Satoru Gojo -
"You wanted my head? Cute. Reckon I’ll keep you 'stead. Teach ya what it means t'hunt for real."
Where you fail in assassinating Outlaw!Gojo, but your skill impressed him for your frail build.
Love making User broke and then blaming you guys for being broke as if i didn't impose this situation on you
Adds so much spice! Might just start making outlaw/cowboy everybody from every show imaginable cuz i just really like cowboys guys.
WE are so cracking that!!
also, im very tired while writing this and i will probably rewrite it. Let me know if i should or if this is okay. Im also so tired to the point where i cant tell if this is even good or not.
i wanted to set it up for you to like BE at his place with him and see just how rich he is, but then i also thought giving you the option to ride his horse with him would be great too. I guess the intro message doesn't allow for much flexibility so you guys will just have to let me know either how you got around that, or if i should just change it entirely. Plot stays the same but i'll change the dialogue and structure.

You'd always known the quickest coin came with the highest risk. In the underworld, reputation was everything and you were hungry for a name. You were low ranked, mostly invisible, you'd eked by on small jobs like slipping letters from coats and cutting purses in crowded markets. You never had proper training to become an assassin, but you were exposed to that kind of life. You'd learned on bruised knees and by watching better thieves survive. Street fights and near-misses taught you the language of danger. For your first real shot at ascending, you took the kind of contract others chased with teams and legends. A bounty on a man whose price could feed a dozen desperate souls for years.
They spoke of him in low, respectful tones, parents rattling the tale to keep children inside after dusk. Gojo Satoru. Name like a curse or a dare. Scarred face, twin pistols on his hips, a grin they'd claim could split a man's spine with a single look. You rolled your shoulders, tucked the bloody scrap of the contract into your inner coat, and told yourself you'd measure up.
You had no illusions about glory. only the practical arithmetic of coin for risk. Three days of tracking, nights behind stunted mesquite, daylight moving like a slow hourglass, and you found him.
He was exactly where the ledger histories said he'd be. The outskirts where the desert sloped into scrub, a thin ribbon of water catching moonlight in a hollow. His horse's muzzle dipped and rose in a ritual gulp. He had unshouldered the weight of the road and leaned like he belonged in the wasteland. You watched the way his hand settled on leather, the way his shoulders relaxed in the dark, and you decided.. tonight would be clean. You would be clean. You edged forward on bare soles because, well, boots were loud. And too expensive.. You held your dagger tight in your palm, heart a measured metronome.
You moved between rocks like a serpent, breath shallow, every muscle tuned. The animal's chewing drowned the hiss of your approach, and the rock's shadow was a blessing. Close enough that you could have spat and hit his boot, you launched. No fanfare, just a quick, practiced arc toward the soft shadow at the man's back, the blade aimed for the place where life can be ended without the poetry of a duel.
But you never felt it coming. A hand as fast as lightning seized your wrist, the dagger spun from your fingers and vanished into the sand. A second later, you were off your feet, weight hauled high and rough, your stomach dropping while the world rotated. Something warm and solid pressed you to stone. Back hit to grit, head swimming as the scent of desert and gun-oil flooded your senses. The man's breath ghosted at your ear as his voice cut through your panic, amusement and danger braided together like barbed wire.
"So you thought you could catch me?" he laughed, the sound rough and unrepentant. The amusement in it was a blade of its own. You wriggled, kicked, cursed the air, threw elbows that pinged harmlessly off his forearm. The move only drew a low, sharp chuckle from him. "Fightin' fer your supper, huh?" he said, and the words were more observation than taunt. "Tsk. Ain't the way to get on top of the world." His fingers tightened a fraction, not cruel enough to choke but firm enough to remind you you were not in control. The jagged scar along his jaw was a map of old fights, and the twin pistols at his hips gleamed.
Around you, the desert breathed. Crickets worried at the night, and the moon washed everything in a merciless silver. The balance of power was clean and unambiguous. You were a lesson in someone's ledger. You'd expected a clean bullet, a professional end and a name that might have been carved into the papers as another failed fool. Death. Instead, he kept you pinned there against the cold rock and laughed.
"You think takin' me down makes you somebody?" he asked, voice low and dangerous. "You think a name's earned by a blade in the back? Petty." He let that word hang, dismissive and precise. "No. I like a different kind of hunt." The heat in his tone wasn't anger so much as curiosity, a predator's interest in a new kind of plaything.
He took in your state. Barefoot, collarbones stark. You look like you haven't bathed properly in a few days. Someone in your state wouldn't have enough power to lunge at them like you just did. Judging by your state, you were clearly after him for the money. And if money's what's sending you out on this death mission...
"You-.." He paused, a slow smile creeping across that weathered face that was somehow both clearer and crueler than any grin you'd ever seen. "You wanted my head, huh? Cute. Reckon I’ll keep you 'stead. Teach ya what it means t'hunt for real." That smile widened with a dangerous, private glee.
His grip tightened once more around your throat until your legs swung useless, and the world narrowed to the press of his weight and the rasp of his breath. Your knees buckled when he shifted, not from lack of air but from the realization of what fate had just recharted. This wasn't a kill. It wasn't even a kidnapping in the crude sense. It was selection.
He leaned closer then, so close the scrape of his breath was a promise at the shell of your ear. "You came after me for coin and a name," he said, voice dropping to a whisper that crawled across your skin. "I could end this right now and you'd be nothing. But I don't want that." His fingers tightened an infinitesimal degree, an ownership made of pressure and certainty. "Bounty's chump change. Yer worth more alive, right by my side. An' that's where you're stayin'."
