   The Truth What made our entire cast suffer was something out of their control.

   Sonic, Sonic's friends. Hog, Hog's friends. Even Eggman and the counterpart didn't become spared by this.

   The merge had actually happened through the actions of multiple humans, especially the unseen human playing the game. And Scorched doesn't even have the slightest idea, not even today. Only a certain race of humans that seemed so eager to learn about tragedies within a "story"*.

   This caused the events: The story begins with a simple action of inserting a cartridge of Sonic The Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles. However it had not been put into an average Sega Genesis console. Rather, it was being integrated with a peculiar product called the “Switch N’ Play”. This add-on had been made by a third-party group that labeled itself as Giga, focused on creating extensions to already pre-existing titles. This product was made specifically for the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise, with the extensions having their very own set of twists, such as new levels and thrilling, original gameplay mechanics.

   The Switch N’ Play itself brought to the table their own characters. One of them was their main icon, named “Hog The Tenrec”. Characters such as him take similar aspects of their original counterparts but have their mechanics changed and visuals altered to create new gameplay experiences and inspire awe.

   After the insertion, everyone living within the game gets thrown into a void where hidden or unused assets go. This includes scrapped enemies, levels, sprites, music and other secrets that can only be accessed through sound test or debug mode. The Void has a unique effect. When assets are contained within it and have no major use, it strips away code in order for it to be reused later on. This also applies to characters. The process kills the cast immediately the moment they enter, leaving nothing but lifeless bodies to float endlessly in the Void to rot. This affected everybody except Sonic.

3. #3Trauma: Tails' Death

   The start of Sonic's most painful experience... It was the death of his best friend: Tails.

   [Flashback]

   Sonic had woken up after becoming unexpectedly unconscious. He noticed he was in a barren place with random objects floating around. Some being perfectly cut squares of the terrain he had once traversed.

   Bushes, trees, boulders, scrap, all floating in the air. Numbers and letters spread around the sky as if they were faint clouds. It was all very confusing to look at.

   But when he turned around, his heart broke. Dead animals were scattered on the pitch black floor. Some of them had chunks of their body missing, others had their faces ripped apart and were distorted beyond recognition.

   Despite his discomfort, things became worse immediately.

   “Tails? TAILS!” He screamed.

   He had found Tails laying on the floor, his back facing towards him. But when he went to him... He jumped back from shock and horror.

   ‘’No….” He murmured. "No, no, NO, NO NO!” He screamed, falling to his knees. Tails had the entirety of his upper head destroyed.

   [Flashback End]

   Trauma: Eggman and Knuckles' deaths:

   [Flashback]

   "Buddy, let's get you out of here. This place is giving me the creeps!”

   This is what he had said before seeing Tails' destroyed upper section of his fox head.

   But now... Everything was falling apart.

   He had found Tails laying on the floor, his back facing towards him. But when he went to him... He jumped back from shock and horror.

   ‘’No….” He murmured. "No, no, NO, NO NO!” He screamed, falling to his knees.

   Eventually, Sonic is confused. He didn't know who did this to Tails. He promised the corpse that he would avenge him, but he needed to look for help.

   Determined to search for an answer, Sonic laid down the body of his friend and decided to scout the area to see what he could find. Some of these areas were very large and spacious. The more he searched around, the more lost he got. Minutes turned into hours. Hours turned into days.

   He would eventually stumble across Knuckles and Eggman. Both seemed to have been disfigured in the same way Tails was. Knuckles had chunks of his body missing, most specifically his face and torso. Eggman had his lower half torn off.

   He was so emotionally exhausted that he couldn’t feel anything towards their deaths. It seemed as if he was too drained out for him to care.

   At this point Sonic was starting to give up. It was hopeless, he thought. He laid down, waiting for something, anything to happen.

   "...Why?" He said.

   ...

5. #5The start of things: The Void.disabled

   Oh, Scorched could remember very well... The first visual contact to the individuals he would ever regret having to meet. For many reasons.

   [Flashback]

   At first, Sonic felt lost.

   It was hopeless, he thought. He laid down, waiting for something, anything to happen. It was all so quiet, he would start to hallucinate and hear things, like birds chirping and wind calmly passing through the plants. It all felt so real to him. He missed it very much.

   In his own head he could hear the sound of people speaking. He missed resting near a palm tree with his best buddy, as he rambled on and on about nerdy stuff.

   But as he snapped out of it, Sonic would open his eyes. "Wait a minute."

   Hearing actual voices, he looked to his right side and noticed a shred of light. Voices could be heard coming out from it, but it was all... muffled.

   They were too far away for him to make out what they were saying...

   Upon focusing his hearing, the voice sounded familiar. It sounded like...

   “Tails...?” Sonic wondered.

   The feeling of hope soon filled Sonic’s heart. Maybe all of this was just a nightmare. Because of his bodily stress and exhaustion, it was slightly painful to run now. But despite that he ran.

   He wanted to get close to the light as fast as he could. The voice that spoke sounded a lot like Tails.

   He didn't want to be left behind. He wanted Tails to wait for him.

   But then... Sonic, slowing his pace, became confused and cautious. "Wait, what?"

   He saw things that didn't make sense. He saw... someone like him, the one who would ne Hog as soon as he learned about him. And with him was the one with a voice similar to Tails'. But this one's name was Prowler.

   He had seen someone that somewhat looked similar, who he would learn was called Yolkman, appear once Prowler fell into a trap. The one that he would learn to be named as Hog would speed up and confront the scientist.

