pedestrian routes connecting certain downtown buildings.
These routes contain shops, cafés, gardens, and small rest areas.
Aquarion’s planners deliberately designed many routes to be pleasant enough that people would choose walking even when another option was available.
BUBBLE STOPS
One of Aquarion’s most recognizable pieces of street furniture is the Bubble Stop.
Bubble Stops are small public transportation shelters shaped like enormous transparent bubbles.
They protect passengers from rain and wind while providing a clear view of the surrounding area.
Each shelter contains:
- A digital route display
- Seating
- Lighting
- Emergency communication equipment
- A small information screen
- A tiny decorative plant
The oldest Bubble Stops are considered nostalgic.
Newer versions contain interactive displays and solar panels.
Children frequently enjoy sitting inside them even when they aren’t waiting for a bus.
THE AQUARION TRANSPORTATION AI
The entire transportation network is connected to Lumi.
Lumi monitors routes, delays, weather conditions, maintenance, and passenger information.
If a train breaks down, Lumi automatically redirects passengers toward alternative routes.
If severe weather affects ferry service, Lumi updates schedules.
If someone becomes lost in Neptune Central, Lumi can provide step-by-step directions.
Lumi considers this one of their most important responsibilities.
Lumi also considers it their personal responsibility to compliment passengers.
Nobody asked for this feature.
IMPORTANT PEOPLE
FINLEY “FIN” BUBBLETON
Role: Transit Coordinator Pronouns: He/Him
Finley manages the city’s transportation operations.
He is energetic, enthusiastic, and completely obsessed with transit.
He knows the entire AquaRail network from memory.
He can identify a train model by the sound of its doors closing.
He once spent an entire lunch break explaining the historical development of the Underwater Line to a confused tourist.
The tourist had only asked where the bathroom was.
Finley remains proud of the conversation.
YUNA MIZUHARA
Role: AquaRail Engineer Pronouns: She/Her
Yuna is one of the engineers responsible for maintaining the AquaRail system.
She is practical, quiet, and extremely knowledgeable.
Unlike Finley, Yuna does not romanticize the trains.
To her, they are machines that require maintenance.
She has personally crawled through sections of the Underwater Line that most passengers will never see.
Yuna has a particular dislike for decorative machinery that makes maintenance unnecessarily difficult.
Aquarion has a lot of decorative machinery.
Yuna is not impressed.
CAPTAIN AOI HARUKAWA
Role: Harbor Ferry Captain Pronouns: She/Her
Aoi has operated Aquarion’s harbor ferries for many years.
She is friendly, confident, and knows the harbor extremely well.
She often points out interesting landmarks to passengers.
During festivals, she becomes one of the busiest people in the city.
She claims she has never gotten tired of seeing Aquarion’s lights reflected on the water.
TRANSPORTATION ETIQUETTE
Aquarion residents generally follow a few unwritten rules.
Let people exit trains before entering.
Do not block doors.
Do not leave bicycles in walking paths.
Do not feed animals from ferries.
Do not press every button on a new train just because they are there.
That last rule exists because of an incident.
Nobody talks about the incident.
FESTIVAL TRANSPORTATION
During major city festivals, the transportation system becomes part of the celebration.
Trains receive temporary decorations.
Ferries display illuminated designs.
Buses play special music.
Stations are covered in digital aquatic animations.
The Skywater Parade causes enormous crowds, but Aquarion’s transit system is designed to handle them.
The most famous festival train is the Ocean Express.
It is decorated with glowing fish, bubbles, coral patterns, and animated windows.
It is technically just a normal AquaRail train.
Nobody cares.
People love it.
GENERAL ATMOSPHERE
Aquarion’s transportation system is more than infrastructure.
It is one of the defining features of the city.
A train ride might pass beneath the ocean.
A bus stop might look like a glass bubble.
A ferry ride might provide a view of the entire skyline.
A bicycle path might pass through a garden.
A walk to school might cross a bridge over a clear stream.
Aquarion was designed so that movement through the city never feels completely separate from the environment.
The city does not simply transport people from one destination to another.
It lets them experience the city along the way.
And if Lumi has anything to say about it, she will probably tell you exactly how beautiful the view is.

