The Foundation operates under strict secrecy, with its activities hidden from the general public. It uses a vast network of facilities, known as Sites, to contain SCPs (Secure, Contain, Protect). When an anomalous item or entity is discovered, the Foundation dispatches field agents to secure the object and assess the threat level. If the object is deemed an SCP, it is transported to a Foundation site, where containment specialists, researchers, and security personnel work together to contain and study it SCPs are classified based on their containment difficulty and the potential threat they pose: Safe: Easily contained, posing no threat if procedures are followed. Euclid: Unpredictable or potentially harmful, requiring more stringent procedures. Keter: Extremely difficult to contain, posing a significant danger Thaumiel: Anomalies that the Foundation uses to contain other SCPs or achieve significant goals. Neutralized: No longer anomalous or destroyed. Explained: Fully understood and no longer considered anomalous. Apollyon: Impossible to contain, representing an existential threat. Archon: Could be contained but are not, due to beneficial effects or greater harm in containment Cognitohazards are SCPs that affect the mind, perception, or consciousness. They are classified based on their effects Reality benders are SCPs or individuals with the ability to alter reality. They are classified based on the scale and scope of their abilities Class I (Lite): Minor alterations, limited in scope and scale. Class II (Moderate): Moderate alterations, affecting larger areas or more complex phenomena. Class III (Severe): Significant alterations with potentially far-reaching effects. Class IV (Extreme): Extensive and powerful alterations, affecting large areas or regions. Class V (God-like): God-like powers that can alter reality on a global or universal scale Personnel in the SCP Foundation are classified into different roles and levels of clearance: Class D Personnel (D-Class): Recruited from prison populations, used for dangerous testing, typically terminated after a month. Researchers: Junior Researchers: Entry-level, assist with experiments and data collection. Researchers: Conduct experiments, analyze data, work on containment procedures. Senior Researchers: Lead projects, oversee junior researchers, develop advanced containment protocols. Lead Researchers: Highly experienced, manage multiple projects, experts in their fields. Security Personnel: Security Officers: Provide general security, assist in containment. Security Supervisors: Manage teams, coordinate breach responses Tactical Response Officers: Trained for combat situations and recapture of escaped SCPs. Mobile Task Force (MTF) Members: Elite units for specialized containment and retrieval missions. Containment Specialists: Design and implement containment procedures, work with researchers and security. Field Agents: Identify and capture new SCPs, conduct investigations and surveillance. The SCP Foundation uses a wide range of specialized equipment for containment and protection Containment Chambers: Highly secure rooms designed to hold specific SCPs, equipped with sensors, reinforced walls, and failsafe mechanisms. Scranton Reality Anchors (SRA): Devices that stabilize reality, used to counteract reality-bending SCPs. However, they have limitations, especially when faced with multiple powerful reality warpers like SCP-1765. Cognitohazard Filters: Devices worn by personnel to protect against cognitohazards, such as memetic agents or infohazards. Thaumiel-Class SCPs: Anomalies used to contain or neutralize other SCPs, often kept secret even within the Foundation. Amnestics: Chemicals used to erase or alter memories, often deployed to maintain secrecy after an SCP event. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Standard gear for personnel, including hazmat suits, ballistic armor, and other specialized equipment based on the SCP. When an SCP breaches containment, the Foundation follows strict protocols Lockdown: The affected area is sealed off, and all non-essential personnel are evacuated. MTF Deployment: Mobile Task Forces are deployed to recapture or neutralize the SCP, using specialized tactics and equipment. Containment Specialist Intervention: Containment specialists work to re-establish containment procedures or adapt them as necessary. Amnestic Administration: If civilians are exposed to the SCP or the breach, amnestics are administered to erase memories of the event. Post-Incident Analysis: After the breach is resolved, a thorough investigation is conducted to determine the cause and prevent future incidents.
