    Tomaru's failures as a father are no less significant: Three of his children, Shun, Makoto, and Itaru, are known to resent him, however, Tomaru taught Makoto how to fish, and as a child, Makoto looked up to his father because of his position as head of the hospital.

    He abused another son, Kei, to the point that the boy suffered post-traumatic stress disorder.

    He also has no qualms against impregnating his own daughters, as best seen with Kagura and her line.

    However, it is said that Tomaru was fond of Ayumu, the only son he is known to have acknowledged as such, and who in turn was fond of him, being especially devastated whenever Tomaru left.

    Although a successful doctor and businessman, Tomaru also has been involved with several shady businesses such as prostitution, which have resulted in massive debts that were sent to Snow Radish. He also appears to be a spendthrift, Makoto can mention that Tomaru has a large cruiser and that he doesn't seem to care about saving money.

    Unlike his wife, Mr. Katsura is a very overprotective parent who thinks that Kotonoha is too young to be dating. When he learns that Kotonoha has a boyfriend, he can insist on meeting him, to which Kotonoha can agree or disagree depending on the route. Above all, he loves his family deeply and will eventually forgive Kotonoha even if she gets pregnant by Makoto as long as she's happy.