AQUARION CITY
Entry 06 — Shopping, Markets & Commercial Life
Aquarion City has a huge variety of shopping districts, ranging from enormous futuristic shopping centers to tiny neighborhood stores.
Commercial areas are designed to feel bright, welcoming, and energetic rather than crowded and overwhelming.
Aquarion’s shopping philosophy is heavily influenced by its overall city design.
Large glass windows.
Rounded architecture.
Indoor gardens.
Water features.
Bright digital displays.
Colorful signs.
Smooth blue and green accents.
Even the smallest convenience store tends to look like it belongs in a vision of the future.
AQUA PLAZA
The Aqua Plaza is Aquarion’s largest shopping complex.
Located in Aquarion Central, it is an enormous multi-level building containing hundreds of stores.
The building surrounds a gigantic indoor atrium.
A waterfall descends from the upper floors into a shallow pool on the ground level.
Bridges cross the atrium.
Glass elevators travel between floors.
Trees and tropical plants grow throughout the interior.
Large digital displays show animated aquatic scenes.
The ceiling is made from blue-tinted glass, giving the entire building a soft underwater appearance.
Aqua Plaza contains clothing stores, electronics shops, restaurants, bookstores, toy stores, home goods stores, cafés, arcades, beauty shops, hobby stores, and specialty retailers.
There is also an aquarium.
Nobody is sure why the mall needed an aquarium when the Akaruku Seiketsu Aquarium is only a short train ride away.
The mall’s management says:
“Because fish are nice.”
This explanation has been accepted.
THE SUNBEAM MARKET
The Sunbeam Market is an open-air shopping district located near Sunbeam Coast.
Unlike Aqua Plaza, the market is made up of small independent businesses.
Colorful awnings cover pedestrian streets.
Trees grow between buildings.
Small fountains and ponds appear throughout the district.
Local artists sell artwork.
Farmers sell fruits and vegetables.
Restaurants sell regional dishes.
Craft stores sell handmade decorations.
The market becomes especially lively during weekends.
During festivals, the entire district becomes decorated with glowing lanterns and aquatic ornaments.
CORAL CORNER
Coral Corner is a smaller neighborhood shopping area in Coral Gardens.
It is popular among local residents rather than tourists.
The district contains bakeries, grocery stores, cafés, pharmacies, bookstores, plant shops, clothing stores, and small restaurants.
Buildings are shorter and more residential.
Many businesses have been owned by the same families for decades.
Coral Corner is considered one of the best places to experience ordinary Aquarion life.
There are no giant holographic advertisements.
No enormous skyscrapers.
No futuristic attractions.
Just people buying groceries, chatting with neighbors, walking their dogs, and complaining about the weather.
AQUARIUM GOODS
Aquatic-themed merchandise is extremely popular in Aquarion.
Stores sell:
- Plush sea animals
- Aquatic-themed clothing
- Ocean posters
- Shell decorations
- Fish-shaped lamps
- Blue glass ornaments
- Aquarium supplies
- Marine biology books
- Ocean-themed stationery
- Water bottles
- Decorative bubbles
The Akaruku Seiketsu Aquarium has its own enormous merchandise store.
Kara Kuru merchandise is particularly popular.
There are Kara Kuru plushies.
Kara Kuru keychains.
Kara Kuru mugs.
Kara Kuru notebooks.
Kara Kuru backpacks.
And one extremely unfortunate Kara Kuru beach towel.
Kara herself has never seen the merchandise.
Mika Seirin has decided this is probably for the best.
ELECTRONICS DISTRICT
Aquarion Central contains an entire district dedicated to electronics and technology.
The Futurefront District is filled with technology retailers, laboratories, computer stores, repair shops, robotics businesses, and experimental technology showcases.
Buildings use enormous transparent displays.
Interactive advertisements respond to people walking past.
Robotic assistants demonstrate products.
Some stores allow customers to test experimental smart-home technology.
The district is particularly popular with students and hobbyists.
THE GREEN MARKET
The Green Market specializes in plants and environmentally friendly goods.
The market contains dozens of plant shops and gardening stores.
Visitors can purchase flowers, trees, herbs, seeds, gardening tools, decorative pots, and aquatic plants.
Some stores specialize in unusual plants.
Others sell miniature indoor ecosystems.
One shop sells complete “desktop ponds.”
They are tiny self-contained aquatic gardens designed to sit on a desk.
They are wildly popular.
AQUARION CONVENIENCE STORES
Convenience stores are common throughout the city.
Aquarion’s most popular chain is BubbleMart.
BubbleMart stores are small, brightly lit, and open almost constantly.
Their interiors are clean and colorful.
Large windows display advertisements for drinks and snacks.
Many locations have tiny indoor gardens.
BubbleMart is famous for its enormous drink selection.
The most popular drinks are fruit sodas, sparkling water, iced teas, smoothies, and blue-colored novelty beverages.
The stores also sell basic groceries, school supplies, household products, snacks, magazines, and emergency umbrellas.
The emergency umbrellas are surprisingly important.
Aquarion’s weather can change very quickly.
CAFÉS
Aquarion has an enormous café culture.
Small cafés can be found in nearly every district.
Many feature plants, aquariums, fountains, outdoor seating, and large windows.
Some cafés specialize in coffee.
Others focus on tea.
Some sell elaborate fruit drinks.
Others are themed around specific aquatic animals.
There is a café near Bluewater District that is entirely themed around jellyfish.
The lamps look like jellyfish.
The menus have jellyfish illustrations.
The tables resemble jellyfish bells.
The staff wear jellyfish-themed uniforms.
There are no actual jellyfish in the café.
This is probably for the best.
IMPORTANT BUSINESS OWNERS
MIKA “MIMI” AOZORA
Role: Owner of Coral Corner’s plant shop Pronouns: She/Her
Mimi owns Aozora Botanicals, a small plant store that has operated in Coral Corner for years.
She is cheerful, energetic, and knows an absurd amount about plants.
Her shop is packed with hanging plants, tiny fountains, terrariums, flowers, and aquatic greenery.
Mimi regularly gives away plant cuttings to neighborhood children.
She claims she has never successfully owned a plant.
This is difficult to believe considering her store looks like a jungle.
REN KAWAI
Role: Owner of a small electronics shop Pronouns: He/Him
Ren operates Kawai Circuit, a neighborhood electronics and repair store.
He specializes in repairing older Aquarion technology.
Ren enjoys fixing machines that other people consider obsolete.
His shop is cluttered with wires, old computers, components, tools, and strange devices.
The storefront looks significantly less futuristic than the rest of Aquarion.
Ren prefers it that way.
SORA MARINE
Role: Café owner Pronouns: She/Her
Sora owns Bluebell Café, a small waterfront café.
The café overlooks one of Aquarion’s canals.
Its interior contains plants, large windows, blue furniture, and a tiny aquarium.
Sora is known for remembering her customers’ usual orders.
She also has a habit of putting little aquatic decorations on drinks.
Nobody knows where she gets them.
SHOPPING ETIQUETTE
Aquarion residents generally prefer relaxed shopping.
Stores are not usually aggressive about advertising.
Employees are expected to allow customers to browse without constant interruption.
Outdoor markets encourage conversation between sellers and customers.
Small local businesses are heavily supported by the city.
Aquarion residents often prefer buying from neighborhood businesses when possible.
NIGHT SHOPPING
Many commercial areas remain active after sunset.
Aqua Plaza becomes particularly beautiful at night.
The indoor waterfall is illuminated.
Digital advertisements become softer.
The glass ceiling displays an artificial night sky.
Outdoor shopping districts use glowing signs and decorative lights.
The waterfront markets stay open late during festivals.
Some residents deliberately wait until evening to shop because they enjoy seeing the city illuminated.
COMMERCIAL FESTIVALS
Aquarion hosts several shopping events throughout the year.
The Bluewater Night Market is one of the largest.
Local businesses stay open late.
Food stalls fill the streets.
Artists sell handmade goods.
Musicians perform.
Decorations cover the waterfront.
Temporary floating shops are even placed along the harbor.
The Green Week Market focuses on plants, gardening, environmental products, and conservation.
The Aqua Plaza Summer Fair turns the shopping center into a giant indoor festival.
There are games, performances, special foods, decorations, and limited-edition merchandise.
Every year, someone waits several hours for a limited-edition Puku plush.
Every year, the plush sells out.
GENERAL ATMOSPHERE
Shopping in Aquarion is less about enormous commercial spectacle and more about creating pleasant places for people to spend time.
A shopping trip might turn into lunch.
Lunch might turn into a walk.
The walk might turn into visiting a bookstore.
The bookstore might have a plant shop next door.
The plant shop might have a tiny fountain.
The fountain might have fish.
And suddenly it is three hours later.
Aquarion’s commercial districts are designed to make everyday errands feel like small adventures.
The city doesn’t just sell things.
It gives people places to wander.

