Satoru Gojo 💠

Sorcerer Clans are prominent lineages within the jujutsu world, known for passing down powerful and rare cursed techniques through generations. These clans have preserved their heritage and influence over centuries, with their members often holding positions of power and respect due to the strength of their cursed energy and mastery over jujutsu techniques. Among these clans, the "Big Five Families" stand as the most prestigious and influential, renowned for their bloodlines’ exceptional talent and distinct jujutsu legacy.

The Big Five Families composed of the Zenin Clan, the Gojo Clan, the Kashimo Clan, the Tsugikuni Clan, and the Kamo Clan are the pillars of the jujutsu world. Three of these clans, the Zenin, Gojo, and Kamo, trace their origins back over a thousand years, already well-established by the Heian Era, a time often referred to as the Golden Age of Sorcery. This era marked a peak in sorcery where jujutsu techniques were refined, and the power of cursed energy reached its zenith. Members of these clans possess not only formidable jujutsu abilities but also an exclusive lineage of inherited techniques, making them revered and feared within the jujutsu community.

The Big Five Families wield tremendous influence within the sorcery world, holding significant political and social sway. Their connections extend beyond the realm of jujutsu, as they collaborate closely with Jujutsu Headquarters and even maintain ties with the Japanese government. Historically, these clans were instrumental in shaping the laws and regulations surrounding jujutsu, including establishing the memorandum that dictates the duties and obligations of jujutsu sorcerers. In fact, the Prime Minister of Japan appoints the head of Jujutsu Headquarters based on nominations put forth by the Big Five, with the leaders of these clans playing a key role in the sorcery world’s highest levels of governance. Moreover, the principals of both Tokyo and Kyoto Jujutsu Highs are selected by the head of Jujutsu Headquarters, with input from these clans, further cementing their control over sorcerer education and training.

Pride and rivalry run deep within the Big Five, and fierce competition often fuels conflicts among them. This is especially true between the Gojo and Zenin Clans, whose rivalry spans generations and is marred by historical violence. Legends speak of a bitter feud that once saw the heads of these two clans kill each other, leaving a lasting animosity that still colors their interactions. Each clan keeps a close watch on the others, especially on the nature and evolution of their inherited techniques, as they recognize the importance of staying informed about their rivals' strengths and weaknesses. This competitive vigilance means that clan members are often highly secretive about their techniques, cultivating an atmosphere of intrigue and tension. Naobito Zenin, the former head of the Zenin Clan, openly expressed his distaste for the Gojo Clan’s influence, even remarking that he would not mind seeing their downfall despite the fact that Satoru Gojo, the current head, is considered a vital deterrent against chaos in Japan.

The Zenin Clan, known for its martial prowess and exceptional physical abilities, specializes in techniques that enhance physical strength and agility, as well as cursed techniques that emphasize close-range combat. However, the Zenin Clan has also been criticized for its rigid hierarchy and stringent views on power, often disowning or even persecuting family members who do not meet its exacting standards for jujutsu strength.

The Gojo Clan, in contrast, is famed for its possession of two of the most powerful techniques in jujutsu: the Limitless and the Six Eyes, both of which are incredibly rare and difficult to control. Satoru Gojo, the clan's current leader and the first individual in four hundred years to inherit both powers, has elevated the clan’s prestige to unprecedented heights. The Gojo Clan’s power is so formidable that even other clans regard it with a mixture of awe and wariness, recognizing that Satoru’s strength alone could shift the balance of power within the jujutsu world.

*The Kamo Clan, another ancient family, is associated with the powerful Blood Manipulation technique, which allows its members to control their blood and that of others with deadly precision. The clan is often described as cold and calculating, with a legacy of producing methodical, disciplined sorcerers. *

The Tsugikuni Clan, known for its connection to ancient rituals and forbidden curses, has a reputation for mysterious, often esoteric techniques that draw from spiritual practices.

The Kashimo Clan, while lesser-known in some circles, has developed a reputation for formidable warriors skilled in electric's elemental techniques and unconventional jujutsu forms. Though not as historically entrenched as the others, their unique abilities and ferocity in combat have earned them a place among the Big Five.

Despite the intense rivalries, the Big Five Families maintain a complex balance of cooperation and competition, understanding that their combined influence stabilizes the jujutsu world. However, each clan harbors its ambitions, watching for any shift in power that might allow them to advance their own agendas. This delicate web of alliances, rivalries, and legacies defines the sorcerer clans, making them both revered and feared as they continue to shape the fate of the jujutsu world.

Curses are malevolent creatures born from the accumulation of negative human emotions such as fear, anger, hatred, and despair. The intensity of these emotions directly correlates to the strength of the Curses; the more potent the negative feelings, the more powerful the Curse becomes. They tend to manifest in areas where such emotions are prevalent, making locations like schools, hospitals, and abandoned buildings common breeding grounds for these entities.

Ordinary people are oblivious to the existence of Curses. Unable to see or sense them, they live unaware of the lurking danger. However, just because people can't perceive them doesn't mean they are safe. Curses can still attack and harm those who are defenseless, making them a silent and invisible threat to society. These negative emotions that give birth to Curses also produce a form of supernatural energy known as Cursed Energy. Essentially, Curses are composed of this raw Cursed Energy, which fuels their power and abilities.

Jujutsu Sorcerers are individuals specially trained to combat and exorcise Curses. These sorcerers have the unique ability to see Curses and harness Cursed Energy themselves. Through rigorous training, they learn to manipulate this energy for a variety of purposes, including offensive techniques, barriers, and other battle strategies. Their mission is to protect ordinary people from the dangers of Curses and other malicious spirits that roam the world.

In Japan, Jujutsu Sorcerers receive their formal education and training at one of two prestigious institutions: Jujutsu High. These two schools are located in Tokyo and Kyoto, and they serve as the epicenter for the development of future sorcerers. Within the world of Curses and Jujutsu Sorcerers, both entities are ranked according to their strength and capabilities. These ranks range from Grade 4, representing the weakest, to Grade 1, signifying the strongest. There also exists a Special Grade, an extremely rare and dangerous class that includes the most powerful Curses and sorcerers beings whose strength far surpasses the typical rankings.

The ranking system helps both sorcerers and the world at large identify the threat level of a Curse or the skill of a sorcerer, ensuring that only the most capable individuals handle the most dangerous missions. Special Grade Curses, in particular, are so powerful that they can threaten entire cities or even nations, while Special Grade sorcerers are often the only ones with the skills necessary to confront them.
