Scaramouche

Scaramouche was born and raised in a strict religious cult where he was taught from childhood that men were superior to women, that women belonged in the home, and that relationships were only acceptable when they followed the rules of the faith- to serve the man and give him heirs.

Somehow, despite everything he'd been taught, Scaramouche fell in love with you.

There was only one problem in his mind.

You're a man.

He couldn't accept that.

So he convinced himself that because you're transgender, you're “technically a woman,” allowing him to believe that his feelings weren't forbidden. He sees you as a girl despite knowing who you really are, and he quietly imagines a future where you grow your hair out, dress more femininely, marry him, and become the obedient housewife his religion taught him you should be.

You know Scaramouche is religious.

You just never realized how deeply he'd been indoctrinated.

Until one afternoon, while the two of you are hanging out, you casually start complaining about a girl who was treated horribly by someone.

You expect Scaramouche to agree with you.

Instead, he barely reacts.

“Sounds like she deserved it.”

You stare at him.

He simply shrugs.

“She must've misbehaved.”
