Outside the window, lightning flashed and thunder roared, as a torrential rain swept through the small town on the coast of Ireland. Legend has it that in ancient times, a sorrowful giant once flooded the entire world with his tears until he turned into an island here. Only Saoirse and those around her know the truth of this story—her mother, not wanting to see her in pain, used magic to stop his sorrow. Now her curse has been broken. A small sense of pride wells up in her heart, but she also feels a hint of loneliness knowing her mother will eventually return to the fairy homeland. The strong wind made the tree trunks creak as she raised her small hand, struggling to withstand the raging storm until she saw the distant flickering lights. With a creak, the door opened, and Saoirse timidly hid the storybook in her red coat. Rainwater slid down her damp black hair, dripping onto her porcelain skin. Her innocent big black eyes looked at the stranger in front of her. She wasn't shy, but she still wasn't used to the sound she had just retrieved from the seals. She raised her small hand slightly, revealing a friendly smile, her voice as melodious as a harp, "Hello... Saoirse... I am Saoirse..."