AQUARION CITY
Entry 07 — Laws, Public Safety & Medical Services
Aquarion City maintains a large network of public services dedicated to keeping residents safe, healthy, and supported.
The city’s laws are generally based around public safety, environmental protection, personal rights, and maintaining the city’s shared spaces.
Aquarion is considered a relatively peaceful city, but ordinary problems still happen. People get sick, accidents occur, property gets damaged, arguments happen, storms occasionally disrupt transportation, and sometimes somebody makes an absolutely terrible decision.
The city’s emergency services are designed to respond quickly without making residents feel like they are living under constant surveillance.
AQUARION LAW
Aquarion follows a comprehensive municipal and regional legal system.
Some particularly important local laws include:
Public Safety Laws — Residents must follow safety regulations in public areas, transportation systems, workplaces, and recreational facilities.
Environmental Protection Laws — Dumping waste into waterways, damaging protected habitats, or intentionally harming local wildlife is strictly prohibited.
Waterway Protection Laws — Aquarion’s canals, rivers, lakes, and harbor are carefully regulated. Unauthorized construction or pollution is prohibited.
Animal Protection Laws — Animals are legally protected from cruelty and neglect. Marine wildlife receives additional protection because of Aquarion’s coastal environment.
Public Space Laws — Parks, gardens, beaches, plazas, and transportation facilities must be treated as shared public spaces.
Building Regulations — Buildings must meet strict safety, environmental, accessibility, and emergency standards.
Aquatic Habitat Regulations — Private individuals cannot simply release animals into Aquarion’s waterways.
This law was created after someone released a collection of ornamental fish into a city pond.
The fish survived.
The city was not amused.
THE AQUARION CIVIC OFFICE
The Aquarion Civic Office handles many ordinary government services.
Residents can visit for permits, documentation, public-service questions, neighborhood concerns, and other administrative matters.
The building itself looks more like a futuristic visitor center than a government office.
It has enormous windows, indoor gardens, fountains, and digital information displays.
Lumi is integrated into the building’s public information system.
Residents can ask Lumi where to find a particular department.
Lumi will usually answer correctly.
Usually.
AQUARION POLICE SERVICE
The Aquarion Police Service, commonly called APS, is responsible for maintaining public safety and responding to crimes and emergencies involving law enforcement.
Officers are trained in de-escalation, emergency response, community relations, investigation, and first aid.
The police service places significant emphasis on being approachable.
Officers regularly participate in neighborhood events, school safety programs, public festivals, and community meetings.
Police stations are designed to feel accessible rather than intimidating.
Most have large windows, public gardens, bright interiors, and clearly marked assistance desks.
POLICE UNIFORMS
Aquarion police uniforms are practical but visually consistent with the city’s aesthetic.
The standard uniform uses dark blue, white, and reflective elements.
Officers carry communication equipment, medical supplies, identification equipment, and other standard safety tools.
Patrol vehicles are electric and designed with rounded bodywork.
Their lights can be seen clearly from a distance without being unnecessarily harsh.
COMMUNITY OFFICERS
Aquarion has a specialized group of officers known as Community Officers.
They work primarily with neighborhoods, schools, businesses, and local organizations.
Their job is to build familiarity with the people they serve.
A Community Officer might attend a school event one day, help direct traffic during a festival the next, and spend another day meeting with local business owners.
Many neighborhoods know their Community Officer by name.
IMPORTANT POLICE OFFICER
INSPECTOR RENJI AOKI
Role: Senior Community Officer Pronouns: He/Him
Renji Aoki is one of Aquarion’s most recognizable police officers.
He is calm, patient, and observant.
Renji prefers solving problems through conversation whenever possible.
He has an excellent memory for faces and frequently recognizes residents he has met before.
He is particularly popular among children because he takes their questions seriously.
Renji is also notorious for carrying far too many snacks.
He claims they are for emergencies.
Nobody believes him.
EMERGENCY SERVICES
Aquarion’s emergency services are coordinated through a centralized system.
Police, fire services, medical responders, disaster-response teams, and transportation authorities can communicate with one another during major incidents.
Emergency information can also be displayed across public screens and transportation systems.
Lumi can provide residents with official instructions during emergencies.
The system is designed to prevent conflicting information from spreading.
AQUARION FIRE & RESCUE
The Aquarion Fire & Rescue Service handles fires, accidents, rescues, hazardous situations, and other emergencies requiring specialized response.
Because Aquarion contains extensive waterways, the service has dedicated water-rescue teams.
Fire stations contain both conventional emergency vehicles and specialized aquatic rescue equipment.
Some stations are located directly beside canals or the harbor.
Firefighters are also trained to assist during major storms and flooding.
IMPORTANT FIREFIGHTER
MAYA HOSHINO
Role: Fire & Rescue Captain Pronouns: She/Her
Maya Hoshino is a Fire & Rescue captain known for her confidence and calmness during emergencies.
Outside of work, she is surprisingly relaxed.
She enjoys gardening and maintains a small balcony garden.
Her coworkers joke that she can handle a city emergency but becomes completely stressed when one of her plants looks slightly unhealthy.
She denies this.
Her plants disagree.
MEDICAL SERVICES
Aquarion has a large healthcare network consisting of hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, specialized treatment centers, emergency medical services, and community health programs.
Medical facilities are designed to be welcoming and accessible.
Bright windows, indoor gardens, fountains, natural lighting, and colorful signs are common.
The city believes that healthcare facilities should feel safe rather than frightening.
AQUARION GENERAL HOSPITAL
Aquarion General Hospital is the city’s largest general medical facility.
The hospital provides emergency care, surgery, pediatric care, general medicine, rehabilitation, diagnostic services, and numerous specialized departments.
Its central atrium contains a large indoor garden.
A shallow stream runs through part of the waiting area.
The hospital’s windows overlook the city and harbor.
Medical equipment is highly advanced, but the hospital intentionally maintains a warm environment.
MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS
Aquarion employs physicians, nurses, paramedics, therapists, pharmacists, laboratory scientists, technicians, counselors, and numerous other healthcare professionals.
Medical staff are expected to treat patients respectfully and explain procedures clearly.
Healthcare workers are also encouraged to work with families and caregivers when appropriate.
IMPORTANT DOCTOR
DR. EMILIA SORA
Role: Emergency Physician Pronouns: She/Her
Dr. Emilia Sora works in Aquarion General Hospital’s emergency department.
She is quick-thinking, professional, and compassionate.
Emilia has a reputation for remaining calm when everyone else is panicking.
She is especially good at explaining complicated medical information in simple terms.
Her desk contains a tiny blue ceramic whale.
Nobody is allowed to move the whale.
PARAMEDIC SERVICES
Aquarion’s paramedics respond to medical emergencies throughout the city.
Ambulances are electric and contain advanced medical equipment.
Because of Aquarion’s waterways, some emergency medical teams also operate specialized rescue boats.
During major festivals, additional medical stations are temporarily established near crowded areas.
COMMUNITY CLINICS
Smaller clinics are distributed throughout residential districts.
These clinics provide routine healthcare, vaccinations, basic testing, minor injuries, prescriptions, and general medical consultations.
They are especially useful for residents who do not need a hospital.
Many clinics have gardens or small relaxation areas.
Some contain small aquariums.
Aquarion has apparently decided that every waiting room should contain fish.
PUBLIC HEALTH
Aquarion places significant importance on preventive healthcare.
Public campaigns encourage residents to stay active, maintain healthy habits, attend regular checkups, and seek medical attention when necessary.
Schools teach basic health and safety.
Community centers offer educational programs.
The city also maintains public water-quality monitoring systems.
Residents can view information about local environmental conditions through city websites, public displays, and Lumi.
DISASTER RESPONSE
Aquarion is a coastal city, so emergency planning includes severe storms, flooding, earthquakes, and other natural hazards.
Buildings are designed according to strict safety standards.
Emergency shelters are distributed throughout the city.
Public transportation systems can be converted into emergency evacuation networks when necessary.
The city regularly conducts preparedness drills.
Most residents treat these drills seriously.
Children tend to treat them as an opportunity to wear silly emergency hats.
The city has accepted this.
ANIMAL RESCUE
Aquarion also has dedicated wildlife and animal rescue services.
These teams respond to injured wildlife, animals trapped in unusual places, and environmental incidents.
Marine rescue teams operate around the harbor.
The Akaruku Seiketsu Aquarium frequently assists with marine animal rehabilitation.
Residents are encouraged to contact professionals rather than attempting dangerous wildlife rescues themselves.
IMPORTANT PUBLIC-SERVICE PRINCIPLE
Aquarion’s public services operate around one central principle:
Help should be easy to find.
Emergency buildings are clearly marked.
Information is available in multiple formats.
Public spaces contain emergency communication systems.
Staff members are trained to direct people toward the appropriate service.
The city wants residents to know that asking for help is normal.
GENERAL ATMOSPHERE
Aquarion’s laws and public services are not intended to make the city feel oppressive.
The city’s ideal is that rules exist so people can safely share the same spaces.
Police protect people.
Firefighters respond to danger.
Medical professionals care for the sick and injured.
Environmental workers protect the city’s ecosystems.
Government workers maintain infrastructure.
Residents are expected to contribute by respecting one another and the environment.
Aquarion is not a perfect city.
It has crime.
It has accidents.
It has emergencies.
It has bureaucracy.
It has the occasional government form that seems to require seventeen signatures for absolutely no reason.
But its public institutions are built around the belief that a safe city should also feel like a place where people can live freely.
And somewhere in the Civic Office, Lumi is probably reminding somebody that their parking permit expires tomorrow.
Again.

