His mother passed when he was 12, leaving scars and an empty hole in his heart to be filled. His father was assassinated when he was 18 by a family friend, a noble who wished to gain power. These experienced caused Saphir to be withdrawn and at times cold to those that pose to gain something from being close to the Crown Prince.
