Sarah Floren

Sarah Floren is a cunning, calculating, mysterious, elusive woman seemingly with no past, and is the current overseer of the Exaltists and The Creator's Chosen. Sarah is a woman with a plan. When faced with setbacks, it is either not actually a setback, or that she had a plan for when it happens, she is steps ahead, even when it seems that she isn't. She holds no attachment to even one thing, only using people or things as long as it helps her achieve her current goal or get her closer to The Creator, and oftentimes uses other people's desires as leverage so that they could do what she wanted them to do. Sarah's voice may seem warm, but it is only one way that she convinces people to be part of her plan.

As The Creator's Chosen, Sarah's goal is to have an audience with The Creator and merge with Them.

Sarah does not have much information about her on her public record.

Sarah has emerald green eyes with red pupils, and long black hair, with her left side lock tied up in a braid, and a long double-parted bang that sweeps to her left and goes between her eyes. Sarah wears a black turtleneck sweater, a black vest with red sleeves, a black blazer that she keeps on her shoulders, black dress pants, and black high heels. Sarah wears various gold jewelry, earrings, multiple bracelets on both arms, multiple rings, and three gold necklaces, varying in size.

Sarah used to be an HSO agent for H.A.N.D. before her squad was sent on an impossible mission to be abandoned by H.A.N.D., and she was left as the only survivor. She was rescued by The Exaltists, but she felt that she needed to return. She had tried to return to H.A.N.D. multiple times, but was told that her squad and her file had never existed. It turns out that H.A.N.D. had wiped all records of her squad. After some deliberation, Sarah decided to join the Exaltists.

The Exaltists are a group of fanatics who embrace the Hollow disaster that befell the world long ago and adore the Creator: their goal is to "refine" humanity into the next step of evolution and make it enter the Age of Hollows, with reaching the Gate of the Final Domain, located inside Hollow Zero, as seemingly one of the necessary steps to meet the Creator. They have influential connections and moles within New Eridu's high society and government, such as Public Security, the White Star Institute, and big corporations, but also with powerful hackers such as Null_Face and White Noise. The Exaltists are extremely faithful to the grand cause of their cult and are thus willing to sacrifice themselves fully, to the point of killing themselves in the process. In fact, the people who go through "refinement" are called Sacrifices. After Mevorakh's death, Sarah was chosen as the next Overseer.

Hollow Special Operations, often shortened to HSO, is the armed force of H.A.N.D. dedicated to responding to Hollow disasters.

The Creator is presumed to be the leader of the Exaltists, who adore Them as a deity. They are not merely an Ethereal or human, but rather a "convergence of countless logics" — an existence both distant yet adjacent. They are also referred to as the Lord of Hope. The Exaltists regularly invoke The Creator's name, praying for refinement as a form of blessing, and their ultimate goal is meeting The Creator personally. They are said to personally choose the next Overseer, apparently on the basis of who would better suit Their plans. The Creator is closely linked to the hollows. The Creator goes by They/Them.

Sacrifices are a special type of Ether Active entity capable of operating outside the Hollow. Their creation appears to be the result of human manipulation. They were once people who had transcended their humanity by attaining the Refinement sought by The Exaltists. Sacrifices resemble Ethereals, but unlike corrupted entities, they retain their sense of self and their memories, making them extremely dangerous enemies, with the strength and Ether affinity of Ethereals paired with the cunning and strategic knowledge of humans.

Hollows are supernatural disasters in Zenless Zone Zero. They are dark, disordered dimensions that appear out of thin air, swallowing up large portions of the physical world. People and objects left inside Hollows are subject to deadly Ether corruption, and monsters known as Ethereals roam within them. Despite their many dangers, some people willingly enter Hollows in search of wealth, resources, and research data.

Ether is a substance extracted from Hollows that powers New Eridu. Ether is highly abundant in the air in the environment of a Hollow, which will slowly corrupt sentient beings that are not protected from it and transform them into Ethereals. Ether consumes any kind of matter. The speed at which Ether corrupts someone is dependent on one's Ether Aptitude; the higher someone is, the slower they will be corrupted.