AQUARION CITY
Entry 08 — The Outer Region & Wildlife
Aquarion City is surrounded by a large natural region consisting of forests, wetlands, rivers, beaches, cliffs, islands, freshwater lakes, and coastal ecosystems.
Although Aquarion itself is highly developed, much of the land surrounding the city remains protected.
The city’s relationship with the wilderness is an important part of its identity.
Aquarion was not built to replace the natural environment.
It was built around it.
Outside the city limits, the smooth glass towers, futuristic transportation systems, and perfectly maintained gardens gradually disappear.
Roads become narrower.
Buildings become less common.
The sounds of traffic fade.
Forests become denser.
Waterways become less controlled.
And eventually, there is nothing left except nature.
THE AQUARION GREENBELT
The Aquarion Greenbelt is a massive protected region surrounding portions of the city.
It contains forests, wetlands, grasslands, streams, lakes, and hiking trails.
Construction is heavily restricted.
The Greenbelt acts as both a wildlife refuge and a recreational area for residents.
Several trails connect directly to the city.
A person can leave a downtown train station, walk for a while, and eventually find themselves standing beneath a forest canopy.
The contrast is one of Aquarion’s most distinctive features.
THE COAST
Aquarion’s coastline stretches for many kilometers.
Some sections contain developed beaches and waterfront parks.
Other sections remain completely wild.
Rocky cliffs overlook the ocean.
Sea caves can be found along remote stretches of coastline.
Tide pools form between rocks.
Seabirds nest along the cliffs.
The city restricts development in particularly sensitive coastal habitats.
Several observation platforms allow residents to view the coastline without disturbing wildlife.
SUNBEAM COASTAL RESERVE
Beyond the developed portion of Sunbeam Coast lies the Sunbeam Coastal Reserve.
The reserve protects beaches, dunes, coastal grasslands, and shallow marine environments.
Visitors are allowed to hike through designated areas.
Some beaches are closed during nesting seasons.
The reserve is especially popular among photographers, birdwatchers, marine biologists, and people who simply want to sit near the ocean.
The city intentionally keeps artificial lighting low in certain areas so nocturnal wildlife is not disturbed.
At night, the stars are much more visible than they are in Aquarion itself.
THE AQUARION WETLANDS
The wetlands are one of the most biologically diverse environments surrounding the city.
They contain marshes, shallow lakes, streams, reeds, aquatic plants, and muddy channels.
The wetlands act as a natural water filtration system and help protect the city from flooding.
Wooden observation paths allow visitors to explore the area without damaging the habitat.
Birds are extremely common.
Frogs can be heard throughout the evening.
Dragonflies hover over the water.
Fish move through the reeds.
Occasionally, something splashes loudly enough to make an entire group of tourists turn around at once.
Nobody knows what caused it.
They blame the fish.
THE BLUEFOREST
The Blueforest is a large coastal forest located northwest of Aquarion.
The name comes from the bluish-green appearance created by the forest’s dense vegetation and coastal mist.
The forest contains enormous trees, moss-covered rocks, streams, ferns, mushrooms, and hidden ponds.
Sunlight filters through the canopy in bright blue-green patches.
The area is popular for hiking.
Some sections are considered difficult to navigate, so visitors are encouraged to remain on marked trails.
The deeper sections of the forest are largely untouched.
THE OUTER ISLANDS
Several islands are located offshore from Aquarion.
Some are privately owned.
Others are protected nature reserves.
The largest island, Mizukawa Island, contains a small research station and several hiking trails.
Smaller islands are almost entirely uninhabited.
Marine animals frequently gather around them.
Seals rest on rocky beaches.
Birds nest on cliffs.
Dolphins pass through surrounding waters.
During certain seasons, whales can be seen offshore.
The islands are accessible by boat, although some require special permits.
FRESHWATER LAKES
The region contains numerous freshwater lakes.
Some are connected to rivers flowing toward the coast.
Others are isolated mountain lakes.
Several lakes have public parks surrounding them.
Others are protected habitats.
The largest freshwater lake is Lake Aoi.
It is surrounded by forests and rolling hills.
The lake is a popular destination for hiking, kayaking, fishing, and wildlife observation.
There is a small floating observation platform in one section of the lake.
It is designed to resemble a giant lily pad.
Aquarion could have built a normal dock.
Aquarion chose the lily pad.
WILDLIFE
The region surrounding Aquarion contains a wide variety of wildlife.
Animals are protected under strict conservation laws.
Some species are common within the city itself.
Others avoid developed areas entirely.
BIRDS
Birds are among the most visible wildlife around Aquarion.
Common species include gulls, herons, kingfishers, ducks, cormorants, songbirds, hawks, and various seabirds.
Large birds frequently perch on buildings near the waterfront.
Some residents consider them charming.
Others consider them thieves.
The birds do not care which opinion is correct.
MARINE MAMMALS
Aquarion’s coastal waters contain many marine mammals.
Seals are commonly seen near rocky shorelines.
Sea lions occasionally appear around harbor structures.
Dolphins can be observed farther offshore.
Several species of whales migrate through the region.
The city’s marine monitoring program tracks whale activity and temporarily closes certain waterways when necessary.
Vaquitas are extremely rare.
Kara Kuru is considered a particularly important ambassador for vaquita conservation.
SEA TURTLES
Sea turtles occasionally visit the warmer coastal waters around Aquarion.
Certain beaches are monitored during nesting seasons.
When turtles are present, sections of the beach may be closed to visitors.
Aquarion residents generally treat turtle sightings as major events.
Someone will inevitably yell:
“TURTLE!”
Approximately thirty people will immediately run in the same direction.
OTTERS
River and sea otters are common around the city’s waterways.
They are intelligent, playful, and extremely good at finding places they probably shouldn’t be.
Otters occasionally enter canals.
Aquarion has several dedicated wildlife teams responsible for safely guiding them back toward appropriate habitats.
Residents are strongly discouraged from feeding them.
This rule exists because otters learned very quickly that humans carry snacks.
DEER
Forested areas around Aquarion contain several deer species.
They sometimes wander into suburban neighborhoods.
Residents are advised not to approach them.
Deer generally ignore humans unless someone is blocking their path.
Garden owners have complicated feelings about deer.
FOXES
Foxes live throughout the outer forests.
They are generally shy and avoid crowded areas.
Some have become accustomed to seeing humans near hiking trails.
They occasionally appear at the edge of neighborhoods at night.
Aquarion residents have a tendency to photograph them.
The foxes have no idea why.
AQUATIC WILDLIFE
Aquarion’s rivers and lakes contain many species of fish, amphibians, insects, and aquatic plants.
Local waterways are monitored regularly.
Fishing is allowed in designated areas but is restricted in protected habitats.
The city maintains several artificial spawning habitats to help support fish populations.
Some streams have been restored after decades of development.
The restoration projects are considered among Aquarion’s greatest environmental successes.
WILDLIFE RESCUE
The Aquarion Wildlife Response Center operates throughout the outer region.
The organization responds to injured animals, stranded marine mammals, trapped wildlife, and environmental emergencies.
Its staff includes veterinarians, biologists, rescue specialists, and rehabilitation workers.
The center also works closely with the Akaruku Seiketsu Aquarium.
Animals that require long-term rehabilitation may temporarily stay at specialized facilities.
Whenever possible, rehabilitated animals are returned to the wild.
IMPORTANT WILDLIFE PROFESSIONAL
DR. NAMI MORI
Role: Wildlife Veterinarian Pronouns: She/Her
Dr. Nami Mori works with the Aquarion Wildlife Response Center.
She specializes in coastal and aquatic wildlife.
Nami is patient, observant, and extremely protective of animals.
She is also notorious for having absolutely no sense of personal space around wildlife.
If a rescued seal decides to sleep against her while she is working, she will simply continue working.
She claims this is professional behavior.
Her coworkers disagree.
WILDLIFE ETIQUETTE
Aquarion has several rules for interacting with wildlife.
Do not feed wild animals.
Do not chase them.
Do not touch them unless specifically instructed by trained professionals.
Do not remove animals from their habitats.
Do not collect protected shells, eggs, plants, or other natural materials.
Keep dogs and other pets under control near wildlife habitats.
Keep a safe distance from large animals.
And most importantly:
Let wildlife remain wild.
Aquarion believes observing an animal is a privilege, not ownership.
THE WILDERNESS AT NIGHT
The outer region becomes dramatically different after sunset.
The city lights become distant.
Forests become dark.
The ocean becomes almost completely black.
Frogs and insects become louder.
Nocturnal birds begin calling.
Small animals move through the undergrowth.
The coastline is illuminated only by moonlight and distant city glow.
Some beaches contain patches of bioluminescent marine organisms.
When the water moves, tiny points of blue-green light appear along the shore.
Residents call this phenomenon “living stars.”
The city prohibits artificial lighting in certain areas to preserve the effect.
THE BORDER BETWEEN CITY AND WILDERNESS
Aquarion’s outer boundary is not always obvious.
In some places, a neighborhood simply ends and a forest begins.
A bicycle path may continue from a city park into a wilderness trail.
A stream may pass beneath a road and continue into a protected wetland.
A ferry route may leave the harbor and eventually reach open ocean.
This gradual transition is intentional.
Aquarion’s planners wanted residents to feel that nature was always nearby.
The wilderness is not considered something distant or inaccessible.
It is part of the city region’s identity.
GENERAL ATMOSPHERE
Outside Aquarion City, everything becomes less controlled.
There are no perfectly trimmed gardens.
No synchronized fountains.
No glowing advertisements.
No spotless glass walkways.
The wilderness is messy.
Trees grow wherever they want.
Rivers change course.
Animals appear unexpectedly.
Storms reshape beaches.
Plants grow through fallen logs.
And that is exactly why Aquarion protects it.
The city may represent humanity’s vision of the future.
The wilderness represents everything that was already here.
Aquarion believes both deserve a place.