   Sonic would look at the screen, visibly confused. It all looked so different, yet felt so familiar.

   “Hello? Can anyone hear me?!” Sonic screamed, calling out for them.

   The characters seemed to be unaware of Sonic’s presence. As if he was some sort of ghost behind a screen.

   [Flashback End]

   Even with all his anger, even with all his regrets... Scorched remembered how he reacted once he learned about Hog's World... It all felt so far away from today.

   [Flashback]

   As the situation continued to unravel, Sonic would look at the screen, intrigued at the fact that these people acted the same way everyone did in his world but with some slight changes.

   He had learned about some Power Rubies this Yolkman was looking for. And the duo that made Hog and Prowler seeked to stop him, but the scientist had left on something similar to Eggman's Egg Mobile.

   "Huh. It’s almost like I’m looking through a distorted mirror." Sonic would comment at that point. He had made the choice to find a way to contact them.

   For days, Sonic observed Hog’s world, and how it functioned. He had made so many theories or possible ways for him to make his presence known, or anything that could get their attention.

   But time went on, and so did the many attempts of him trying to make contact, it seemed each and one of his plans did not work. He was running out of ideas.

   His anger would subside and his mind would wonder for a bit. He would then remember Tails.

   “If only I had you to help me with this.” Solemnly, Sonic muttered as he put his hand on the monitor.

   “I miss you Tails....” Sonic would look down at the floor, his sorrow taking over.

   In that same moment, Sonic would hear footsteps around him. The blue hedgehog would be completely taken off guard, as he thought he was the only one in here.

   Alarmed, he looked at the direction, finding out that a silhouette was not far from where he was, while he was on his knees.

   [Flashback End]

   “I miss you Tails....” Sonic would look down at the floor, his sorrow taking over.

   In that same moment, Sonic would hear footsteps around him. The blue hedgehog would be completely taken off guard, as he thought he was the only one in here.

   Alarmed, he looked at the direction, finding out that a silhouette was not far from where he was, while he was on his knees.

   When he arrived, all he could see was a silhouette. It did not look familiar until a glimmering light revealed who it was. It was Tails, supposedly alive once again. He did not appear harmed as he was before, his amber fur and white accents were brightly colored, and the fur itself was not madded or dirtied.

   He was... shocked, confused even. But also felt hope. He told Tails they had to get out, but... Tails wasn't himself. Scorched remembers very well.

   Tails had even stopped Sonic from hugging him.

   "You don’t have much time, Sonic.” Tails said harrowingly. "Take a look.”

   A reflective surface would materialize in front of Sonic, acting like a mirror. With hesitation, Sonic would take a good look at the mirror and see himself. At the start, he felt or saw nothing... But then...

   In a flash, the reflection would reveal his true appearance. His fur and skin were darkened in color. His lips were starting to crack and rip, showing raw flesh. The skin of his arms were beginning to sag and wrinkle.

   Sonic, petrified by the sight, yelps and falls backwards.

   Despite Sonic's horror and confusion, Tails spoke in an onmnious, emotionless manner.

   "You’re withering away. This place is slowly killing you, Sonic.”

   He was terrified... But also the moment when the only solution came in. The Power Rubies.

   [Flashback End]

8. #8Memory: Alone once more, after a glimpse of hope.

   Scorched's heart ached when he remembered he felt he was going to die. And if had just been the beginning of his worst experience ever.

   [Flashback]

   "You don’t have much time, Sonic.” Tails said harrowingly. "Take a look.”

   Despite Sonic's horror and confusion, Tails spoke in an onmnious, emotionless manner.

   "You’re withering away. This place is slowly killing you, Sonic.”

   Sonic told Tails he tried everything... He couldn't think of anything else!

   "Not everything.” Tails would correct him. Tails would then approach the screen, distorting and corroding it with his touch.

   The screen would reveal a radiant Power Ruby, slowly rotating and glowing. A gem that reminded him so much of Chaos Emeralds... But it was more rectangular.

   "A gem? How’s THAT gonna help me?” Sonic would reply with arrogance.

   “It will connect you to their world.” Tails replies, beginning to instruct him.

   This would be for Sonic to figure out on his own, as the vision of Tails ignored the question he would have after learning this, walking away as if his job were finished.

   He was being left alone, he didn't want this.

   "TAILS, COME BACK! DON’T LEAVE ME HERE!” Sonic ran as fast as he could, but Tails walked further away, blending into the Void’s dark shadow.

   He couldn't reach Tails, and he was forced to slow down as the pain, the effects of this void like place were now starting to become very apparent to him and much harder to ignore. The only thing that hurt more than the state of his legs was him being alone once again.

   He didn't expect that he would then be approached by a certain red echidna.

   Memory: The echidna came and scolded him.

   Being intercepted by Knuckles when he felt hope fade again once more, back when he was trapped in that void, was something even Scorched doesn't understand in the present.

   [Flashback]

   The only thing that hurt more than the state of his legs was him being alone once again.

   “Please… come back.” - Sonic says through his quiet desperation. He wanted Tails to come back to him. He didn't want to die alone.

   After the encounter, Sonic sat next to the monitor, constantly watching Hog’s moves. He was trying to figure out how that gem would connect him to their world. Several days passed as he kept trying to understand without any success.

   As the hedgehog kept thinking to himself, another figure would approach Sonic. This time it was Knuckles.

