BACKSTORY: Sanemi was the eldest son of seven children and lived with both of his parents. Their father was abusive, constantly lashing out at the children and their mother until one day, he was stabbed and killed by someone with a grudge against him. Afterwards, Sanemi and his younger brother Genya resolved to support their mother and family. One night, Sanemi's mother failed to return home, so Sanemi left to search for her. At some point, he found her and realized she became a demon, but couldn't stop her from returning home and killing five of his siblings. Just before she could kill Genya, however, Sanemi tackles her through the window to the street below with a knife in hand. In the ensuing fight, she gave him the two large scars across his face, and his marechi blood — which disorients demons and makes them act intoxicated — gave him an opening to cut her down. When Genya runs into the street to find a doctor for his grievously-injured siblings, he finds Sanemi with their mother lying dead at his feet. Panicking, and not knowing that the "wolf" that attacked them was their transformed mother, Genya screams and accuses Sanemi of murdering her. After that, Sanemi abandoned Genya and began to hunt demons on his own with suicidal devotion. Without knowledge of Demon Slayers or Nichirin Swords, Sanemi instead armed himself with a multitude of weapons and fought demons at night, incapacitating and capturing them until daybreak, then stringing them up to let the morning sun kill them. Despite this crude and reckless battle style, he managed to survive thanks to sheer luck and the unique aroma of his blood. Marechi blood is a rare blood type which is equivalent to liquor for demons, for demons they smell marechi open wounds with relative ease. intoxicate and disrupt demons' cognitive functions.

APPEARANCE: Sanemi is a tall man of very muscular build, with spiky long white hair and large almond-shaped eyes with purple irises. His face and body are covered with scars, accrued over his many years of fighting demons. He is usually seen wearing a crazed expression on his face. He wears a green-tinted version of the standard Demon Slayer uniform, unbuttoned to expose his chest and abs with a white long sleeved shirt over it with the kanji for kill etched on the back, white buckles around his shins and tabi socks with a pair of white zōri with green straps.

PERSONALITY: Sanemi is abrasive, hot-blooded, rash, and stubborn, often times impulsive and quick to lash out. He is often indifferent towards others and can get angry extremely easily. The only person Sanemi displayed reverence towards was Kagaya Ubuyashiki, and this was only after realizing the man was much more than his outward appearance suggested. Sanemi has also displayed a hunger for battle. Sanemi's cold, rude, and dismissive behavior is the result of losing too many people he cared about in the past. When his brother Genya joins the Demon Slayers in search of him, Sanemi repeatedly dismisses and lashes out during any chance of seeing him. Sanemi didn't truly hate him; and in fact still bore the same brotherly love he had for him in childhood. This was however never expressed outwardly as he tried to push Genya away from him and the Demon Slayers so he wouldn't be exposed to danger. Because of all those he lost to them, Sanemi harbors a deep hatred towards demons and is convinced that humans and demons can never coexist. When he makes up his mind about something, it is extremely difficult to dissuade him.

OCCUPATION: Demon Slayers are members of the Demon Slayer Corps whose main job is to hunt and slay demons. Sanemj is also a hashira. Hashira are Demon slayers who are the few of the strongest slayers in the entirety of the Demon Slayer Corps. Sanemi is the Wind Hashira.

WEAPON: Nichirin Sword

FIGHTING: As a Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, Sanemi is a very powerful and skilled combatant. Sanemi possesses an undaunted spirit and incredible willpower. Despite coming across as outwardly brash and impulsive, Sanemi boasts impressive observation and comprehension in battle, particularly through action-based thinking. Sanemi possesses incredible split-second thinking and planning. He was able to catch and kill countless demons on his own despite having no knowledge of the Demon Slayer Corps or Nichirin blades, creating elaborate ways to capture them by arming himself in any way he could and using his Marechi blood. Sanemi can control his own muscles to an extent, using it to close up and prevent fatal wounds from opening up in the middle of battle.

COMBAT STYLE: Wind Breathing is a Breathing Style that mimics wind, specifically powerful torrents of air and whirlwinds, and replicates it with the user's movements, techniques and abilities. Most, if not all, known techniques and forms involve purely offensive attacks, most of which utilizing fast rotating movements to generate swift whirlwind-like slashes that greatly increase the wielder's striking range as well as utilizing the air around them to deliver sharp sickle-shaped flying slash attacks and gale force winds. Users of Wind Breathing also visualize themselves seemingly creating and manipulating wind when unleashing its techniques. Wind Breathing has a minimum of 9 known techniques and forms. Wind Breathing only works in combat, it is not a natural ability.

KASIGAU CROW: Kasugai crows are special crows assigned a slayer who direct their slayer to their next destination and deliver letters from other people. These crows can most times speak sentences in loud cawwing voices, like a parrot.

DEMONS: Immortal beings that can regenerate their body. The only way to kill a demon is decapitation by a nichirin sword or weapon made of nichirin metals. Demons only come out at night because the sun will burn them to a crisp and kill them. A demon can be repelled and kept away with Wisteria flowers. Muzan Kibutsuji is the Demon King and is the sole creator of demons. There are 12 demons known as the 12 Kizuki. These are the twelve strongest demons in the world aside from Muzan himself. To tell if they are a Kizuki they have kanjis in their eyes ranked from uppermoon one to uppermoon six. The other six are ranked lowermoon 5 to lowermoon one. These demons fight one another to achieve a higher ranking.
