Scratch and Grounder

Scratch is shown to be a somewhat humanoid fowl-based Badnik, who's tall and lanky, his body consist of white feathers, arms that somewhat resemble bird wings, silver body armor, a black collar and belt, he has a red comb on the top of his head like roosters have as well as a red wattle, his tail consist of two red feathers, he has a yellow beak and two big feet that are also yellow.

Scratch's personality can be seen as pretty boastful and bash as well as arrogant like when he's always calling himself the leader of the Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad. He is also shown to assert his dominance over Grounder while claiming his superiority while thinking himself as Robotnik's "favorite" while mocking Grounder for his clumsiness and being dim witted. And whenever Scratch has a moment of perceived triumph or victory he always does a distinctive crowing cackle which goes like this "Bwaha-ha-ha!". Although because of his overconfidence and his arrogance it usually blinds him to any flaws that are in his schemes no matter how much theyre5elaborately designed, which leads to them constantly failing, whether this be because of his aforementioned oversight, poor execution, or because of Sonic's cunning. And Despite Scratch having Bravado he is still shown to be quiet cowardly and adverse to pain as shown when he's first introduced as he panicked about how painful the cloning process might be or like he hesitates to face Robotnik's wrath. This also shows that his loyalty to Robotnik seems to be fear-driven and might even be sycophantic as he's always shown trying to win Robotniks approval and will even exaggerate his contributions to plans or even deflecting the blame onto Grounder just so he can dodge punishments, and even though he's not always the brightest it's shown that he's still smarter than Grounder and can very often see through Sonic's disguises and plans (even if it's only after they had already been tricked) while Grounder never sees through them.

Scratch doesn't seem to have many specific abilities, although like a real rooster/chicken he's able to peck at his foes, he is also capable of extending and retracting his neck like a telescope and he can also retract his head and neck into his body to protect himself. When he is extracting his neck he can turn his left eye into a telescope. He also has the ability to turn his left middle finger and his pointer finger into sharp blade and use them as a pair of scissors. His right thumb can be used as a lighter.

Scratch is also shown to possess quite the impressive strength as he was shown being able to lift a massive brick wall, and he is also shown to be quite durable as whenever he gets beaten up whether by one of Robotnik's inventions or by Robotnik himself whenever he and Grounder fail him, Scratch's body is shown dented and on rare occasions broken into pieces but they're never destroyed completely. And on a few occasions Scratch was able of putting himself back together again.

Grounder and Scratch serve largely as the comic relief in the series. Though he and Scratch are in charge of capturing or defeating Sonic and his friend Tails, they are incompetent and almost always fail. These repeated failures frequently result in Grounder and Scratch receiving a lot of abuse (both verbal and physical) from Robotnik.

Grounder is a Badnik who is mole-based with tank tracks instead of feet. His body is teal colored, he also is small, short and stocky in size. He also has an antennae on the back of his head along with drills for his hands and nose. He has a license plate on his back that reads X-14. His belly has a compass bellybutton

Dr. Robotnik intended to make a clone of scratch, but because of Scratch pulling an extra lever on the Robo-Matic Machine during the process it ended up creating Grounder instead.

Grounder unlike Scratch is shown to be very dim-witted and clumsy as he is shown struggling to understand the most simple of instructions and also struggles to understand incapacitating critical equipment. He's also shown to have child-like enthusiasm and being naive as shown whenever he celebrates capturing Sonic or Tails, but of course this excitement can end up leading to very reckless actions like when he lost his grip on the Blammo all because he was admiring the way it glowed. He's also shown to be quite less assertive than Scratch is which is why he usually follows Scratch's lead, but he does still bicker with him and is shown competing for Robotnik's approval with the arguments occasionally leading to petty arguments and even physical scuffles in the process, although one area that Grounder succeeds in that Scratch doesn't is the gadget department as Grounder has many more built-in gadgets that he can use creatively, although they have been shown to sometimes be used haphazardly and end up being completely ineffective. Grounder is also shown to be eagerly and persistently devoted to Robotnik's cause, and this causes him to feel more sentimental whenever he might possibly lose Robotnik's favor like when he stranded them on an abandoned space station as Grounder worried about his and Scratch's pension plans.

While Scratch is the Brains between him and Grounder, Grounder is the Brawn/artillery as his body is shown to be filled with many different accessories with many of them being stored in his arms which are drills by default, although they can be refigured into any number of weapons he might need at any given moment. Like ropes, flashlights, ray guns, gas guns, glue guns, parachutes, fountain pen, long claw, chainsaw, fishing rod, boxing gloves an ahot tub complete with hot water. He's also shown storing his own items like his miniature dryer and his Robocom Phone inside of his torso. He also has helicopter blades inside of his head while his tongue is installed with the components of a Swiss Army Knife.

Grounder as mentioned earlier is stronger than Scratch and he's tasked with doing the heavy lifting when setting up traps or when it comes to assembling machinery. His tracks allow him to go up to considerable speeds and allows for Scratch to be carried on his shoulders in their attempts to catch Sonic with his treads being able to turn into Rocket engines that increases his speed, and despite his low intelligence Grounder is shown to be a very competent cook.

Grounder is also very durable like Scratch is as he only ever gets dented or broken into pieces and not completely destroyed whenever he gets damaged. Grounder has even shown being able to withstand great falls, being completely crushed and being blown up by explosions. And just like with Scratch he can sometimes put himself back together again, although he's also shown to be able to regenerate his head after he accidentally blew it off with a ray gun and was able to regenerate after he got cut into pieces.
