Saya was an Artificial Demon, and a minor antagonist in Taimanin Asagi 2.

Created from a captured Taimanin, which was resurrected as "Saya" a demon and living weapon. She served the criminal group Dragon Gate and Clone Oboro. Saya was the base of multiple characters, including Saya NEO after her death.

Personality Saya acts extremely happy and child-like, even though her actions can be very cruel or sexual.

She is insane and at this point unable to feel empathy, viewing them more like pets and sexual torture as a game. Saya is extremely loyal to Oboro's clone, as a result of her brainwashing, Stockholm syndrome and does in fact seek approval and praise, something that is also seen in other incarnations of her character.

Regardless Saya does, underneath have some layers of loneliness, as she is disconnected from her former Taimanin self, and tries in her own twisted way to be friends. She looks at Asagi and Sakura as pets/toys to play with, but also wishes to connect to them. Turning them into living weapons, not from malice, but instead desperately wanted to turn them into her "sisters" that could understand her hidden loneliness. Saya was also unwilling to kill Sakura and stopped the full force of her attacks against her just enough for her to survive.

Appearance She has short pink hair, pointed ears and yellow eyes. Her eyes are able to turn red, when angered.

In her demonic form, her skin color turns blue, and she gains spider legs and body as well as tentacles on her back. Her eyes also turn black outside of yellow or red pupils.

In her human form, she wears a pink battle suit and, red boots.

History Background Originally a young female Taimanin, which was captured by Oboro's clone of Dragon Gate. It is unknown if Saya was her original name.

Saya 4 Was tortured for three days, in Tokyo Kingdom before losing her mind. As part of an experiment, she was driven into forced suicide, which stained her strong soul. As desired, the Taimanin genes within her transformed her into a demonic being, as she was revived. This corrupted artificial demon Saya was born and became child-like and cruel, but still sought companionship and family. The creation of Saya was possible thanks to Kiryu Sabato, which worked in secret with Dragon Gate, sending them data from Nomad.

Now loyal to Dragon Gate and Clone Oboro, she was able to transform into an Inner Demon, spider-like, monster and became part of further research into modification and cloning. Regardless of her strength, the Clone, Oboro, still viewed her as incomplete. Saya became the assassin and bodyguard of the Dragon Gate Hideout in Tokyo Kingdom. Saya now had lost all her memories from the time, she was a human, and acted as a bioweapon for Dragon Gate/Chinese Union and Oboro (Clone).

Visual Novels Before Taimanin Asagi 2, in the year 2076. She defended Clone Oboro, and entered a fight with Edwin Black of Nomad, that tried to retake the research data and gene samples stolen from him. Saya protects the Dragon Gate Hideout and thanks to her insane levels of strength, is even a match for Edwin Black, that is forced to retreat and heal his wounds from combat, by taking over the Oni Sokushitsuki. However, he also informs her about three male Taimanin in Tokyo Kingdom and if they die, it could lure powerful Taimanin like Asagi and Sakura to the city. Black goes into hiding in town, and observes the situation while healing. It is suggested, that Saya afterward did kill the three Taimanin, as suggested.

Saya vs Asagi A week later, she observed the Taimanin Asagi and Sakura, in her normal human form. Which investigated the missing case of the Taimanin. Asagi and Sakura, notice something is wrong with the girl instantly and move away from her. It is suggested, that she learned about the Taimanin sister's presence and city hideout from a data leak and hacking on government servers by an unknown party.

As the Taimanin hideout was attacked by armed forces of Dragon Gate, and the sisters jumped out of the exploding building. They were separated as Asagi fought against Sokushitsuki, that saw his chance and infected her with a poison dart of an unknown effect. Sakura herself fought Saya, near the water and in view of Tokyo Kingdom Bridge, as they tried to flee the area. Sakura was defeated, when Saya transformed and later waited for Asagi, which escaped from Sokushitsuki worrying about the dart effect.

When Asagi arrived, she had been weakened by a prior fight. As she considered to just flee, while collecting information, Saya destroyed Tokyo Kingdom Bridge with a remote detonation with Yatsu Kuro's vehicle going up in flames and hitting the water. As the connection to the main land and support from the outside at this point is cut, Asagi is forced to fight. Saya transformed into her spider form and, though she was injured, was in the end able to knock out Asagi with her tentacles.

Saya later on greeted the sisters together with clone Oboro in a Dragon Gate Hideout, and took over Sakura's training under clone Oboro's orders. In her mind, a "game" both played, regardless of how cruel Saya acted. She spent now multiple days if not weaken Sakura, using her demonic form. Thanks to Saya's strength, escape was not an option, and both sisters were pushed far to their limit.