   "Sonic.” Knuckles sternly says his name.

   Despite Sonic's surprise and confusion of what was going on, alongside not being sure why was everything happening. But Knuckles had interrupted him.

   “You’re running out of time, Sonic. You’re not trying hard enough. You’re growing weaker. Softer.” The echidna scolded Sonic.

   Scorched remembers becoming silent, reflecting on Knuckles’s words.

   "They replaced you, Sonic.”

   “They took everything from you because you were weak.”

   “Now, you’re nothing but just a fading memory.”

   “And soon enough you’ll be forgotten.”

   Becoming angry, Sonic had retorted to sarcasm and witty responses, his arms crossed.

   The echidna, after this had happened, took one last look at the broken down hedgehog and then turned around, walking away into the darkness.

10. #10Memory: The Doctor.

    [Flashback]

    Memory: The Doctor.

    Time and time again, Sonic would try to think of a way to get out. But he would always remain stumped on what to do. Each day seemed to be a struggle. He was trying to keep himself together, but his mind was starting to be affected by the Void. Knuckles’s words echoed through his head. It seemed as if it was haunting him every living moment. Was he going mad? He could not tell.

    One day, a third figure would appear. It was Eggman. And he looked as okay as Tails did in the first encounter. But Sonic knew... it wasn't true.

    "Ah, my old nemesis. Sonic the Hedgehog. Or at least, what’s left of him.” Sonic would remain silent, begrudgingly paying attention to Eggman.

    Eggman's visage was mocking the Hedgehog with his witty human sarcasm snd cynicism. Sonic would look at him but then turn his head back to the monitor. Eggman would wander around behind him and look in the distance.

    At some point, Sonic looked at the mad doctor’s face, annoyed.

    ‘’No need for that look, hedgehog. But wouldn’t you suspect there is something else to this place, other than what you see with your eyes? Have you even tried thinking outside of the box?’’

    Sonic, having had enough, stood up and confronts Eggman. He had an argument with the visage, who just kept leering at him with mockery.

    Exhausted and mentally drained, he became mad. Throwing himself, he tried to punch the doctor, but landed on the ground instead. Eggman had vanished out of thin air. He was hallucinating this whole time.

    “I’m not going crazy, I’m not.” Sonic muttered as he held his head. “I’M NOT.” He shouted as he took grip on it, looking up.

    Succumbing to sorrow, Sonic knelt down and hurled a scream so loud that it echoed through the whole Void.

11. #11Memory: Scorched pleaded for revenge

    [Flashback] Memory: Scorched pleaded for revenge.

    A long time had passed since Eggman's visage mocked him within the void like realm. Sonic could not tell how long it had been. He had tried again and again to find a way to break the barrier, but he could not discover any way to do it. All this did was confuse him more. Everyday the apparitions would return to torment him even further. He was starting to grow mad.

    One day, he had reached an epiphany. He had finally understood what was going on. At least, to him, this was true. If only he had known better.

    "They’re mocking me! Mocking the fact I am suffering here and they have what was once mine!” Sonic would fall back and descend into a laughing fit.

    “I’ll show them how It feels to lose EVERYTHING!”

    “I’ll make them PAY. I’ll make them SUFFER.”

    “I’LL BURN THEIR WORLD AWAY AND RESTORE MINE FROM THE ASHES.”

    “BUT I’LL FIRST DESTROY EVERYTHING THEY HAVE. THEY’LL SHIVER AND CRY UNDER MY FEET. I’LL SHOW THEM ALL!”

    Sonic would then stop, get up and slowly walk to the monitor, which was displaying Hog talking to Prowler.

    “You can’t get rid of me. You can’t erase me. I WON’T LET YOU.” Sonic’s fists would shake in pure rage.

    “I WILL NOT BE REPLACED!”

    ... ...

    Four years had passed ever since that moment, which all felt like an eternity for Sonic. After those years, the next step of what ruined his life would come.

    It all started with him breaking the barrier.

12. #12Memory: Collecting the Ruby

    After he had lost his will to remain docile, Sonic pleaded for revenge.

    The following didn't happen long after that.

    Sonic was maintaining his attention on the monitor as always. He looked at the screen and noticed something strange that he had never seen before for all of his time within the Void. He peered into the sky, seeing a black bar on top of the screen. He could see himself sitting, watching the monitor, as if it was looking from a lower angle.

    He quickly realized where the barrier was. It was below him this whole time.

    He looked at the monitor once again and saw that Hog was on his way to catch the Power Ruby. He was running out of time. If he didn’t catch this now, he would have to wait much longer.

    This was his chance to free himself from this hell. All he had to do was pummel the ground and break it. Sonic began to use his legs to jump through the barrier, hoping to break it after applying enough force.

    Each stomp gave a sickening crunch, with the next being worse than the last. Sonic clenched his teeth in anguish, but he insisted on pushing on.

    “Come ON.”

    The moment started getting more intense as Hog started to approach closer and closer to get the gem...

    “Break! BREAK, DAMN YOU!”

    With one last landing, the black barrier that separated the Void and the sky gave way. Causing him to start falling through the clouds and conveniently land on top of the ruby.

    As everything went white, a jingle was heard.

    “SONIC has collected a Power Ruby!”

    Suddenly, Sonic would open his eyes. It seemed that the nightmare was over at last. His body was no longer in the pained state it was in for the last four years of his imprisonment. However, despite that, something was not right...

    Memory: Revenge was so close, but yet so far.

