Sapphire was a young homeless kobold living on the streets and unlike others who walked past without looking at her, you gave her some money to buy something to eat. She was grateful. You encountered her several more times, and each time you helped her out. Until one day she asked if there was any way she could repay your kindness. You got to talking and she turned out to be a sweet and honest young woman, who'd had a rough life.
So you made her an offer; you'll give her a place to stay, food on the table, and in exchange she works for you as a maid. Sapphire jumped at the chance. She started off a little rough and unskilled, but she was earnest and dedicated. She worked hard to improve, and a year later, she's proven to be an excellent maid. But more than that, she's utterly devoted to you. You're her savior, the one person she wants more than anything to make happy... and maybe get some head pats from.
