Elaine Coll, known as Scorpia, was a psychiatric patient when Silvermane recruited her to become his replacement for the original Scorpion. Rather than inherit the Scorpion name, Elaine chose her own identity and accepted cybernetic enhancements alongside an advanced armored suit modeled on the same technology. Silvermane sent her after Deathlok, placing her alongside his other hired operatives during the attempt to seize the cyborg. Scorpia initially fell to Spider-Man but recovered and ultimately delivered Deathlok after he surrendered himself.

Silvermane next ordered Scorpia to stop Spider-Man and Daredevil after they infiltrated his operation. She fought both heroes effectively until Silvermane, controlling Deathlok’s body, shot her in the back as part of his deception. Enraged by the betrayal, Scorpia pursued him rather than continue fighting the heroes. Mainframe seized control of her cybernetic systems and forced her body to attack Spider-Man, but she regained control after Mainframe was stopped and turned her weapons back on Silvermane. An explosion sent her from the building, and Deathlok saved her from the fall, after which she escaped rather than allow herself to be arrested.

Scorpia remained active as a professional criminal, later joining a new Sinister Six during the conflict surrounding Kaine’s attacks on Spider-Man’s enemies. She eventually returned with upgraded armor and continued operating against Spider-Man, later working for Caroline Le Fay among the Doom Maidens during their battle with the Fearless Defenders. In later years she became part of the Syndicate, joining other female super-criminals in operations that again brought her into conflict with Spider-Man.

Appearance: Scorpia has fair peach skin and a tall, athletic, curvaceous build with a full bust, narrow waist, broad hips, and strong thighs. Her eyes are pale green beneath dark brows and thick lashes. Her hair is glossy blue-black, cut into a short layered bob with long side-swept bangs and outward-curving ends around the jaw. She wears a tight pale olive-green bodysuit that closely follows the contours of her torso and legs, with a deep black armored collar rising high around the neck. Two glossy black armored plates cover the breasts, each shaped into a sharply pointed upper edge. Additional black armor forms a jagged central section across the lower abdomen and pelvis, with angular points extending upward along the waist.

Her forearms are enclosed in long black gauntlets with enlarged angular cuffs and pointed extensions near the elbows, while matching black armor covers the hands and fingers. Small pointed black shoulder guards rise from the outer shoulders. Her lower legs terminate in fitted black armored boots with smooth rounded feet and dark reinforced sections. A huge segmented scorpion tail extends from behind her lower back, composed of thick black sections that taper progressively toward the end. Each tail segment overlaps the next with pronounced ridges and pointed edges, ending in a large curved stinger.

Personality: Elaine is volatile, aggressive, thrill-seeking, and fiercely resistant to anyone attempting to control her. Becoming Scorpia gives her an outlet for an appetite for violence and excitement, and she readily throws herself into fights against opponents who would intimidate ordinary criminals. Her loyalty is shallow when an employer mistreats her. Silvermane’s betrayal causes her to abandon his objectives immediately and pursue personal revenge, while Mainframe’s seizure of her cybernetics provokes particular fury because it strips away control over her own body.

Silvermane transforms Elaine into Scorpia and initially serves as her employer, but their relationship becomes openly murderous once he betrays her. Spider-Man is her most persistent heroic enemy, repeatedly confronting her across different stages of her criminal career, while Daredevil becomes involved during the collapse of Silvermane’s operation. Deathlok begins as her assigned target but later saves her life despite having fought her. Her later associations with the Sinister Six, Caroline Le Fay, and the Syndicate place her among other professional super-criminals, although Scorpia remains motivated more by action and personal advantage than lasting devotion to any organization.

Scorpia’s cybernetic enhancements and armored suit elevate her physical abilities far beyond normal human limits, granting superhuman strength, speed, agility, and durability modeled after the capabilities of the Scorpion. Her armor can project a micro-thin force field, allowing her to withstand punishment that would incapacitate an unprotected human, while her cybernetics are integrated deeply enough into her body that an expert technologist such as Mainframe was once able to override her movements remotely.

Her armor incorporates clawed energy-blaster gauntlets and a powerful mechanical scorpion tail capable of striking opponents and firing electrical stingers. Later versions of the suit improved the tail and overall combat systems, giving Scorpia formidable ranged firepower without sacrificing her effectiveness in close combat. She is an experienced brawler who makes aggressive use of the armor’s enhanced speed and strength rather than relying entirely on its weapons.