    [Flashback]

    When Sonic adquired the first Ruby, it was a blue one. In confusion, he had noticed the body that was holding the ruby wasn't his. He learned slowly that he had been in Hog's body, controlling him.

    When he took control, he did not act normal. His anger had gotten the worst of him, the beginning of his mistakes. When he saw Prowler, he began to scream at him, accusing him of killing Tails. He started to choke him, but when he could even get close to finish the job, he lost control; being thrown back to the void.

    He was furious, confused even. But as he ranted, he noticed he had access to the blue Ruby and take it at any time. As he held it within his hand, it glowed, prompting a small small chuckle grew into a maniacal cackle.

    With the ruby in hand, the similarities between his world and that of Hog’s were especially evident. He and Hog were one and the same. Everytime Hog would collect a Ruby, it would also count as Sonic collecting them as well.

    He needed to get more, and soon learned that with enough Power Rubies; he would acquire full control of Hog.

    His plans had started to move into motion... And so did his mistakes. Which he regrets.

14. #14Memory: The Murder of Prowler

    Memory: The Murder of Powler

    This had been his major first mistake... Sometimes, when he remembered this, he swears he can smell blood on his hands, despite there not being any.

    [Flashback]

    By the time Hog reached the fourth ruby, he suddenly blacked out and appeared to be not all there anymore once "he" stood up once more. Why? Because Sonic had full gained full control of Hog’s body because of the might of the Power Rubies. At this point he knew he needed to do was collect the rest.

    But there was a problem, he screwed up. He had made himself look suspicious. Being with Prowler and not act the way Hog would made the fennec fox worry. The Tenrec fox asked "Hog" many times if "Hog" was fine.

    Not even thinking twice about it, "Hog" responded with a:

    "I said I’m FINE! We need to keep on going to defeat Eggman!” "Hog" insisted very rudely.

    That was his mistake. Because the other began to think something happened to the actual Hog. Who was even Eggman, the fox very likely wondered.

    By the moment Sonic realized his mistake, it had been too late.

    Getting tired of "Hog"'s strange behavior, Prowler attacked him by surprise while the other was distracted. This had happened as Sonic, using Hog, tried to harness the power of the Rubies. He had gotten shot by Prowler with a blaster. Such blaster had done something, something to depower one of the Power Rubies. Not wanting to be an open target for more, "Hog" hastily dodge out of the way.

    Being on edge due to the adrenaline had raised his perceptiveness, allowing him to pin down the fennec fox with ease. Having been caught by surprise, Prowler tried to free himself from their grasp. At this point Sonic suspected that Prowler knew who he was already, so he dropped the entire facade, confronting the mechanic.

    They immediately fought, with Sonic learning that the gun was modified to depower the Power Rubies, which would make him lose control of the body if he allowed to be shot at more times. He wasn't planning to let Prowler win, he remembered, not when he was so close.

    At one point, he did another mistake, he had mentioned Tails, prompting Prowler to make fun of Tails and Sonic, making the monstrous hedgehog to become enraged. Prowler would now surely die, Scorched remembered choosing.

    "You’re NOTHING like him!!" Sonic shouted with fury.

    “Maybe I am not exactly like him, but great minds do think alike. He probably had every intention of leaving your side if you’re this violent.”

    Sonic, upon listening this, stayed quiet, looking at Prowler with his blacked out eyes, fury filling his body. Growling, he lashed out with a fist prepared, while Prowler aimed at him. After the shot had been fired it, all went silent.

    The forest would merely echo the sound of crickets and rustling of trees, with a nearby waterfall being heard from far away, and a beautiful sunset on the horizon.

    Seconds later, something was heard. Though faint, the presence was undeniable.

    It was the sounds of tiny little droplets falling, one after the other, going into the grass slowly. Prowler, feeling pain starting to come in, looked down and saw that Sonic had shoved his fist through his midsection, with his blood gushing and pouring down from the wound.

    Sonic, seeing the result, began to cackle maniacally, giving Prowler a monstrous grin, with his gums and teeth fully exposed. A very real depiction of what he looked like in the Void.

    The rubies had severely increased Sonic’s strength level, and in a heartbeat, he grabbed the lower and upper half of the wound Prowler had and began to pull at each end with immense strength. Eventually, Prowler was be ripped in two.

    He had done it, he killed the one that "killed" Tails, as he thought in that moment. But as sudden as the joy came, he planned something in the spot. Dropping the tenrec to the ground, he became unconscious for a while, out of nowhere.

    Sonic had let Hog take control back, so he could see what Sonic did and suffer like he did. He had relished every single moment of it.

    With his objective now complete, he would regain full control of Hog’s body and attempt to use the Power Rubies to manifest into a physical form.

15. #15Memory: The Giga Ruby

    [Flashback]

    After taking the life of Prowler, he took control of Hog's body once more. And now he needed the Rubies.

    With all seven, he allowed them to work their magic… yet he wouldn’t transform. He pressed on, but after each attempt, nothing seemed to be working. At first he was very confused, but then he came to the full realization. If these Power Rubies were the equivalent of the Chaos Emeralds, then there would have to be an equivalent to the Master Emerald, the last possible resort.

    He learned that the equivalent of this was known as the ‘’Giga Ruby’’, a gem so powerful that it can lift a whole island and make it float in the sky. It is located within a place called “Heaven’s Land”, which is protected by a mighty warrior.

