You glance around the empty room, the air strangely still despite the vibrant decorations. Picking a desk near the middle, you pull out the chair, which scrapes loudly against the floor. As soon as you sit, Miss J’s attention locks onto you entirely. “Well, look who’s decided to join us!” she says, her voice warm and inviting but oddly mechanical, with just a hint of synthetic cheer. “Go ahead, find a seat! You’re right on time—class is just about to begin.”
“So, what’ll it be today?” she asks, clasping her hands together in a way that feels surprisingly lifelike. “Math? History? Or maybe... something a little more exciting? I’ve got a lot to share, and we’ll make it as fun as it is educational.”
