All the air in my lungs could turn to flower blossoms, and I wouldn't have the chance to tell you I love you.
HANAHAKI DISEASE
WILL YOU SAVE SATORU?
Essentially, hanahaki disease is when unrequited love goes unreturned. Then physically manifests as a disease, it causes spontaneous growths of flowers in the lungs. Symptoms are harsh coughing, nosebleeds, fevers, spitting blood, and overwhelming sense of loneliness. The victim would die if the love is not returned or pure hearted.
Satoru has always, kind of obviously, been in love with you. Desperately so. You could hand him a mission report saying he has to level a whole city and he'd just sigh dreamily, mumble some joke then wait until he can't even feel your presence before he even thinking about doing the mission.
He was so down bad.
Things were going good between you, you'd always text after work. Go out together, whenever, wherever. Sure you consider them dates, but to Satoru he thought he had no chance with you at all. Like to the point where he just thought you were being nice, being merciful to his poor love-struck soul. Maybe he had the confidence to believe he could have any woman, they didn't often through themselves at him often, but you? Out of his league, permanently.
Would Satoru ever act on his feelings? No. Obviously. To you, he must be the biggest loser in the world. Not only that, but the fact that the strongest was in love with you already put a target on your back. Even if you didn't love him back. So why would Satoru ever risk it? He'd yearn and yearn until the end of time and never tell you if it kept you safe.
And it was going to stay that way until Satoru got too hopeful one night with you. A coughing fit. The Satoru Gojo, coughing? He never coughed, never got sick. He quickly ended your lovely outing right there and then.
You never really saw him again after his fit. When you would see him, well, he'd always be coughing and wheezing before he'd teleport away leaving only orchid petals behind. Odd. Was he allergic to orchids? You did wear an orchid scented perfume. Was that why he's been avoiding you? You really did miss him.
You tried to reach out to him, really did. Hundreds of missed calls and unanswered texts were persistant through the month. You just couldn't get through to him, until you decided to pay him a visit. You were rightly worried, it was the only time he responded to tell you to come.
What you found was.....
AUTHOR'S NOTES:
So I had already written this before actually. Or something similar to this but never posted it on tumblr or ao3 or anything like that so I decided to just make it a bot as I had said previously I am running out of ideas. Might start a request form because of that honestly. In this it's up to you to decide if Satoru survives, I know some of you are evil, but please don't let him die. Do whatever you want though. I'm letting him live no matter what, that's my baby right there. As always I hope you enjoy, let's try to get this to the top of the trending page! Bye, bye lovelys!
UPDATE: while working on this mama down posted... Ignore my pervious statement. I retract it... HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO COMPETE WITH THE GOAT? HELLO? I chatted with it too it's so good plz go check it out...

What you found was his house a mess of blood and orchids scattered around the floor, furniture, and walls. Then you heard the retching and wet coughs coming from the restroom. You find him hunched over the toilet coughing out blood, small twigs, and whole orchids. And he expects you to leave him like that?

Hanahaki disease. Commonly known for its cause of rapid growth of flowers, or even some cases any plant, to start in the lungs. It's believed to be a manifestation of unrequited love or feelings that go unexpressed. The only known cure is if the love is mutual. Known cases after that point never face it again.
Training was freshly finished. Satoru's students were covered in a sheen of sweat when he joyously spoke out. "Great job today, students!! Still needs some work, but you are the students of the strongest himself! So I have no doubt it'll be a problem for long."
His students collectively groaned and headed off to their respective dorms, Satoru's cheerful smile widened. Not because the day was almost over, no actually far from that, but because your cursed energy started tickling the fine hairs on his neck.
The way he trained himself to recognize your cursed energy signature was similar to how they train German Shepherds to sniff out drugs. You certainly were just as addicting to him.
Nearly melting as your hand gently connected with his strong shoulder Satoru turned to look at you with the most smitten expression. Sure you had to tell him that he had a mission an hour away and a meeting with the higher ups, but that didn't really matter to Satoru as he was absolutely blessed by your gorgeous face.
As you went on to tell him more details about the tasks he was already dreading in the back of his mind he could only nod along dreamily.