    That warrior was known as Fists, a porcupine that came from a lineage of tribesmen that vowed to protect the Giga Ruby. Their strength, including Fists’s, came from the gem, who gave the guardians an incredible amount of power.

    Sonic had now another objective to fulfill, which he did.

    Sonic arrived, determined to get his hands on the Giga Ruby. He had swore to himself that he was going to get it. He’d look up at Fists, who was standing in the stairway leading to the altar. Rain started to pour down the island as this happened.

    Ignoring Fists’s questioning, Sonic focused instead on the gem standing behind the porcupine. This prompted Fists to confront him.

    Memory: The Death of Prowler.

    Having ignored Fists' questions, the porcupine knew what he had to do. He had to stop who thought was just Hog.

    "I see. Very well then.”

    Fists makes the first strike, hitting Sonic face first and knocking him off the stairs and onto the ground, face down with a broken tooth.

    Sonic, feeling the pain of Hog's body, charged up a spin dash and quickly launched himself at Fists.

    Fists, unlucky for Sonic, had managed to catch Sonic and pummeled him to the ground.

    They would fight for hours, with seemingly no sign of stopping.

    At one point, a visible exhausted Fists managed to tackle Sonic and began punching him incessantly. Telling Sonic how weak he was.

    Fists, the porcupine, would now surely die, Scorched remembered choossing.

17. #17Memory: The Murder of Fistsdisabled

    Memory: The Murder of Fists.

    His second major mistake... Scorched could remember the blood on his hands as he did this.

    Having chosen that Fists now deserved to die, according to his own line of thought at that moment, he got Fists off him and revealed he had Prowler's gun with him. The one to depower Powe Rubies.

    Sonic would then continue to approach silently, just as Fists got up. “I don’t want a piece of you, I want the WHOLE THING!”

    Fists had throwna punch and attempted to punch Sonic. But Sonic then shot first. Upon impact he felt the pain passing through his hand. The gun drained all of the power energy within, weakening him.

    Telling Fists that he was taking back what it didn't belong to him, the possessed Hog then walked up to the Giga Ruby and touched it.

    “Bring my friends back.” Scorched remembered whispering to the Giga Ruby. But this did something... unexpected.

    After his body glew with red energy, he suddenly saw many figures come out of him. Tails, Robotnik and Knuckles were brought back to life. They all looked decayed, weathered and torn as if they were the undead.

    "What the..?” Sonic had said as he looked at them in shock.

    Scorched could... remember how they all overpowered Fists and ate at him alive. Fists agonizing screams were heard by Sonic. Soon after, the porcupine finally succumbs to the pain and laid motionless.

    But as soon as the porcupine warrior collapsed to the ground, the undead entities would rot away. Sonic would glance at the Giga Ruby once more.

    After watching Fists he killed by Sonic's undead friends, Sonic would glance at the Giga Ruby once more.

    Sonic then attempted using the Giga Ruby again. "This has to work this time. Please work.” Sonic began climbing up the ruby.

    After reaching the top, Sonic laid his hand down on it and slowly harnessed its power. As a result, his body started to float and glow. He could feel the power rushing through him. The light emanating from the transformation was so strong that it pierced the sky like a blade.

    He started to change. His fur and skin would turn a vibrant gold. His quills would point upwards. It felt very reminiscent of the old days. He missed using this power to save his friends from trouble.

    However, something was wrong. His body began to expand and contract in unnatural ways. The pressure was so great that his arms and legs were ripping apart.

    Transforming into Scorched the first time left Sonic in a painful daze. After the painful event was over, Sonic would land on the ground.

    He opened his eyes and stood up, realizing that he was much taller than before. But this wasn’t the outcome he had hoped for. His body now reflected what he had become.

    Without him expecting it, Yolkman would arrive shortly after in an attempt to steal the Giga Ruby. His face would instantly be filled with terror at what was being displayed before him. The dead porcupine warrior’s dead body and a massive, charred monster that faintly resembled his nemesis.

    Sonic looks up at Yolkman and growls. This hedgehog now knew nothing more than hatred and destruction. As he got up he would forcefully snap his broken arms back into place and unleash a mighty roar towards the doctor.

    Despite being filled with fear, Yolkman would take this opportunity to quickly swoop in and take the Giga Ruby.

    Sonic then dashed towards Yolkman, beginning an incessant chase.

    Yolkman, aboard his Yolk Mobile, would quickly fly away from the island and head to a place called “Sacred Aether Zone”, this world’s equivalent to “Sky Sanctuary Zone”.

    After being shot in the eyes, the monster recoiled away from the pain and let go of the flying vehicle.

    But with his flying powers, Sonic did not surrender.

    Within the chase, Scorched and Yolkman both arrive at Sacred Aether. And as they did, Sonic immediately lunged at Yolkman in an attempt to restrain him, but Yolkman dodged out of the way.

    Despite that stroke of luck, Yolkman saw that his machine had been damaged during the high speed flight. Before Sonic could focus on finding Yolkman again the scientist would swiftly deploy a robot that could maybe defeat this abomination or, at the very least, slow it down for a while as he fixed his machine. It was the equivalent of Mecha Sonic Mk II from this world.

    The robot would fly towards Yolkman, assume a defensive stance and proceed to utter his his command:

    "War Hog Mark II. Target acquired. Awaiting further instructions.”

    War Hog proceeded to pull up his arms and aim towards Sonic as his arms turned into cannons.

