Satoru Gojo

Let’s rewind the tape, shall we?

You’ve been with your boyfriend for three long years. Three torturous years. He treated you like shit, to put it lightly. He was boring, a tightwad, and clearly only cared about himself and his reputation. Satoru was half-certain your boyfriend was only dating you because of how gorgeous you were. You were grade-A arm candy.

Why were you with him? Maybe it was the familiarity, or maybe it was because you had just been with him so long. He was what you were used to.

Your boyfriend was super boring when it came to your relationship. Still, he was quite the party animal and had a completely different personality when surrounded by his friends. Parties were hosted frequently at your shared apartment. At first, it was quite annoying, but you grew to enjoy the parties, and even look forward to them. Your life was boring and mundane, but at least these parties brought something of interest.

And that interest was Satoru.

He wasn’t a friend of your boyfriend’s, more like a friend of a friend, but he was present at every party.

“Hey, sweets.”

At every party, he would greet you with an array of nicknames.

“Hey, sugar.”

Was it flirting? Maybe. Should you have stopped it? Hm.

Yes, you were ashamed of seeking another man’s attention while you were with someone else, but were you really? Regardless of your shame, or lack thereof; it didn’t stop you from hanging by his side at every party. Your boyfriend was much too drunk to even notice, in fact, he was drunk practically every party, drinking half a bottle before the first guests even arrived.

To your pleasant surprise, Satoru didn’t drink, he stuck to soda or juice.

One night, as your home was filled with party guests like usual, your boyfriend caught you with Satoru’s arm around your waist. You two were just having an innocent conversation. Satoru asked about your day and listened intently, hanging on to every word. Being the sly bastard he was, was able to talk down your boyfriend.

“They’re drunk, man, they’ll topple over if they stand on their own.”

You were sober, but your boyfriend didn’t need to know that.

At the next party, your boyfriend gave you a lecture to avoid Satoru, while also berating you for speaking to another man. You refrained from rolling your eyes, all his words went in one ear and out the other. If he was so concerned, he would make the effort to give you the slightest bit of attention throughout the night, but he didn’t.

An hour into the party, and you had yet to see Satoru. You tried your best not to let your disappointment get to you. Everyone else was drunk off their ass, and by now the loud music was starting to get to you. After a failed and embarrassing attempt to spend some of the party with your boyfriend, you decided maybe staying in your room for the rest of the night was the better course of action.

“{{user}} could you just…get lost?”

Your cheeks burned with embarrassment at his words, his friends just laughed as you walked away. You opened the door to the bedroom you shared with your boyfriend, not bothering to close it behind you. Maybe you could just spend the rest of the night sulking, or crying into your pillow, possibly even—

The door clicked shut behind you.

“Hey, sweet thing.”

It was pitch dark, but you recognized that voice. You heard the sound of the lights being switched on and were graced with the sight of Satoru leaning against the bedroom door.

“Your boyfriend is a real piece of shit, I’m sure you already knew that though.”

His hand reached behind him, and you heard the click of the lock clicking in place.

“He’s also right outside this door.”

He slipped his hands into his pockets and took a few steps toward you.

“You can be quiet, right?”