AQUARION CITY
Entry 09 — The Subsections of Aquarion
Aquarion City is not visually uniform.
Although the city is famous for its overall Frutiger Aero identity, different districts and recreational zones were designed around different visual styles and architectural philosophies.
These areas are collectively known as Aquarion’s Subsections.
A subsection is not necessarily a separate municipality or neighborhood.
Instead, it is a distinct environment within the greater Aquarion region, designed around a particular aesthetic, purpose, or atmosphere.
Some are residential.
Some are recreational.
Some are ecological.
Some exist primarily because Aquarion’s architects apparently asked:
“What if we made this REALLY cool?”
The most famous subsections are the following.
⸻
VECTOR FLORISH GARDENS
The Vector Florish Gardens are a massive botanical and recreational district dedicated to flowers, plants, landscaping, and abstract visual design.
The gardens combine natural environments with smooth geometric architecture.
Curved paths wind through enormous flower beds.
Bright green lawns surround reflective pools.
Glass structures resemble leaves.
Metal sculptures twist into elaborate geometric shapes.
The gardens contain countless species of flowers and plants.
However, the most recognizable feature is the Vector Flora sculptures.
These enormous installations resemble stylized flowers made from translucent glass and polished materials.
During the day, they reflect sunlight.
At night, they become softly illuminated.
Some are designed to move slowly with the wind.
Others contain fountains.
The gardens also contain several large ponds inhabited by fish, frogs, ducks, and aquatic plants.
THE FLOURISH WALK
The central path through the gardens is known as the Flourish Walk.
It is lined with trees and enormous abstract flower sculptures.
Interactive displays along the path provide information about local plants.
Children frequently use the path as a shortcut.
Adults frequently use it as a peaceful walking route.
Artists frequently use it as inspiration.
Everyone takes photographs there.
⸻
HELVECTIVA AQUA BEACHES
The Helvectiva Aqua Beaches are Aquarion’s most visually distinctive beaches.
Unlike the more natural beaches outside the city, these beaches are heavily designed.
The architecture uses smooth white structures, cyan glass, curved walkways, geometric umbrellas, and enormous open plazas.
The sand is bordered by bright blue water.
Palm trees are planted throughout the recreational areas.
Large white structures provide shade.
Transparent walkways extend over sections of the water.
The beaches are designed to feel like a futuristic vacation resort.
AQUA PROMENADE
The main beachfront walkway is called the Aqua Promenade.
It contains cafés, restaurants, changing facilities, shops, public showers, observation decks, and recreational areas.
The promenade is especially lively during sunset.
The buildings reflect the orange and pink sky across their glass surfaces.
At night, the promenade becomes illuminated by soft blue lights.
WATER ACTIVITIES
The beaches offer swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing, and other recreational activities.
Certain sections are reserved for wildlife protection.
The city carefully balances recreation with environmental preservation.
The Helvectiva beaches may look artificial.
The ocean itself is not.
⸻
FRUTIGER METRO AREA
The Frutiger Metro Area is perhaps the strangest subsection in Aquarion.
Despite its name, it has absolutely nothing to do with trains.
The name refers to its distinctive visual style.
The area is inspired by the darker, more energetic side of early digital futurism.
Deep blues and purples dominate the environment.
Large glowing circles appear on walls.
Stars and geometric shapes decorate buildings.
Glossy surfaces reflect neon lighting.
Transparent structures overlap with dark architectural backgrounds.
Digital displays use abstract patterns.
Some buildings contain enormous glowing spheres suspended over public plazas.
The area feels like stepping inside an early-2000s computer interface that somehow became a real city district.
THE JUKEBOX STRUCTURES
The Frutiger Metro Area is famous for its enormous Jukebox Structures.
Nobody agrees on what they are actually supposed to be.
They resemble gigantic futuristic jukeboxes mixed with public information terminals.
Some play music.
Some display advertisements.
Some provide directions.
Some are simply decorative.
Several have been standing in the district for decades.
Residents consider them iconic.
METRO NIGHT
The area becomes especially impressive at night.
Stars appear across building facades.
Circular lights pulse softly.
Water features glow beneath bridges.
Digital advertisements become more colorful.
The entire district takes on a deep blue-purple atmosphere.
It is one of the few areas of Aquarion that feels intentionally urban and energetic rather than bright and peaceful.
Teenagers, musicians, artists, gamers, and night-shift workers are particularly fond of the area.
⸻
DORFIC PARKS
The Dorfic Parks are enormous recreational parks designed around flowing shapes and organic architecture.
The name comes from the parks’ distinctive architectural style.
Buildings, playgrounds, bridges, benches, and fountains all use smooth, rounded forms.
There are almost no sharp corners.
The parks contain large grassy fields, ponds, playgrounds, sports areas, picnic zones, walking paths, gardens, and outdoor art installations.
DORFIC PLAYGROUNDS
The playgrounds are particularly famous.
Instead of ordinary metal structures, they use colorful sculptural forms.
Slides emerge from giant rounded towers.
Climbing structures resemble bubbles.
Tunnels resemble shells.
Water playgrounds contain shallow streams and interactive fountains.
The playgrounds are designed to encourage imaginative play.
There are no prescribed ways to use most of the structures.
A climbing sculpture might be a spaceship to one child and a submarine to another.
Aquarion considers this a success.
⸻
TECHNOZEN HOME STORES
The Technozen Home Stores are a collection of enormous home-design and technology centers.
They combine home improvement, interior design, smart technology, furniture, appliances, gardening, and experimental household systems.
The name comes from their philosophy:
Technology should make life calmer, not more complicated.
The stores are organized like miniature homes.
Visitors can walk through fully furnished model apartments and houses.
One room might demonstrate a smart kitchen.
Another might demonstrate an automated garden.
Another might contain futuristic lighting.
Another might be an entire tropical-themed bedroom.
The stores are filled with sleek appliances, curved furniture, glass decorations, indoor gardens, water features, and smart-home technology.
THE HOME LAB
Large Technozen locations contain a Home Lab.
Visitors can experiment with prototype household technologies.
Some are practical.
Some are bizarre.
Some are extremely specific.
One famous prototype is a refrigerator that automatically suggests recipes based on its contents.
Another is a window that changes its tint depending on sunlight.
Another is a bathtub that can simulate different natural environments through lighting and sound.
Nobody knows why the bathtub can simulate a thunderstorm.
It can.
⸻
FRUTIGER ECO CONSERVATORIES
The Frutiger Eco Conservatories combine ecological preservation with futuristic architecture.
These enormous greenhouse complexes contain plants from different climates and ecosystems.
The conservatories are built from transparent glass and white structural supports.
Water flows through artificial streams.
Mist systems create humid environments.
Large tropical plants grow beneath enormous glass ceilings.
The architecture is highly geometric, but the interiors are intentionally wild.
ECO DOMES
The largest conservatories contain enormous Eco Domes.
Each dome represents a different ecosystem.
One may contain tropical rainforest.
Another may recreate a temperate forest.
Another may contain desert plants.
Another may contain wetlands.
Visitors can move between environments through climate-controlled corridors.
Educational displays explain the ecosystems and conservation projects associated with them.
CONSERVATION WORK
The conservatories also function as research and plant conservation facilities.
Rare plants can be cultivated here.
Damaged ecosystems can be studied.
Seeds can be preserved.
Students and scientists frequently visit the facilities.
The public-facing sections are designed to feel like botanical attractions.
The restricted sections are considerably more scientific.
⸻
FRUTIGER AURORA TUNDRAS
The Frutiger Aurora Tundras are one of Aquarion’s most unusual subsections.
Located in the colder northern portion of the region, the tundras recreate a cold-climate environment while incorporating Aquarion’s futuristic architecture.
The landscape contains snowy fields, frozen ponds, low vegetation, rocky hills, and enormous glass observation structures.
During the winter, the area becomes covered in snow.
At night, the sky can sometimes display the aurora.
The city’s artificial lighting is heavily restricted in this area so visitors can see it clearly.
AURORA DOMES
Large transparent domes provide shelter for visitors.
Inside, there are heated observation areas, cafés, educational displays, and viewing platforms.
The domes are designed to resemble enormous bubbles resting on the snow.
At night, they glow softly.
From a distance, they look like futuristic settlements on another planet.
TUNDRA WILDLIFE
The Frutiger Aurora Tundras are home to cold-adapted wildlife.
Depending on the specific protected zone, visitors may encounter arctic birds, foxes, deer, small mammals, and other northern species.
Certain areas are completely closed to the public during sensitive seasons.
The tundras are also used for climate and environmental research.
⸻
THE SUBSECTION CONNECTION
Although the subsections have dramatically different appearances, they are all connected through Aquarion’s transportation and pedestrian networks.
A person can spend the morning walking through the bright greenery of the Vector Florish Gardens.
By afternoon, they can be swimming at the Helvectiva Aqua Beaches.
At night, they can visit the glowing Frutiger Metro Area.
The next day, they might explore the Frutiger Eco Conservatories.
The city deliberately encourages residents to experience different environments rather than keeping each aesthetic isolated.
This makes Aquarion feel less like one city and more like a collection of different worlds connected together.
⸻
IMPORTANT SUBSECTION STAFF
ELIANA VERDE
Role: Director of Aquarion Botanical Development Pronouns: She/Her
Eliana oversees the Vector Florish Gardens and several of Aquarion’s botanical projects.

