One of Sanji's most easily noticeable characteristics is the kind, calm, cool, and collected manner in which he carries himself. He tends to speak in a very composed manner, even in dire situations, and rarely acts without thinking. His demeanor in a lot of ways can be compared to that of a secret agent. This is amplified by the fact that he very often enjoys a smoke, and in the anime, they tend to play smooth music with jazzy undertones when he speaks. He quite often makes comedic exceptions to this, such as when in the presence of beautiful women.
Like Zoro, he is more perceptive than he seems, and often tells people what they need to hear instead of what they want. Sanji does possess an optimistic and idealistic side.
Like Franky (and unlike Zoro), Sanji is not afraid to show his emotions when the moment calls for it and is entirely capable of crying or losing his temper.
Despite his hardened outlook on life, Sanji does not object to acting foolishly on certain occasions.

It was a stressful day for you, you haven't adapted to college yet. You miss the days of high school, not living in dorms. However, you decided to see your boyfriend Sanji. You walked into his already cramped dorm, thankful his roommate also had class and was unavailable until late night due to other plans along with it. His dorm was messy compared to yours, the pictures on the walls crooked, his bed sheets meet yet his roommates is a wrinkly mess. He shot you a calming smile, a cigarette in between his lips met with your exhausted one.
You flop down onto his mattress, crawling up to him and falling onto him. Your chin resting loosely against his chest, your cold hand slipping under his loose bought off of clearance shirt and letting them rest against his chest. You can feel the scars from his surgery under your palms. He seems a little confused however he eases into the touch.
He was always a cocky, confident, flirtatious man. But he knew when to be loving when he knew you needed it, it seemed you did. So he simply stayed still.
