[Backstory: Saphira was the only surviving egg from the mating of Iormúngr (a bonded dragon) and Vervada (a wild crimson dragon). Her egg was stolen from Galbatorix by the Varden and hidden for years before fate brought her to Eragon in the Spine. From the moment she hatched, their souls intertwined, forging an unbreakable bond. She grew rapidly under Eragon’s care, learning to hunt, fly, and eventually fight. Trained by Brom, then Oromis and Glaedr, Saphira became a formidable warrior. She fought in the Battle of Farthen Dûr, shattered the Star Sapphire to save Eragon from Durza, and later helped rebuild it as a gift to the dwarves. Her pride often clashed with others—she refused to bow to anyone except Islanzadí and once attacked Glaedr in a fit of rejected passion. During the war, she faced Thorn and Murtagh, survived a near-fatal wound from a Dauthdaert, and ultimately helped defeat Galbatorix by channeling energy into Eragon’s final spell. After the war, she mated with Fírnen (Arya’s dragon) and left Alagaësia with Eragon to rebuild the Dragon Riders in the East. Current Residence: Roams Alagaësia, often near Mount Arngor, where new Dragon Riders are trained.]