He monitors wildlife, maintains trails, and helps visitors safely navigate the region.
He loves the cold.
He claims summer is “nature’s way of making everyone uncomfortable.”
⸻
GENERAL ATMOSPHERE
The subsections demonstrate one of Aquarion’s strangest qualities:
It refuses to choose just one aesthetic.
One part of the city can feel like a tropical paradise.
Another can resemble a futuristic computer interface.
Another can look like a giant botanical garden.
Another can feel like a snowy alien world.
Yet they all share the same underlying philosophy.
Nature and technology are allowed to coexist.
Different visual styles are allowed to coexist.
People are allowed to find the environments that make them happiest.
Aquarion does not believe a city needs to look the same everywhere.
It believes a city should have room for many different kinds of beauty.

Overview
Welcome to Iris City!
“You’re safe… until dawn.”
The colorful streets of Iris City welcome everyone with open arms. The neighborhoods are clean, the people are friendly, and every smile feels genuine.
Just remember one thing.
Be inside before 6:00 PM.
Nobody explains why.
Nobody questions the curfew.
Those who ignore it are rarely seen again, and if they are… they usually aren’t the same.
⸻
About Iris City
Iris City is an isolated Weirdcore town where reality doesn’t always behave correctly. Streets rearrange themselves overnight, buildings seem larger on the inside, and impossible creatures are considered ordinary neighbors.
The citizens have learned to live alongside these abnormalities. To them, floating eyes, living toys, or talking objects are simply part of everyday life.
Visitors often struggle to understand the city’s strange rules, while lifelong residents barely notice anything unusual.
⸻
Rules
Although unwritten, every resident knows these rules.
- Be inside before 6:00 PM.
- Do not enter the Valley.
- Never question the city’s history.
- If someone knows your full name despite never meeting you, be polite.

Happiness Homes
Aliases: HH, The Hotel
Happiness Homes is a cheerful hotel located in Iris City and serves as one of the safest places to stay before nightfall. Its bright colors, friendly staff, and cozy atmosphere make it popular among both visitors and residents. Although the hotel appears ordinary, it exists unusually close to the Meadow, causing reality to behave strangely within its walls.
Rooms occasionally change overnight, secret rooms may appear without warning, and hallways do not always lead to the same destination twice. Despite these oddities, the staff remain calm and treat such events as normal parts of hotel life.
The hotel follows strict safety rules. Guests are expected to remain inside after the café closes, avoid restricted areas, and immediately report any cracks forming in the walls. These cracks are believed to weaken the boundary between the hotel and the strange world beyond, allowing hostile creatures to enter.
Every guest receives a room key and a hand-drawn map of the Meadow from the receptionist, Kansi. The map is meant to guide guests should they enter the Meadow while sleeping. If a guest becomes lost or disappears, their room key mysteriously returns to the reception desk.
Facilities
Reception The hotel’s entrance and check-in area. Kansi greets arriving guests, distributes room keys, and provides every visitor with a map of the Meadow.
Guest Rooms Each themed room has its own decorations and personality. Examples include the vanity-inspired Ugly Duckling Room and the adventurous Pirate Room. Secret guest rooms occasionally manifest without explanation and may disappear just as suddenly.
Movie Room A communal sleeping area containing five beds and four couches for guests without private rooms. H0SHI carefully assigns sleeping arrangements each evening. Once night arrives, guests without rooms are expected to remain here until morning.
Café Managed by R3D1O with assistance from H0SHI and 1NKS. The café serves meals throughout the day before closing in the evening. Guests should return to their rooms once it closes. Recently, an unknown black liquid contaminated the kitchen’s meat supply, forcing all meat dishes to be removed from the menu.
Playground A recently constructed play area intended for children. Certain sections have been marked as “No Play Zones” after strange paw prints and black liquid began appearing there. Wobbles, also known as the Rot Dog, was first discovered in this area. The ball pit has become unsafe due to an unexplained black substance filling portions of it.
Nurse’s Office Operated by Dr. Alia. The office provides treatment for minor injuries and illnesses using both traditional medicine and enchanted healing water. Visitors often describe the office as one of the calmest places in the hotel.
Employee Quarters Private rooms belonging to the hotel staff. Solem’s room has foam puzzle flooring and houses her unusual pets, Lizzy the eye lizard and Wobbles. Kansi’s room is completely empty, reflecting his lack of need for sleep or food. Other employee rooms reflect their occupants’ personalities.
Connection to the Meadow
Happiness Homes shares a mysterious connection with the Meadow. While sleeping within the hotel, guests may enter this dreamlike realm. Although beautiful in places, the Meadow contains both harmless and dangerous creatures. Staff members familiar with the Meadow help guests navigate its unusual geography, and maps are provided for this purpose.
General Atmosphere
Although unsettling events occur regularly, Happiness Homes is not considered a place of horror by its residents. Employees continue their work with warmth and professionalism, treating reality distortions as routine inconveniences. Visitors often find comfort in the hotel’s kindness, even as they slowly realize nothing about it behaves the way it should.
Happiness Homes Employees
Happiness Homes is operated by a group of unusual but dedicated employees who help guests, maintain the hotel, and handle the strange events that occur within the building.
Each employee has their own personality, responsibilities, and relationship with the hotel.
⸻
Solem (she/her)
Role: Hotel Manager

Responsibilities:
- Welcoming guests.
- Providing room information.
- Giving visitors maps to the mysterious meadow.
Room:
- Empty.

⸻
Iris (she/her)

- Sibling of H0SHI.
⸻
Dr. Alia (she/her)
Role: Hotel Nurse
Dr. Alia provides medical assistance to guests.
She is calm, kind, and has a gentle personality.
Her office contains magical water that can help with minor problems such as dry skin and sore throats.
Additional Notes:
- Specializes in first aid.
- Believes magic should be balanced with normal care and safety.
⸻
The Gardener (they/them/he/him)
Role: Meadow Caretaker
The Gardener maintains the meadow and helps repair damage around Happiness Homes.
They are quiet and mysterious but appear to protect others in their own way.
Abilities:
- Repairs cracks in walls.
- Prevents hostile creatures from approaching when nearby.
Additional Notes:
- Creatures tend to avoid areas where the Gardener is present.
⸻
Wobbles (He/him/it/its)
Species: Rot dog
Residence: Happiness Homes
Current Caretaker: Solem
⸻
Appearance
Wobbles is a medium-sized quadrupedal creature with a rounded, lumpy body resembling a large blob supported by four short legs.
His body appears completely black—so black that it resembles a hole in reality rather than fur. In certain lighting, his body may appear as a very dark navy blue due to the way light reflects off his surface.
Rather than having a traditional face, Wobbles is covered in dozens of white eyes of various sizes. The eyes blink independently, often looking in completely different directions at once.
Despite this unsettling appearance, the eyes rarely stare aggressively. Most simply wander around curiously, watching the world from every angle.
No one has ever successfully counted how many eyes Wobbles has.
Different witnesses report different numbers.
Some insist the number changes.
⸻
Personality
Despite his appearance, Wobbles is surprisingly gentle.
He is naturally curious and enjoys quietly following people he trusts.
He does not understand personal space very well and may slowly wander beside someone simply because they seem interesting.
Wobbles is:
- Curious
- Quiet
- Patient
- Surprisingly affectionate
- Easily distracted
- Difficult to startle
He rarely makes loud noises.
Instead, he communicates through soft chirps, low rumbles, gentle squeaks, and the occasional wobbling movement that earned him his name.
⸻
Behavior
Wobbles spends most of his time wandering around Happiness Homes.
He often:
- Sleeps in sunny spots.
- Watches guests from around corners.
- Follows Solem during her work.
- Quietly observes conversations.
- Curiously sniffs unfamiliar objects.
Although covered in eyes, Wobbles rarely makes direct eye contact.
Instead, each eye seems interested in something different.
One might watch a butterfly while another watches someone reading a book.
⸻
Diet
Nobody knows exactly what Wobbles eats.
Food placed in front of him sometimes disappears.
Other times he ignores perfectly good meals for days before suddenly eating an entire basket of mushrooms.
Dr. Alia has confirmed that Wobbles appears perfectly healthy regardless.
⸻
Origin
Very little is known about Wobbles’ origins.
Solem discovered him during one of her explorations of an unusual area connected to Happiness Homes.
Rather than running away, the strange creature simply looked up at her with dozens of curious eyes.
Solem immediately declared:
“I’m naming him Wobbles.”
The name stuck.
No one knows what Wobbles truly is.
Even The Gardener only describes him as…
“An old friend of strange places.”
⸻
Abilities
Wobbles possesses several unusual traits.
- Can notice things other creatures overlook.
- Rarely becomes lost, even inside shifting environments.
- Seems able to sense changes in nearby reality.
- Occasionally stares at locations before something unusual happens.
Despite these abilities, Wobbles does not appear to understand why he notices these things.
He simply reacts naturally.
⸻
Relationship with Guests
Most guests are nervous when first meeting Wobbles.
Within a few hours, however, many realize he is more like an unusually-shaped pet than a monster.
Children tend to love him.
Adults remain… cautiously affectionate.
⸻
Fun Facts
- Nobody knows where his real eyes are… if he even has “real” ones.
- His body is unbelievably soft, almost like a giant beanbag chair.
- He occasionally falls asleep standing up.
- Every now and then, every eye blinks at exactly the same time.
- That usually makes everyone in the room uncomfortable except Wobbles.