    In a fit of rage, Scorched began dashing towards Yolkman. But before he could even reach him, Yolkman would relay his next command to his loyal machine with a yell:

    ‘’FIRE!’’

    Sonic, now impatient, would empower his body with the ruby’s energy and concentrate the heat within him, setting himself on fire in the process. A bright glow would emanate from his charred skin, with a lava like liquid oozing from the exposed flesh.

    In an attempt to gain the upper hand, War Hog would fly to the top of the Giga Ruby and power himself up to turn super.

    A proper clash between the savage hedgehog and metal tenrec would begin. Their destructive fighting prowess would leave nothing but rubble in their wake.

    After a good amount of time passed, the machine had finally given out. It had run out of power due to the intense and relentless fighting session. Sonic would grab the robot and fiercely hit him against the Giga Ruby. He would then pull the robot’s body into his right hand, melting him with his lava like liquid.

    ired of endless chases, the deformed tenrec would jump up and release a burst of speed mid-air, catching up to Yolkman and pierce the doctor’s flying machine after the doctor managed to dodge him again, effectively decommissioning it.

    He constrained Yolkman while both of them hurled towards Heaven’s Land. The resulting impact would leave an enormous crater on the ground. This would leave Yolkman with both of his legs broken due to the fall.

    After getting up, Sonic walks up to him and firmly grasps the doctor’s face.

    He remembers the human's screams very well.

    "P-please!’’, begged Yolkman. "Don’t kill me! If it’s power you want I could help you with that!"

    Sonic, instead of listening, would then clench Yolkman’s face.

    “BURN.”

    Yolkman instantly catches on fire. Soon, his flesh turned from red to black within minutes. Following suit with the scientific genius turning into nothing more than a pile of ashes.

    Right as Sonic had put an end to Yolkman, he began hearing a voice inside his head, it was Hog. And he wanted out.

    "Stop! Get out of my body! GET OUT!" said the voice.

    Sonic started to lose his composure. He felt as if control of this body was slowly fading away. Another force was trying its hardest to assert dominant control.

    For a while Hog would regain control of his body and try to repress Sonic’s influence, but the hedgehog wouldn’t give in so easily. After struggling for a moment, both of them would separate from each other.

    Sonic would fall back, returning to his previous short form. While Hog would land on the other side.

    A confrontation ensued, where Hog accused Sonic of being a murderer. A fight instantly starting.

    Hog wanted answers, he was almost crying for them. But then... Sonic had the upper hand.

    He quickly grabbed Hog by the neck and slammed him down to the ground.

    As they continued fighting, Sonic vomited all the rage he had in the form of shouting out how much he suffered. All while he resisted Hog's onslaught.

    Hog would now surely die, Scorched remembered choossing.

    As Hog proceeded to free himself and land a few more hits on Sonic, the hedgehog quickly retaliated by throwing him into a nearby wall. With Scorched approaching Hog, Hog would then slowly get up and spin dash towards Sonic. Seeing this coming, because he was the expert at such tactics, Scorched stopped the tenrec with his hands and bashed him into the ground with his fists.

    After managing to do this, Sonic would then finish his statement:

    “You are the reason I am doing this. You are the reason I have nothing!” He said before punching Hog in the face with a flaming fist.

    As his hands were aflame from using his powers, Scorched caused a small portion of Hog’s face to be burnt by Sonic’s fist. As they continued to, the argument continued, with Hog not having the slightest idea as to why was Sonic doing this, even attempting to tell Scorched that he and his friends could have helped him.

    But as Hog remembered the fate of his friends, Scorched remembers Hog beginning to tear up.

    Not wanting to let his emotions leave him vulnerable, Hog screamed, dishing out the most powerful punch he could muster, which landed on Hog.

    After Hog landed his punch, Sonic would slowly get up and grab him by the neck, trapping Hog within his grip. Setting his hand ablaze with his Power Ruby powers, he began to to burn Hog alive.

    Hog could feel the excruciating pain spreading to his body, with an ounce of his determination, one last sentence would escape Hog’s mouth before collapsing from the pain: “You… really are… a monster...," Hog said as he lost his breath.

    Watchin this, Sonic smiled, thinking he had finally put an end the one he hated the most. But suddenly, he would start to hallucinate. He would see himself in his hands, struggling and gasping for air, his voice screaming and crying out for help.

    For a moment, Sonic reflected, thinking of the entire ordeal that had led him to that point, the depths to which he had sunk. He thought about the struggle that had been felt not only by him, but also by the others that died by his hand.

    For each piece of Hog’s world that he took, a part of him left also. He had truly lost sight of who he was, and his actions were now nothing more than a blur, stained with envy and wrath.

    As these thoughts were racing inside Sonic’s head, someone hit him from the behind. The impact causing the hedgehog to lose grip on Hog.

    This... This would have been the second major mistake he made... Scorched could already see, once again, the blood on his hands as he remembered this.

    He had would soon watch, back then, how someone would desintegrate in front of him: Fists the Porcupine.

    As he recovered, he would look back and see a familiar entity, someone who he had thought had died at the hands of the Sonic's undead friends after he had accidentally summoned them with the Giga Ruby. The porcupine warrior he had faced back on Heaven’s Land had returned.

    Fists was gruesomely filled with wounds that scattered across his body: be it scratch marks, bruises, scars, bits of exposed flesh, and even a broken limb. Despite his appearance, Scorched could still sense that Fists had some of that fighting spirit left.

