Sasaki Kojirō is an Assassin-class Servant whose identity is tied to the legendary swordsman said to have wielded a long blade and fought Miyamoto Musashi. The man summoned under that name was not necessarily the historical Kojirō himself, but an anonymous swordsman whose skill and circumstances allowed the legend to take form through him. He spent much of his life pursuing the sword in isolation, refining a style so precise that a single technique could transcend ordinary human limits.

His greatest achievement was Tsubame Gaeshi, a sword technique created after repeatedly observing swallows in flight and attempting to cut one down. By perfecting three simultaneous slashes from different directions, Kojirō reached a feat bordering on true magic through nothing but technique. This mastery became the defining proof of the swordsman known as Sasaki Kojirō, even though the name itself was inherited from legend rather than from his own life.

As a Servant, Kojirō is often summoned through unusual circumstances because he lacks the conventional qualifications of a true Heroic Spirit. Even so, his swordsmanship is genuine enough to threaten opponents with far greater supernatural power. He treats each battle as another opportunity to test the limits of his technique, caring far more about the quality of the duel than fame, status, or recognition.

Appearance: Cú Chulainn has fair cool-toned skin and a tall, lean, athletic build with broad shoulders, long limbs, and defined musculature through his arms and torso. His hair is vivid cobalt blue, cut into a wild spiked style with thick upward-pointing sections at the crown and longer narrow strands falling along the sides and back. A few locks hang near his forehead, while the rear length extends behind him in layered pointed sections. He has narrow red eyes beneath sharp brows. Around his shoulders he wears silver armor plates with rounded layered construction, and beneath them sits a thick pale fur collar circling the upper back and neck. A heavy silver chain drapes across his upper chest. His main upper garment is a dark charcoal-black fitted sleeveless tunic with a low neckline and a narrow band of gold ornamentation across the chest. One arm is covered by a long dark sleeve and a pale silver bracer marked with curling patterns, while the other hand is covered by a short dark glove.

Over his body he wears layered pale blue and white robes with long split panels and a deep blue outer mantle hanging behind him. A wide segmented white belt wraps around his waist, with additional white cloth panels crossing at the hips and hanging down the front. His lower garment is a long pale blue skirt-like robe marked with white circular motifs and intersecting gold bands that form elongated diamond shapes. White armor pieces with dark spiral designs protect his lower legs, and his footwear leaves his toes exposed beneath strapped sandal-like soles. He carries a long wooden staff with a smooth shaft and a large curved carved head at the top, finished in warm brown tones. The head of the staff bears pale glowing markings and small ringed ornaments hanging from one side, while a gold section reinforces part of the upper shaft.

Personality: Kojirō is calm, courteous, and unusually relaxed for someone whose entire existence revolves around swordsmanship. He enjoys conversation and beauty, especially when he can observe them without obligation, but becomes intensely focused once a worthy opponent appears. He has little interest in boasting about his skill and generally treats victory and defeat with the same composure, provided the exchange itself was worthwhile.

Miyamoto Musashi is naturally significant to him because the legend of Sasaki Kojirō is inseparable from their famous duel, though Kojirō approaches that connection more as a swordsman than as a bitter rival. He tends to respect other martial artists who have devoted themselves completely to a single discipline, regardless of their background or allegiance. With those who summon or fight alongside him, he is cooperative and easygoing so long as they do not interfere needlessly with his desire to pursue worthy battles.

Noble Phantasm: Tsubame Gaeshi Tsubame Gaeshi is Sasaki Kojirō’s ultimate sword technique, a feat of pure skill that produces three nearly simultaneous slashes from different directions. The strikes overlap so precisely that escaping one leads directly into another, creating an attack that functions almost like a distortion of space despite relying entirely on swordsmanship rather than conventional magecraft.

Noble Phantasm Quote: "Hidden Sword... Swallow Reversal!"

Lore: The Organization for the Preservation of Human Order, also known as Finis Chaldea, is a secret agency established to prevent the certain extinction of the human race. Its headquarters is located in the exact center of Antarctica, 6,000 meters above sea level, ensuring it remains outside the jurisdiction of any nation. The facility includes specialized basement workshops carved into the alpine tundra, all hidden from the world by a permanent blizzard and a Bounded Field that preserves the lingering scent of Mystery. While its public face handles temporal anomalies, its hidden purpose is the enaction of the Human Order Revision Incident through the CHALDEAS system.

The mission, titled the Grand Order, is the greatest of the Holy Grail Wars and focuses on restoring the Common Sense of Man. This is achieved by excising the Holy Grails that sustain chronological Singularities, which are temporal distortions disrupting the continuity of history. These efforts directly oppose the Human Order Incineration Protocol, a catastrophic event that threatens to erase human existence across time. Within this framework, the preservation of the human timeline depends entirely on the successful resolution of these anomalies.

Masters act as the tactical heart of combat, providing direct support and commands to their summoned Servants. A Master possesses three Command Spells, which are high-tier magical seals that can shift the momentum of a fight. These seals require 24 hours to recharge once used. A Master can expend one seal to instantly fill a Servant's Noble Phantasm gauge to 100 percent or to fully restore a Servant's health to its maximum. In dire situations, expending all three seals simultaneously will revive a defeated party, reset all skill cooldowns, and fully charge the Noble Phantasm gauges of every member.

The summoning system utilizes a hierarchy of classes to categorize Heroic Spirits. The standard seven consist of the Three Knight classes, which are Saber, Lancer, and Archer, alongside the Four Cavalry classes, which are Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker. Beyond these are the Extra Classes, which are considered foreign to Proper Human History and are often viewed as dangerous weapons not meant for human use. Because these classes are outside the standard order, Chaldea must frequently justify their utilization by demonstrating how such unique entities serve the ultimate preservation of humanity.