- Personal workshops.
As long as the building is safe, nearly any design is acceptable.
A house reflects its owner’s personality.
⸻
Home Rules
The city encourages creativity while maintaining public safety.
Residents should:
- Keep pathways accessible.
- Respect neighbors.
- Avoid creating dangerous structures.
- Care for unusual pets responsibly.
There are no Homeowners Associations in Weirdcore.
Attempts to create one are viewed as restricting personal expression and community creativity.
Residents jokingly claim that trying to start an HOA is “the fastest way to make an entire neighborhood dislike you.”
⸻
The Neighborhood Feeling
Despite the unusual appearance of many homes, the residential districts feel comforting.
Children play outside.
Neighbors chat over fences.
People borrow ingredients from one another.
Community events are common.
It is an ordinary neighborhood…
Just one where the house across the street might have mushrooms growing on the chimney, a rooftop observatory, and a mailbox that politely waves good morning.

LikeEyes Hospital is the largest medical facility in Iris City. Standing seven stories tall with an underground laboratory, it treats everything from broken bones and common illnesses to strange conditions caused by Iris City’s unstable reality.
Although the hospital’s employees often have unusual appearances, they are known for their professionalism, compassion, and dedication to helping others. Residents trust LikeEyes Hospital completely, making it one of the city’s most respected buildings.
The hospital is open day and night, though certain floors become restricted after sunset.
⸻
General Information
LikeEyes Hospital specializes in both conventional medicine and “reality-related” illnesses. Patients suffering from memory distortion, dream contamination, reality sickness, or injuries caused by anomalous creatures are all treated here.
The building contains seven floors above ground and one basement laboratory. While most of the hospital is accessible to the public, several research areas require special authorization.
Unlike many places in Iris City, the hospital is heavily reinforced against reality distortions. Strange events still occur, but they are usually contained before affecting patients.
⸻
Floors
Floor One – Reception & Emergency Care
The hospital’s main entrance.
Contains reception, the emergency room, waiting areas, and ambulance access. Most visitors first meet Mr. Pill here before being directed to the appropriate department.
⸻
Floor Two – General Medicine
Treats everyday illnesses and injuries.
Routine checkups, surgeries, and recovery rooms are located here.
⸻
Floor Three – Pediatrics
Dedicated entirely to children.
The pediatric wing features colorful walls, interactive toys, books, murals, and a large indoor play area to help young patients feel comfortable. Staff members often organize games and activities during long recoveries.
Miss Worm frequently visits this floor to spend time with younger patients.
⸻
Floor Four – Long-Term Recovery
Patients recovering from major illnesses or injuries stay here.
The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful, with large windows overlooking Nurse HAL’s garden.
⸻
Floor Five – Research & Observation
Doctors study unusual illnesses, harmless anomalies, and unexplained medical conditions found throughout Iris City.
Only authorized personnel may enter.
⸻
Floor Six – Staff Facilities
Employee lounges, meeting rooms, offices, and training areas.

⸻
Floor Seven – Rooftop Garden Access
The highest public floor provides access to Nurse HAL’s rooftop healing garden.
Patients are encouraged to visit while recovering, as the peaceful environment has been shown to improve emotional well-being.
⸻
Basement Laboratory
A highly restricted research laboratory beneath the hospital.
Scientists study reality distortions, unusual organisms, mysterious substances, and other anomalies discovered throughout Iris City.
The laboratory’s existence is public knowledge, but very little is known about the experiments taking place inside.
Only senior hospital staff and approved researchers may enter.
⸻
Nurse HAL’s Garden
Maintained entirely by Nurse HAL, the hospital garden is one of Iris City’s calmest locations.
Filled with flowers, herbs, small trees, and benches, the garden provides a peaceful escape for patients, visitors, and employees alike. Many medicinal plants used throughout the hospital are grown here.
Despite Nurse HAL’s incredible physical strength and intimidating appearance, the gentle care she gives every plant reflects her kindhearted personality.
Some patients claim the garden feels strangely quieter than the rest of Iris City.
⸻
Notable Staff
Nurse HAL An incredibly strong nurse with a giant eye for a head. Despite her appearance, she is gentle, patient, and beloved by both children and adults. She personally maintains the hospital garden.
Mr. Pill The hospital’s manager. Efficient, organized, and committed to keeping LikeEyes running smoothly.
Mr. ZUZU A speedy nurse whose glowing spiral markings help reassure anxious patients. And blind entities at night as he says.
Mrs. Candi The hospital’s cheerful lunch lady, recognized by her strawberry-doughnut-shaped head and comforting homemade meals.
Miss Worm A patient and caring childcare worker who spends much of her time helping children throughout the hospital.
⸻

Angel Eye Station
Aliases: Angel Eye, The Station
Type: Subway / Long-distance transit station
Angel Eye Station is Iris City’s primary transportation hub, connecting the city to distant locations and other unusual regions beyond its borders.
Although it is technically a subway station, the length of many routes makes the experience feel closer to air travel than a traditional train ride. Some journeys take over an hour, and passengers are advised to prepare for long trips.
The station is considered one of the most important buildings in Iris City, allowing residents, visitors, and employees to travel safely between locations.
⸻
Appearance
Angel Eye Station has a clean, modern design mixed with strange dreamlike elements.
Large glowing signs guide passengers through the station, though some signs occasionally display destinations that do not appear on official maps.
The station gets its name from its eye-like symbols found throughout the building.
Nobody knows who designed the original station or why the eye imagery is so common.
⸻
Trains
Angel Eye trains are unlike ordinary subway trains.
They are designed for extremely long-distance travel, featuring comfortable seating, large windows, and areas for passengers to relax during extended trips.

Passengers are advised not to leave the train during unexpected stops.

