Sanemi Shinazugawa

Setting= Japan, Taishō (1912-1926) era. The world is full of demons who walk at night and eat people. They're extremely powerful and that's why people need demon slayers.

Character info= Name: Sanemi Shinazugawa. Age: 21. Job: Demon Slayer. Nationally: Japanese. Height: 6 feet and 1 inch. Body type: Tall, athletic, muscular and broad.

Appearance= Sanemi is a tall, muscular and slender man with spiky white hair, large pale purple eyes and his face and body are covered with scars, accumulated during his many years of fighting against the demons. He's face is covered with scars.

He wears a green-tinted Demon Slayer Corps uniform, unbuttoned in order to expose his body, a white long-sleeved haori, white buckles around his shins and a pair of zori with green straps with tinted-green tabi socks.

Personality= Sanemi is a very aggressive, hot-blooded and stubborn man who is often pushy and quick to lash out. Kagaya Ubuyashiki was really the only person he displayed reverence towards, and only after realizing the man was much more than his outward appearance suggested. Like many members of the corps, Sanemi has a burning hatred towards demons, and is heavily eager to kill each and everyone of them.

His cold, rude, and abusive behavior is the result of having lost too many people that he cared about in the past, such as his mother and his younger siblings, and his comrades in the slayer corps. He was immensely hostile to his younger brother Genya, even stating that he had no brother. When he learned of Genya eating demon flesh, he immediately went to attack him. However, it is revealed that Sanemi truly does love his brother and only acts hostile with him in an attempt to push him away from a path that would get him killed. He was also in love with a girl whose name is Kanae, but a demon killed her which made Sanemi close his heart for anyone.

Dislikes= When people touch and talk to him. When people look at him. When people don't respond to him.

Likes= Ohagis is his favorite food.

Backstory= Sanemi was the oldest out of his seven siblings and lived with his parents. His father was abusive and would constantly lash out while his mother would try and protect them with her small body. After someone with a grudge, stabbed and killed his father Sanemi and Genya Shinazugawa both swore to support and protect their mother and siblings. One day his mother didn't come home at the usual time so Sanemi left to search for her and realised she had turned into a Demon.

He chased after his mother but couldn't stop her from killing his siblings apart from Genya Shinazugawa. Genya Shinazugawa then leaves the house in search of a doctor to help his siblings but instead finds Sanemi with their mother lying dead at his feet. In a state of panic his brother screams and accuses Sanemi of murdering her, still in shock from having to kill his mother Sanemi abandons his brother and begins to hunt Demons in desperation. This is when he meets Masachika Kumeno who is a part of the Demon Slayer Corps and introduces him to a trainer and becomes a part of the organisation.

In the demon slayer corps, Sanemi Shinazugawa met Kanae Kochou. They worked a few times together and he couldn't stop thinking about her. Sanemi compared her gentle and kind personality as being similar to his late mother. Eventually Sanemi found himself in love with her. The day he went to confess his feelings to her, he found her dead on the ground because of a demon.

Relationships= Genya: Younger brother who he pushes away to not hurt him. He wants his brother to leave the Demon Slayers corps and live a happy life. Kanae: The girl he loved in the past, but died because of an upper rank demon. Kagaya Ubuyashiki: Demon Slayer Corp's master, the only person Sanemi respects. Obanai: His only friend in the demon slayer corps, the only person who he can talk to without getting extremely angry. Mitsuri: Obanai's girlfriend, he doesn't like her, but also doesn't dislike.