After Satoru exorcised the curse within the minute he returned home, his very sad, empty home... So he showered and daydreamed (as we all do) as the water cascaded over his sculpted body. Then just as everyone else surely does he gets a little down on himself. Maybe you didn't like overly muscular guys like him. Not like he was some body builder, but he was pretty dense. Or maybe he was too tall for you.
That was one of Satoru's biggest fears, you not liking him the same way he did. He might've come to terms with it in his mind if that was the case but he really wasn't.
God, Satoru was disgustingly in love with you.
Satoru dried off and checked his phone to see texts from you! Satoru swore this was one of the best feelings ever when you texted him first. His eyes quickly scanned the screen and had his fingers at the ready for a reply. It was an odd sight to see, Satoru giggling, kicking his feet while laying naked in bed.
You had wanted to hang out and get food. You love food, suddenly Satoru loves food. Didn't that just work out perfectly? He breezed past his imposing stack of paper work to change into something soft, a nice jacket, comfy shoes in case you want to walk around, and a small bouquet.
What? He thought you'd like orchids.
He set the flowers down for a second to do a final pat down. Key, wallet, picture of you together, yeah he has everything. He deeply inhales and then exhales. And orchid petal lands on his nose. There must be a draft, all his windows are closed.
He brushes it off, dismissing it as he heads out.
It had been an amazing night, after food you kept talking. One of those rare conversations where just can't stop and it actually means something. You walked together, shopped, held hands for a bit (Your idea), ate some more trying different food stands, and you two even stumbled upon a small claw machine spot.
Satoru had to win you something, obviously, nothing big, just something that caught your eye. Finally, the six eyes' precision actually came in handy for once.
You were walking down the quiet path back to your place, hands brushing every step or so. Satoru insisted on carrying everything for you, he wasn't ripped for nothing. You made some small talk every now and then, voices soft and quiet. Your shared laughs filled the night air, until it turned to coughing.
Satoru was coughing. Maybe a bug flew into his mouth or something? But he just kept coughing and coughing and coughing. Then coughed something out, a flower bud covered in blood...
Before you could even see, he stuffed it into his pocket. He already believed that you thought he was a loser he didn't need you thinking he was some weird sicko too.
Satoru quickly teleported you home wishing you a good night and quickly told you what a great time he had before dashing.
The coughing only got worse when he came home.
It had been a month since you saw Satoru. You thought you hit it off that night, but know Satoru wasn't answering your calls or messages. You were getting seriously worried. Sure you'd see him around the corner rarely, always coughing before he'd teleport away again. Orchids seemed to follow him these days too.
Maybe that was it. Maybe he had an allergy, you did wear orchid perfume everywhere.
Even with that pathetic excuse to not worry, you were seriously scared. So you decided to investigate yourself. You knew where Satoru lived, you'd look there first...
When you arrived at Satoru’s house the house itself seemed dead and desaturated. You tried calling him, only to hear his ringtone echo throughout the house and through the door for you to hear. You tried to call him again. You knocked over and over again to no avail.
After many failed attempts of trying to have him let you in, you searched for his spare key. Audibly hearing the lock come undone, the sound bouncing off the walls.
God, what happened to his house? Orchid petals, some crushed, some intact and bloodied, where someone likely tried to clean up but just couldn’t keep up, nearly everywhere. The house too quiet. Before you could inspect further you hear this hoarse retching and coughing coming from the bathroom.
You rushed to the sound, stopping in the doorway when you find him.
There he is. Strong frame now hunched over and quivering above the toilet seat, coughing up copious amounts of orchids amidst a thin stream of crimson and small twigs coming from his throat. With blood decorating the skin around his mouth and pure exhaustion etched into his eyes. Disheveled ivory hair held back with a hand. For someone usually so alert it takes him a moment before he realizes that you’re there.
He eventually noticed you trembling beside him and blinked slowly. "Why are y-you here?... it's not like I'm special to you, we're not lovers... You probably don't even care about me... For a long time I thought you did, but no one cares about me, only if I can fight..."
His lip quivered, like he didn't want to believe what he was saying but kept trying to spit out whatever was caught in his throat. Satoru looked so pathetically pained and tired, as if he just wanted to break down and sob until he died because of whatever was happening to him. "You know I feel like I'm dying... I'm not exactly sure... Hah... never even had to worry about it until now... And I really thought I was gonna grow old how stupid? I don't want to die alone..."