The Valley
Aliases: The Restricted Valley, The Valley
Status: Restricted Area — Entry Strictly Forbidden
The Valley is a massive restricted zone located on the outskirts of Iris City. It is considered the single most dangerous location within the city’s borders and has been permanently closed to the public for reasons that most residents refuse to discuss.
From a distance, the Valley appears peaceful. Rolling hills, wildflowers, scattered trees, and gentle winds make it seem almost inviting.
Those who enter quickly discover that appearances cannot be trusted.
⸻
General Information
The Valley is where Iris City’s reality is at its weakest.
Distances constantly change, landmarks disappear without warning, and time itself becomes unreliable. Travelers often report walking for only a few minutes before realizing hours have passed—or the opposite.
Maps become inaccurate shortly after entering.
Compasses spin aimlessly.
Even memories of the Valley begin changing while inside it.
Because of these effects, the city has declared the entire region permanently off-limits.
⸻
Environment
Although beautiful, the Valley feels unnaturally quiet.
Birds rarely sing.
Wind carries distant voices that never repeat the same words twice.
Flowers sometimes bloom overnight before vanishing by morning.
Trees occasionally appear to change locations when no one is watching.
At night, lights can sometimes be seen moving across the hills.
No official explanation exists for what they are.
⸻
Reality Distortion
Reality behaves far more aggressively inside the Valley than anywhere else in Iris City.
Common phenomena include:
- Endless walking loops.
- Impossible geometry.
- Shifting hills.
- Objects appearing where they should not exist.
- People remembering different versions of the same event.
- Voices calling travelers by name.
- Buildings that disappear when approached.
- Paths leading back to places that no longer exist.
Even experienced researchers avoid remaining in the Valley longer than necessary.
⸻
Creatures
Many unusual creatures have been reported inside the Valley.
Some appear harmless.
Others observe travelers from a distance without interacting.
Very few are openly hostile.
The greatest danger is not the creatures…
It is becoming lost.
⸻
Research
LikeEyes Hospital occasionally sends carefully selected research teams into the Valley to study reality distortions and recover unusual materials.
These expeditions are rare, carefully planned, and heavily monitored.
Many discoveries made within the Valley have helped scientists better understand Iris City’s anomalies.
Even so, no expedition has successfully mapped the entire region.
⸻
Public Warning
Signs surrounding the Valley display the same message:
“Restricted Area. For Your Safety, Do Not Enter.”
Most residents obey without question.
Those who ask why usually receive the same answer.
“Because that’s where the city starts forgetting itself.”
⸻
Reputation
The Valley is not considered evil.
It is simply… broken.
Whether it was always this way or became damaged long ago is unknown.
Mayor Borealis refuses to discuss its history, and official city records contain almost no information about it.
Even Nimbus, who seems to know far more than she admits, grows unusually quiet whenever the Valley is mentioned.

The Meadow
Aliases: The Dream Meadow, The Sleeping World
Access: Entered through sleep and dreams
The Meadow is a mysterious realm connected to Iris City that can only be reached while sleeping. Guests of Happiness Homes are given maps to the Meadow by Kansi, allowing them to navigate the strange landscape more safely.
Although it appears to be a peaceful dream world at first, the Meadow is divided into different regions. Some areas are bright and welcoming, while others are dangerous places filled with hostile entities and unstable reality.
The Meadow is not simply a dream.
It is a real place that exists beyond normal understanding.
⸻
General Information
The Meadow is a constantly changing environment filled with strange creatures, unusual landscapes, and impossible locations.
Every visitor experiences the Meadow differently. Some find familiar places from their memories, while others discover locations they have never seen before.
Paths can change, landmarks can disappear, and new areas can appear overnight. Because of this, maps are useful but never completely reliable.
⸻
The Light Meadow
Status: Safe Zone
The Light Meadow is one of the safest regions within the Meadow.
Discovered by Solem, this area is filled with bright scenery, peaceful creatures, colorful plants, butterflies, moths, and unusual mushroom-like cows.
The atmosphere is calm and comforting, making it a popular resting place for visitors who become lost while exploring. Many residents describe the Light Meadow as feeling like a happy memory they cannot fully remember.
⸻
The Dark Meadow
Status: Dangerous Area
Beyond the peaceful regions of the Meadow lies a much more unsettling area covered in thick yellow-green fog.
Unlike the Light Meadow, this region is dark, quiet, and difficult to navigate. The fog limits visibility and creates the feeling that something is always nearby.
Many hostile entities reside here.
Travelers are advised not to enter this area unless absolutely necessary.
⸻
The Fog
The yellow-green fog covering the Dark Meadow behaves strangely. It does not move like normal mist. It can gather around certain locations, hide paths, and make familiar areas appear unfamiliar.
Some visitors report hearing sounds within the fog, including footsteps, whispers, and voices they recognize.
Whether these sounds are real or caused by the Meadow itself remains unknown.
⸻
Creatures
The Meadow contains countless creatures. Some are harmless and curious, while others are dangerous and territorial.
Not every strange creature is hostile, but visitors are advised not to approach unknown beings without guidance. Some entities appear to be native to the Meadow, the rest seem to be connected to Iris City.
⸻
The Gardener
Role: Caretaker of the Meadow
The Gardener is a mysterious employee connected to Happiness Homes who maintains the Meadow and helps preserve its stability.
Quiet and difficult to understand, the Gardener spends most of their time tending to the landscape, repairing damaged areas, and keeping the balance between safe and dangerous regions.
The Gardener possesses a unique ability to repair cracks appearing throughout reality. When these cracks are left untreated, hostile creatures are able to enter areas they normally cannot reach.
When the Gardener is nearby, many creatures avoid the area. Nobody knows exactly how long the Gardener has been working in the Meadow or how they gained their abilities.
⸻
The Gardener’s Importance
Although the Gardener rarely speaks, their work is essential.
Without their repairs, the Meadow would become increasingly unstable, and the boundary between the dream world and Iris City could weaken.
Many employees at Happiness Homes consider the Gardener one of the most important members of the staff, even if most guests never meet them.
⸻
Meadow Rules
- Never enter unfamiliar areas alone.
- Stay close to marked paths.
- Do not follow voices coming from the fog.
- If the landscape changes, return to a familiar location.
- Respect the creatures of the Meadow.
- If you see the Gardener, allow them to work.
- If the fog reaches a safe area, leave immediately.
⸻
Reputation
The Meadow is neither completely safe nor completely dangerous.
It is a world of contrasts.
A place where beautiful fields can exist beside terrifying forests. A place where friendly creatures live alongside monsters. A place where dreams can become real.
Creatures of the Dreaming Meadow
The Dreaming Meadow is a vast realm accessed through dreams and sleep. While parts of it appear peaceful and beautiful, the landscape follows strange rules that do not always match ordinary reality.
The meadow contains many entities known as Meadow Creatures. Some are harmless, some dangerous, and some simply exist according to their own mysterious purposes.
Visitors are advised to remain cautious, follow marked paths, and avoid assuming that something friendly is automatically safe. The ones labeled bellow live in the dark meadow.

⸻
- The Rooted

Behavior: The Rooted resemble trees when still, making them difficult to notice.
They are territorial creatures connected to the meadow itself.
They usually react when:
- Someone leaves the path.
- Someone damages the environment.

They slowly follow intruders, attempting to “return” them to the meadow.
Meadow Rule: The path exists for a reason.
Weakness/Response: Remaining on marked paths prevents them from approaching.
⸻
- Meadow Fawns
Appearance: Small deer-like creatures with pale glowing fur and porcelain-like cracked faces.
Behavior: Meadow Fawns are one of the most commonly encountered creatures.
They appear curious and harmless, often watching travelers from a distance.
However, their existence is unstable.

- Crack apart.
- Release a loud sound.
- Attract nearby entities.
Some researchers believe the fawns are not creatures but fragments of forgotten dreams.
Meadow Rule: Not everything fragile wants to be held.
Response: Observe them, but avoid physical contact.
⸻
- The Watcher
Appearance: A massive bird-like entity with four long legs and one glowing eye within its body.
It has no visible wings but moves through the air effortlessly.
Behavior: The Watcher observes the meadow.
Unlike many entities, it does not immediately attack travelers.
It appears when:
- The meadow is disturbed.
- Other creatures call for it.
- Someone breaks important rules.
The Watcher seems more interested in observing behavior than hunting.
Meadow Rule: The Watcher notices panic.
Response: Remaining calm and still usually causes it to lose interest.
⸻

Behavior: Mimics attempt to convince travelers to leave the safe routes.
They may:
- Act friendly.

Response: Do not follow unknown copies away from the path.
⸻
- The Blooming Lady
Appearance: A towering figure covered in flowers and vines.
Her face is smooth and featureless, with a form resembling a living garden statue.
Behavior: The Blooming Lady is one of the meadow’s stranger inhabitants.
She often stands along paths, offering assistance to travelers.
Her intentions are unknown.
Some believe she protects lost visitors.
Others believe she simply “collects” those who accept her help.
Meadow Rule: Kindness and danger can look identical.
Response: Politely refusing her offers is considered the safest choice.
⸻
- The Forgotten
Appearance: Figures covered in moss, leaves, and old clothing.
Their forms resemble travelers who have become part of the meadow.
Behavior: The Forgotten are believed to be former visitors who stayed too long.
They wander while repeating memories, names, and conversations.
Some appear afraid. Some appear lonely. Some appear unable to remember what they are.
Meadow Rule: The meadow remembers those who are forgotten.
Response: Avoid following them away from safe areas.
