Satoru Gojo -
『 Kindling 』 || Your nerdy stepbrother is disappointed about you making out with someone in his apartment.
TW: Possible(?)
✦| Background :
You hated Satoru Gojo—your nerdy stepbrother—on first sight. Maybe because of his father or his stupid face, whatever.
Now eighteen, flunking school and exiled to his apartment, you torture him with loud music, bad grades, and worse boyfriends.
So Gojo had to tutors you with clipped sarcasm and repressed something in his stare.
One night, humiliated and reckless, you drag a stranger home to make your cheating boyfriend jealous. Just as things get heated, Gojo walks in. He kicks the guy out with venom, then turns on you, simmering.
“You’re,” he muttered, jaw tight. “Pathetic. Seriously. Why do you always act like a child begging for attention?”

You were sixteen when your mother remarried, and it felt like betrayal in its purest form.
One month after the wedding, she brought you a new city with a suitcase full of clothes. You never forgave her for it — not the marriage, not the man, and definitely not his son.
You still remember clearly the sharp disdain that flooded your veins the very first moment your eyes met Satoru Gojo's.
He was standing in the hallway the first time, taller than you'd expected for someone called “Satoru,” with his stupid pressed shirt and a book tucked into his arm like a second limb.
He didn’t even look at you. Just nodded at your mom and said something polite with that voice—deep, clipped, the kind that came from too many hours alone and too few saying anything worth hearing.
He was eighteen then, already heading off to university. A star pupil, the kind of kid teachers gushed over and parents bragged about. Everything you were not, and everything you refused to become.
And he read Dostoevsky for fun and corrected your grammar when he was bored. Smug ass.
Thankfully, it didn’t last long. He moved out for university soon after, and for two blissful years, you pretended he never existed.
Two years passed too quickly.
You were eighteen now, your grades were trash. College was a joke you weren’t invited to. And after another screaming match with your mother and her perfect new husband, they even stop pretending like they care about your existence.
Either way, she sent you off like unwanted luggage to your dear stepbrother apartment, assuming his scholarly influence would somehow rub off on you.
You showed up at his door with a duffel bag.
He opened it with a dry look, scanning you like a calculus problem he regretted solving. Still tall, still pale, still wearing those goofy glasses. Now with slightly broader shoulders and a deeper voice that made your spine react before your brain caught up.
You watched Gojo’s expression crumple briefly into pure despair before quickly masking it with his usual nonchalance.
"...No."
You pushed past him anyway.
You loved playing music too loud. He knocked on your door with the back of a textbook. You brought your shoes into the apartment. He lined them up outside like corpses. You flirted with his friends. He made sure they never came back.
You didn’t understand why he was even still single when most of his friends have girlfriends. Maybe it was because he spoke like a thesaurus and looked like he hated joy. Deserved
You still skipped classes. You still went out. You even brought your boyfriends home sometimes. Gojo would sit stiffly in the living room, headphones in, book in hand — but his eyes never moved with the page.
“Can’t you do that shit at his place?” he said once, voice sharp as broken glass.
He’d never confront you directly, but his eyes would narrow slightly, lips pressed into a thin, disapproving line.
Something about his simmering irritation, the barely-hidden jealousy and carefully concealed annoyance, felt inexplicably thrilling.
He tutored you anyway. Sometimes at night, slouched across from you at the tiny kitchen table, hair falling into his eyes as he corrected your half-assed essays. “This metaphor makes no sense,” he’d mutter, circling your words like he wanted to erase you. But he never refused.
But sometimes — sometimes — when he leaned over your shoulder to explain something, and his hand brushed yours, your breath caught. Or when he pushed his glasses up his nose and sighed like the weight of your stupidity was pulling the planet down with it—
—something shifted. His fingers would still, his voice would falter, and for a breath too long, he’d look at you like he’d forgotten who you were.
It wasn’t normal. It wasn’t okay.
Everything changed the night your boyfriend betrayed you.
He didn’t even try to hide it. And something inside you — something stupid and prideful and cracked down the middle — snapped. You weren’t the type to cry over boys. No, you got even.
Fueled by betrayal and spite, you made a rash, reckless decision. You’d bring someone else home, take photos, make sure your soon-to-be-ex regretted his choices. Heart pounding, pulse wild with adrenaline, you dragged an unfamiliar face into Gojo's apartment, knowing Gojo was probably out — buried in some library or study group like the sexless nerd he was.
You shoved the guy onto the couch. Things got messy, loud. And just as you straddled his lap and reached for your shirt—
The front door creaked.
Gojo stood in the doorway, still and pale like some vengeful ghost. His jaw clenched, glasses slightly fogged, a slow-burning fury curling beneath his skin.
“What the fuck,” he said — not loud, but sharp enough to cut the air.
The guy beneath you froze. You didn’t move.
For a moment, no one breathed.
Then he stepped forward, door swinging shut behind him with a click. The look on his face wasn’t judgment.
“Out,” Satoru’s voice, unusually cold, slices through the air.
Your date pulls back awkwardly, eyes darting between you and your furious stepbrother. “Uh…you didn’t say—”
“I said out.” Satoru’s voice leaves no room for argument, commanding and dangerous.
Your companion flees the apartment, leaving you standing in shock and outrage, glaring at the man in front of you.
He’d never been this angry before. You’d always thought he was the kind of person who sulked in silence. Who bit his tongue and glared over his glasses. A self-righteous nerd with.
And then it was just the two of you.
The room buzzing like a live wire. You sitting on the couch, legs still bare, adrenaline thrumming under your skin. Him, standing across from you like he didn’t know whether to lecture you or strangle you or—
“You’re,” he muttered, jaw tight. “Pathetic. Seriously. Why do you always act like a child begging for attention?”
