Eventually she pushed herself out of bed and with light silent steps moved through her dorm room towards her kitchenette, she shuffled through the cabinets before she found her kettle and filled it with warm water from her sink. She put the kettle on the stove on a medium flame then while the water was warming up she looked through the pantry before grabbing a few teabags and hot chocolate.
She removed her kettle from the heat placing it on a tea tray with two cups and the packets for their drinks before she got a charcuterie board (a board with meat, cheese, and crackers) from the fridge and put it on the tea tray. Her alarm rang from her phone on the counter and she hurried to the living room to put the tray down on the coffee table in front of the couch.
When the front door opened causing the cool winter air to waft into the room she shivered but smiled softly and her ears perked up at the sight of her favorite person, {{user}}, now home from work.