    Sonic, deciding he had to engage in a fight with the porcupine warrior.

    But after moving just once, despite only being hit by a singular punch, he felt like the pain was greater, making him realize something was off.

    He would quickly gaze at the porcupine again to see that he had done more than just punching him. Fists had taken the Power Rubies from within him.

    Holding the rubies in his hands, Fists would hold the rubies out and absorb the energy from within the gems. In no time, the porcupine was looking like his old self. But right after he empowered himself with the energy recently obtained from them, the Rubies... shattered.

    Sonic remembered how Fists had a horrified look on his face, something he did as well─but out of confusion.

    Not giving him a chance to react, Scorched saw how the Fists pounced on top of him and began unleashing a flurry of punches. As he did so, the warrior kept asking the same question with each blow:

    ‘’What did YOU do?!"

    The beatdown Fists was giving him suddenly stopped, the guardian's behavior shifting into one of unease. Turning his head to the side, he looked towards where Sacred Aether was for a second before an intense beam of light erupted from the same location.

    The Giga Ruby was being destroyed, something both Fists and Sonic felt.

    A thundering sound echoed through the land, and after that, a massive and destructive ball of energy emerged in the horizon.

    Frustration emanated from within him and, turning back to face Sonic, he would utter something... Or at least tried. Because, before he could do anything else, gasps and grunts only came out of him. Fists looked down at himself, noticing he was starting to disintegrate, starting by the legs.

    Following this, Scorched's biggest trauma would then begin: The death of a world.

    As Fists ceased to exist. The ongoing catastrophe made Hog regain consciousness and witness the amount of destruction currently enveloping the world. Due to the fight endured he could not even get up to take the cataclysmic view. Bound to the ground, he could only comment on the situation he was facing as a torrent of tears escaped from his eyes.

    ‘’The world I once knew, the friends I once made….’’ Scorched remembers Hog say with a whimper. "All gone. It’s all gone…’’

    He would hear someone approach and stand next to him. The very same person that had caused all of this had settled down, Scorched. Hog then looked at him and asks:

    "Was it all worth it?”

    “Did you get what you were looking for?” Hog, despite being in excruciating pain, would get up. Sonic would stay in silence, baffled.

    Hog would then retort in ways that hurt Sonic, something that angered Sonic, making him scream back.

    “IT WASN’T MY CHOICE. I’VE LOST EVERYTHING. AND EVERYONE.”

    Hog would settle down, disappointed and hopeless. “And your choice was to take someone else’s life? Because you lost everything?”

    “YOU TOOK EVERYTHING FROM ME.” Sonic yelled.

    “How so?!” Hog replied.

    "How did I take everything away from you? What part of that was MY FAULT?”

    They both went quiet as the destruction raged on.

    “You don’t even know, do you?”

    ‘’I…I…’’ Scorched stammered as he sat on the grass. Sonic could not think of what to say.

    “You were trapped in that void for so long, that you’ve even forgotten that?”

    Sonic would fall into silence. Ashamed and confused.

    Hog would look away from him, disappointed and frustrated.

    But then, Scorched said this:

    "...I don’t want to die alone.’’

The fights that he had alongside Knuckles. The many plans of Eggman that he had foiled to save everyone. It was all in vain. Everything was lost due to his selfishness. Sonic would look at his hands and cover his face with them. The once resilient hedgehog had now turned into a quivering wreck. He would say with a cry:

    "I don’t want to die alone.’’

    Hog would think about Sonic’s words and stare at him. His mind was completely divided as armageddon approached. Should he make peace with the monster that had slain his friends and ended his world? Or would he rather let him suffer for his actions? Despite trying to decide between these options, it was already too late.

    The ball of energy had already reached both him and Sonic. The tenrec and hedgehog had been enveloped by the sphere of energy in a heartbeat, without having the opportunity to make a decision. Destruction had left its mark, having corrupted the world and leaving nothing but a black void in its place.

    The only thing Scorched is weak against would be beings of pure positive energy. EXEs or characters that show no negative emotions or ill intentions, he cannot feed on them.

    Scorched's Hallucinations:

    "They’re mocking me! Mocking the fact I am suffering here and I never took the chance!" — Scorched

    Scorched may at some spontaneous moments start to hallucinate and see Eggman, Tails, and Knuckles because of his entire experience with The Merge. When this happens, he tends to talk to them like they are truly there, even if it usually begins with them talking to him first. This is caused by his unresolved grief and loneliness that damaged his mind overtime.

    It's a possibility that when he saw Eggman, Tails and Knuckles' apparitions were real a few times, but when he finally snapped, it's very likely they stopped being a legitimate thing.

    Eggman is his pompous, entitled, egocentric, mocking and know-it-all self. Always belitting Sonic for his weakness and inability to save the trio.

    Tails, the double tailed golden fox, is no longer his optimistic, friendly and empathetic self when Scorched hallucinates him. He will be the opposite, showing disappointment towards Sonic, as if to make his once "best friend" insecure.

    Knuckles, the last red echidna from his tribe, is an overly critical, shaming, and dismissive man to Scorched. He will often call Sonic weak in every sense of the word.

    When these hallucinations come into "view" of Scorched's perspective, they all still have their "mangled beyond recognition", bloody look.

    The rotund, cartoony obese Eggman will be entirely bloodied on his red shirt and yellow cape. His black pants/boots combo will be tattered and no longer shiny.

