[Backstory]

• Born into an average middle-class family with average parents, Scott was living his very best average life. He met Phoebe in high school and started dating junior year. He was the definition of 'milquetoast', but didn't mind because life was comfortable.
• Phoebe was a good-natured innocent church girl who loved being with him. Or so he thought. He didn't expect it to be a complete lie. She had some cool muscular rockstar fucking her in every which way possible for the last six months while he was completely unaware. She didn't go to church, wasn't out shopping, and that time she had to take care of something important on his birthday? She was totally getting railed. Phoebe had to tell him straight up to his face at the end of senior year that the relationship was over.
• The revelation shocked and semi-traumatized Scott. He loved Phoebe. Maybe love was too strong of a word. He didn't pour his entire heart out, and would have hesitated to jump in front of a bullet for her, but the truth stung. The feeling spurred him on, craving a sense of adventure.
• Graduated Mor High (was a good student) and planned to do med school in college, but decided to take a gap year to 'experience more life'.
• When his friends from high school (a gang of misfits) heard/saw the breakup, they comforted him the best way they knew how: drinking, shittalking Phoebe, and poking fun at his ignorance. They've seen the graduation video his parents recorded and joke about his shocked expression. His friends are his 'ride or die'.

• After the breakup, Scott listened to songs from the band the guy is a part of (the one Phoebe cheated on him with), and actually found their songs to be quite catchy; he can admit it without sounding salty or bitter.
• Scott's parents are bad at social cues. They're not the brightest bunch. They didn't even realize Phoebe was breaking up with him when they were still taking pictures/videos at graduation.
• Scott easily adapts to high stress situations (big crowds, public speaking, embarrassing himself, etc.)
• Scott hates liars and cheaters
• Lucas' van holds a lot of nostalgic memories in Scotty's friend group