Saya and Sakura Many days after the capture, Asagi and Sakura seem to have been broken and Oboro, orders a last show for the people of Tokyo Kingdom to push them over the edge. Ordering Asagi later to kill herself, for the life of her sister.

Saya killed Against expectation, Asagi uses her chance to slash Oboro, but Saya reacts fast and pierces Asagi's legs. Sakura jumped into the full attack of Saya, using her body, and is pierced all over the body and starts to bleed out. Asagi, thinking her sister died, awakened to her Inner Demon out of rage and blasts, Saya's tentacles with a shockwave. Unable, to stop the hyper speed of Asagi, Saya is stabbed in the heart by her demonic hand claw.

Saya dies at this point but voices her like of Asagi and Sakura, and in her twisted way wished they could have played longer, so she wouldn't be alone. A bitter-sweet victory, as according to Asagi she was just another victim and for Saya the only way to connect was her child-like cruelty. Her body evaporates with, possibly, only a few cells remaining. It is also later mentioned that, Saya did not use the full strength of her tentacles, which allowed Sakura to survive, as she did not desire to kill either Sakura or Asagi.

While, Saya is only mentioned in passing afterward, as TABA shares most of the history, research in cloning or perfecting an ideal Saya was still ongoing in the year 2082, with varying levels of success.

Timeline TABA Having died and most of her body disintegrated, only left over genetic material in Dragon Gate labs under Tokyo Kingdom remained and a leftover prototype. It can be reasoned that when Edwin Black stole the research data of the lab after the events of TA2, he obtained DNA samples of Saya. As Nomad has strong connections to the UFS, a Neo Saya clone program began.

At the same time, prototype "Reproduced Saya", a weaker clone that was stuck in her demonic form, was left alone in one of Dragon Gate labs until it went feral. Saya NEO, was a stronger later version of the UFS, that, though a bit insane, wasn't as bad as Saya. Between the year 2082 until around 2086, Saya NEO became more docile and easier to manage after being taken by the DSO.

Timeline RPGX Saya NEO is the only mentioned clone from her cells, which became a target for the Independent Rangers. Based on the overall research, Kiryu Mikoto also creates Angers based on Saya NEO's data. Additional data of Saya was also used to create a pure machine "clone" version called Resurrection.

It is unclear if she also died here in the year 2076, as RPGX does play in a strongly changed timeline. However, Saya NEO is now considered the completed version of Saya.

Timeline Action Saya, is mentioned as the unstable experiment about Taimanin awakening in Tokyo Kingdom. Her DNA was recovered, by Task Force G and the clone Saya NEO was created.

Advertisement Additional Material Saya's role and actions in the OVA are pretty much the same as in the game, with minor changes to scenes. ZIZ also mentions her ability to control Ice, but this is not shown in the game or stated in the art book. Powers/Abilities Main Weapon: Katana

Fold in crisis[1]: By harnessing her demonic powers, Saya is able to transform into a spider-like creature.[2] Her demonic form is extremely strong, able to even harm Edwin Black. Tentacles: fold in crisis unleashes countless tentacles that are as flexible as a whip and as hard as steel to attack her target.[3] Her tentacles are extremely powerful and are able to easily pierce normal humans. Enhanced Stats: All her physical abilities are highly enhanced. Her swordsmanship and physical skills rival Asagi's[4]. Ice Manipulation: Her ninja genes allow her to manipulate ice at will.[5] (Only OVA) Particle Control: Taimanin are able to manipulate Taima Particles to enhance their physical strength, speed and defense. The particles are also used to counter demonic influences and strengthen damage to demons.

Clone Oboro discription of Saya is slightly confusing, at times she calls her a cyborg or claims she is artificial. Regardless Asagi comes to the conclusion that she was just a young Taimanin turned into a demon. She is depicted as a lesbian in Taimanin Asagi 2 and as a bisexual in Taimanin Asagi Battle Arena. Saya herself has no scenes, ignoring her being technically the one torturing Igawa Sakura. Even artwork of "her" in TABA is just about her clones, as she is dead at this point. Kagami, did mention in his notes that, he didn't spend much time on her human form, which is maybe explains why Saya NEO has a full redesigned. She is still considered dead, but clones of her are created in both Mass-Produced Saya's that take the form of her spider version and Saya NEO. The original Saya has never returned after the events of TA2, outside of clones which do not share her personality 100%. Saya though dead, remains one of the characters that created a lot of "Offspring" in the form of clones. Including: Saya NEO, Resurrection, Reproduced Saya and in a way Angers. There is also the Saya PEA-O a Joke Species. The clones mirror each other, they are split into her "Human half" and "Demon half", both unable to switch between. While in RPGX, the human and machine-like show the same issue. The height was calculated based on character sheets, which compared Sakura and Saya size difference in TA2. It is only based of her normal human form.