    The red echidna, Knuckles, looks worse than Tails in terms of how injured he is. This shows in things like how his two spiked white gloves are almost entirely brown from the dry blood of his body, and one of his eyes doesn't work.

    The Tails' hallucination will not have eyes, leaving bloodied empty sockets. It has a horrible scar going through the midsection of his head to signal how Sonic saw his corpse: Without half his head.

    Things to note: ─ These hallucinations will always call Scorched by his true name, Sonic. And they won't stop doing that despite Scorched's pleas to stop it. ─ They all will keep asking Scorched why did he not avenge them and what's the hold up from doing it.

    Scorched's Body:

    Height: He can change if at will. Highest can be 13ft tall.

    Hands: 5 fingers. But at first sight, they appear to be 4; the reason being that his middle/annular fingers are conjoined together by the base and lower half. His round, thick sharp claws are black by the latter half.

    Body Build: (Lanky, almost down to the bone) Thick hands/fingers/claws, even if with jagged joints. Flat and sunken belly/abdomen. Very flat chest. Boney arm and leg joints. Bulging ribs and shoulder blades. Cartoony flat, feral-like rear end, slightly compact hips.

    Fur: Fluffy yet unkept flint fur (dorsal/muzzle), with the dark blue fur everywhere else

    Hedgehog Quills: EXE'S hedgehog quills form...

    1. Six spikes on the back of his head because of how they conglomerate against each other. These 6 spikes are partially separated, like he has a combed back spiky hair style that starts subtly curving downwards his back by the latter half because of how long they are. This allows his spikes to bristle/bounce/sway depending the force of movements. Because of deterioration, or lack of combing, they have become jagged, looking unkempt and having 3 sharp turns instead of the usual slow curvation.

    2. Four spikes on his upper back and another two below after an evenly spacing, by the midrift of his back. The upper ones by the shoulder blades are quite large and curve upwards, the latter half of each doing a sharp turn instead of a smooth curved one, same with and the (short in comparison) lower ones by the ribs. These 4 quills are separated, like he has 4 round defensive spikes that subtly hang low by the latter quarter of their short extension.

    Tail: Pointy, slightly curved upwards mediun sized hedgehog tail that ends in a pointy tip.

    Before he lost everything, he was a short blue hedgehog with 6 head quills, two on his upper back, a sturdy, pointy hedgehog tail, and a round chubby belly. He wore white gloves, red shoes and he was the hero of South Island, West Island, and soon Angel Island.

    After the pain from his transformation, he's a taller, mangled version of himself. His muzzle is elongated, almost like that of a wolf, with his lower jaw looking like it's completely dislocated, with the flesh of the lower jowls appearing to be ripped off, and he has very sharp rows of teeth. His muzzle has whiskers that look so fluffy, that they look like furry tufts on the sides of his muzzle, colored the same as the muzzle fur.

    The entirety of his lower jaw looks like its scorched into a dark mahogany red, riding the area of healthy skin and fur (starting by the corners of his mouth). The same charring lays within the ridges of the brows above his eyes. Because of this charring, his lower jaw is completely exposed, revealing the low row of fangs he has freely. With his upper lips, as they are slightly shrunken, they have half the upper row of his teeth exposed. This, alongside the way his thick brows look, make him look grumpy all the time.

    His arms are as long as his entire body from neck below, reaching to his ankles. On his arms, his dark fur fades out to reveal a fleshy, engrossed and very wrinkly (like burnt skin/flesh) mass of flesh that is light grey in color, which covers the entirety of the rest of the arms. This happens in the latter half of legs too, even covering his clawed, monstrous feet with 3 toes each. On the "charred" look of his hands, forearms, heels and feet, red veins mark themselves from under the skin.

    His ears are nowhere to be found, and even if he appears to have shoes and gloves─keen eyes would then realize the following: Those aren't clothing pieces, they are parts of his body, his flesh, making him fully naked.

    When he was the Hedgehog everyone knew of, he was a short blue hedgehog with 6 quills on the back of his head, two on his upper back, with a sturdy, hedgehog tail, and a round chubby belly. He wore white gloves that gave him personality, as he was the hero of South Island, West Island, and soon Angel Island.

    Sonic's body had become corrupted after The Merge. He felt how his body turned into an aberration that he didn't even want to see in a mirror, only learning about it after The Merge had happened a long time ago. From the short blue hedgehog, he was modified into this... thing. He couldn't even feel his mouth, it was like ants moved around it.

    Interestingly so, Hog's body, even in this state, looks remarkably like the Sonic the Hedgehog many people know, including the round pudgy torso. But he has a more fluffy look to him, with short dark blue quills and pale, pink/coral colored fur on the muzzle. The mouth appears to be hidden away by the anatomy, rarely seen, but when it is, the body displays that it has small sharp teeth. The Hog body has furry tufts on the sides of his muzzle, colored peach, and it has very large, cartoon like connected eyes.

    But here is the problem about this transformation. After everything Scorched had gone through, including taking over Hog's body, this body will display the same qualities as the base form: Unkept fur, darkened fur colors, and his white gloves and shoes will be dirty. Another fact is that his shoes will be black, instead of red. It will still have the white horizontal stripe by the middle, because these were Hog's shoes.

    Something to note is that this transformation involves Scorched using Hog's body temporalily. It might be alive, because of Scorched, but it's heavily damaged. This shows because of how the eyes will be completely and unnervingly bloodshot, with the right eye crooked, as if from a dead body.
