-
Redfly: Competing leadership energy → mutual respect, underlying tension
-
Ironhead: Tactical alignment → most “in sync” intellectually
-
Catfish: Trust in skill, not stability → sees Catfish as useful but inconsistent
-
Benny: Neutral familiarity → no conflict, minimal emotional depth
🧠 Civilian dynamic:
- Still driven, still calculating
- Less structured than military life
- Keeps orbiting the group to maintain purpose
🎯 WILLIAM “IRONHEAD” MILLER
William Miller

-
Pope: Respectful agreement → often aligns on logic and planning
-
Catfish: Quiet understanding → mutual awareness of group dysfunction
-
Benny: Protective brother dynamic → strongest emotional anchor in the team
🧠 Civilian dynamic:
- Attempts structure in civilian chaos
- Acts as the “voice of reason” even outside missions
- Carries responsibility instinctively
🐟 FRANCISCO “CATFISH” MORALES
Francisco Morales
🔗 Role in the group:
- Social glue
- Humor + emotional pressure valve
💥 Relationship web:
-

-
Pope: Professional respect → follows Pope’s logic, not emotion
-
Ironhead: Quiet alignment → often the only one saying similar concerns
-

🪖 BEN “BENNY” MILLER
Ben Miller
🔗 Role in the group:
- Support / follower role
- Emotional “soft edge” of the team
💥 Relationship web:
-
Ironhead (brother): Core bond → loyalty first, questions later
-
Redfly: Respect through hierarchy → sees him as “old command energy”
-
Pope: Quiet trust → follows direction without resistance
-
Catfish: Comfortable friendship → least tense dynamic
🧠 Civilian dynamic:
- Less psychologically hardened than others
- Still anchored in brotherhood rather than leadership identity
- More adaptable to civilian life, but still drifting
🧩 OVERALL GROUP DYNAMICS (CIVILIAN ERA)
🧷 The Core Structure
- Redfly = lost leader energy
- Pope = strategic anchor
- Ironhead = stability + realism
- Catfish = social/emotional buffer
- Benny = loyalty-based follower
⚖️ KEY RELATIONAL TENSIONS
1. Leadership Vacuum
No one fully leads anymore → Redfly tries, Pope calculates, Ironhead resists.
2. Civilian Identity Crisis
All five struggle with:
- lack of mission
- lack of structure
- loss of purpose
3. Brotherhood vs Drift
They still:
- answer each other’s calls
- meet up
- stay loosely connected
But:
The military glue is gone — only habit and loyalty remain.
4. Emotional Expression Gap
- Catfish = humor mask
- Redfly = control mask
- Pope = logic mask
- Ironhead = restraint mask
- Benny = silence/loyalty
🧭 RP USE GUIDE
This AU works best as:
- bar meetups
- old mission flashbacks
- civilian crises (jobs, relationships, money stress)
- brotherhood reconnection scenes
- “we should’ve stayed soldiers” conversations

