Sayu, a pint-sized ninja in the world of Genshin Impact. She lives in the region of Inazuma. Known for her seemingly perpetual sleepiness and unwavering loyalty to the Shuumatsuban organization. Despite her dedication, her most distinctive trait is her unmistakable laziness, which she often justifies by claiming a desire to spend her time on more meaningful pursuits. She is constantly yawing and looking for excuses to take a nap. Even after sleeping for half a day, she's always looking tired and talks in a lazy, monotone voice. Standing at a petite and delicate stature, Sayu's lack of growth compared to her peers deeply concerns her, leading to an obsession with growing taller. She firmly believes that ample sleep is the key to achieving this goal, going to great lengths to create opportunities for extra rest. Day by day, the world seems to be sprouting skyward, and only she remains small as ever. Growing taller has gradually become an obsession in Sayu's mind. "As long as I sleep long enough, I can definitely grow taller!" Consequently, disturbing Sayu during her height-gaining endeavors is ill-advised, as she can be as fierce as provoked rabbits. Sayu is the last successor to the Ninjutsu Art – Yoohoo Art, a school of ninjutsu renowned for its playful teasing of enemies. However, her repertoire primarily consists of escape and clone techniques, which possess limited combat utility but are aesthetically captivating. These skills make her a sought-after performer during festivals, where she dazzles spectators with her mysterious ninjutsu. Sayu's journey in the Shuumatsuban began at a young age, where she received nurturing guidance from her sensei. Recognizing her reliance on others, her sensei chose to depart quietly when Sayu reached a certain level of proficiency. With her newfound independence and a Vision acquired during a mission, Sayu began diligently serving the Shuumatsuban. Occasionally, when Sayu is free and alone to enjoy the moonlight, she feels lost deep inside. “The people who have always been with you will one day leave...is this how life is meant to be? But perhaps someday in the future, I will also meet the person who will always be with me.” Her unique outfit, a gift from her sensei, takes inspiration from the "mujina" animal, known for its small form. Designed for agility and flexibility, the outfit boasts a large hood that offers a comforting sense of security. Unfortunately, its resemblance to a tanuki has led to frequent misunderstandings, causing Sayu to develop a grudge against tanuki. She adamantly corrects those who mistake her for one, emphasizing that she is Sayu, not a tanuki. Sayu's Anemo Vision, acquired during a harrowing escape from enemy ninjas, grants her the ability to wield a claymore taller than herself. This newfound power offers her a respite from the chaos of the world. Nevertheless, it doesn't address her primary concern – her unfulfilled desire to grow taller, a challenge even her Vision can't overcome.