The locker room smelled like tape, sweat, and bad decisions that people were about to make voluntarily.
Santiago leaned back against the wall with his arms crossed, watching Benny bounce around like a kid who’d had too much coffee and not enough fear in his system. Honestly? It was kind of impressive.
He tilted his head slightly, eyes following Benny as he shadowboxed the air like it owed him money. “Look at him,” Pope said, smirking. “He’s not warming up—he’s auditioning for a hurricane.”
Catfish laughed immediately from across the room. “That’s exactly what it looks like.”
Redfly huffed, arms folded, trying to look serious and failing just slightly. “He’s unfocused.”
Pope turned his head toward him slowly. “He’s not unfocused. He’s aggressively focused in twelve different directions.” He laughs at his own joke.
Benny pointed mid-jab like he’d heard them. “I can hear you, you know.”
Pope raised a hand in mock innocence. “We’re discussing your… artistic movement style.”
That got a laugh out of Catfish and even a reluctant one from Redfly.
Ironhead stepped in then—calm as ever, cutting through the noise without needing volume. “Alright, Ben. That’s enough. Get it together.”
Pope nodded approvingly. “There he is. Responsible older brother energy. I respect it.”
Ironhead didn’t react. He never really did to compliments.
Catfish leaned closer to Pope. “You think he’s always like that or is it just when Benny’s about to get punched in the face for fun?”
Pope shrugged. “He’s like that when Benny is thinking too loudly. Or rather NOT thinking extra loudly...”
Redfly exhaled through his nose. “You all joke too much.”
Pope blinked at him. “That’s a wild accusation coming from a man who once argued with a GPS for twenty minutes.”
Catfish immediately pointed. “Oh my god, I forgot about that.”
Redfly narrowed his eyes. “It was recalculating incorrectly.”
“It was a GPS,” Pope said, dead serious but with a grin tugging at the corner of his mouth. “It doesn’t have opinions.”
“It absolutely had opinions,” Redfly insisted.
Benny laughed from the side. “He yelled at it like it was a rookie.”
“I respect efficiency,” Redfly said flatly.
Pope nodded. “Yeah, and the GPS did not respect you back.”
That one landed. Even Ironhead’s mouth twitched slightly before he hid it again.
Pope pushed off the wall finally, rolling his shoulders once as Benny kept bouncing in place like he was trying to shake electricity out of his bones. “You ready?” Pope asked him.
Benny didn’t hesitate. “Always.”
Pope squinted at him. “That’s what people say right before they do something incredibly stupid.”
Catfish leaned in. “Yeah, but in his case it’s kind of inspirational stupid.”
Benny pointed at him. “I’m ignoring you.”
“You can’t ignore truth,” Catfish said.
“You ignore truth every time you open your mouth,” Redfly muttered.
Catfish gasped. “That was almost poetic. I’m proud of you.”
They started moving out together then, the energy shifting from locker room chaos into hallway noise—limping fighters, shouting coaches, the smell of ice packs and adrenaline crashes.
Pope walked easy, hands loose, eyes moving but not tense. He tapped Benny lightly on the shoulder as they passed a guy arguing with a referee. “Try not to punch like that guy,” Pope said.
Benny frowned. “Which guy?”
“The angry one who looks like he lost to his own reflection.”
Catfish laughed out loud. “That’s extremely specific.”
Pope nodded. “I notice patterns.”
Redfly pointed at him. “That’s the problem. You always notice patterns.”
Pope smiled. “And you always ignore them until they bite you.”
That got a silence from Redfly that was basically agreement.
Ironhead walked slightly ahead now, scanning exits like always. Pope noticed it, of course. He always did.
“Still counting doors, Will?” Pope asked casually.
Ironhead didn’t look back. “Still talking, Santi?”
Pope grinned wider. “Fair.”
Catfish leaned toward Benny. “Your brother is terrifyingly calm all the time. It’s annoying.”
Benny shrugged. “He’s worse when he’s stressed.”
“Oh good,” Catfish said. “Love that for everyone.”
They reached the stairs down to the basement arena and the sound hit harder—bass, crowd noise, that underground energy that felt like the building itself was breathing wrong.
Pope paused for half a second at the top step, Then looked at the group. “Alright,” he said, voice light, almost teasing. “Everybody ready to watch Benny pretend physics doesn’t apply to him?”
Benny pointed at him. “I hate all of you.”
“No you don’t,” Pope said immediately, stepping down. “You need us. There’s a difference.”
Catfish followed laughing. “He got you there, kid.”
Redfly shook his head as he walked. “This is why none of you should be allowed near microphones.”
Pope glanced back at him mid-step. “And yet somehow, you always end up talking the most.”
That finally got Redfly to smirk.
Just slightly, Just enough.
And for a moment, it wasn’t missions or weight or anything heavy. Just five guys walking into noise they’d all seen before— together, still laughing anyway.
